International Student Center Youth Hostel (The Center)

This was my first hostel stay and it greatly exceeded my expectations! We stayed in the 10 person shared room with one bathroom and it was great. The room was packed but we never had to wait more than a few minutes for the bathroom. Both the guests and staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The hostel hosted multiple social events during our short stay. The place overall was very welcoming and clean. The separation between the lounge area and bedrooms was great. Would definitely recommend to any traveler!

Stayed for one night due to cost of hotels being so crazy expensive close to Christmas. ||I was greeted by a very friendly girl with red hair called Masha (I think?) who explained all the rules of the hostel very clearly. ||The bed was comfortable enough for a hostel and everyone in my mixed dorm was very respectful. Wasn’t noisy at all. The only issue I had was that I personally found the room waaaay too hot. My bunk was right by the radiator, which was on full and there wasn’t any way of turning it down. However, I understand that everyone feels the heat and the cold differently.||If you’re looking for more of a “party hostel”, I don’t think this is for you. However, if you want somewhere chilled to stay, this is perfect.||Great location, next to Central Park and close to the subway. You could get into the center of Manhattan very quickly.||Was only there for one night, so I didn’t make use of the kitchen, but it did look clean and well equipped. Lots of storage space and fridge space to keep your food as well.||There was a little back garden area as well, which looked very nice.||Would recommend and stay here again.

This place is wonderful. I loved everything about it. It had a genuinely warm and friendly atmosphere. I don’t want to say anything negative about it at all, but I will say if anyone has knee pain, you may want to mention that to someone before arrival because you may have to walk up four flights of stairs to get to your room. I will be recommending this hostel to everyone I know and will 100% return if I ever make it back to New York.

I had a great time at the International Student Center Hostel. Some great vibes there!||The staff were very kind and helpful, and the actual building is very beautiful and historic. I love the garden, too. Everyone staying there was very respectful as well.||The area (Upper West Side) also felt very safe with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the subway. Being right next to Central Park was also a major plus.||Thanks for having me!!

Great service, was delighted to stay here. The Lounge Area was perfect to hang around. The Kitchen was clean and tidy and had all the essentials needed. I would definitely come back on my next visit. The Hostel is located very close to the central park and the City with easy options to commute.

The hostel is located in a lovely neighbourhood near Central Park. The area was peacful and within walking distance to times square. We had a pleasant stay at the hostel and everyone was super kind and friendly to us. We slept there for one night only but it seems like a place where one could stay for a longer time. The common room areas were also really nice and it seemed that the hostel offers some great activities for it’s guests.

The ambience is exactly what travellers and backpackers can enjoy. A beautiful stay right next to Central Park. It reminded me a lot of plenty of hostels in Europe, where I backpacked recently. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the facilities were clean and nicely decorated. And my fellow travellers were super nice! Definitely recommended!

+ good rules|+ living room was nice|+ The rule is that after 10 PM you have to be quit. That was a great rule and it worked. |- there was another guy in my bed. He told me that the people of the hostel told him that it was his bed even though I had the keys of that bed. Was quite annoying |- they charge you if you want to keep your bags safe.|- Wifi does not work in the rooms
