Where to Stay in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I found this to be a safe, well-maintained youth hostel with basic amenities and a free daily breakfast; there’s a welcoming common room for hanging out, though the dorm bunks are basic and not super comfy, and you must be under 30 to stay here." - Matthew Kepnes

i stayed here for a few nights with two of my friends, and i strongly advise to stay away from this hostel unless absolutely necessary. the 24-hour reception and the location near the city centre were great and promising, but stepping into the room was quite a shock. the cell-like room we stayed in had a pungent smell of moisture and mold, so we had to keep the window and door open all the time. upon arrival, we checked the beds for bed bugs and found blood stains on the mattresses. the bed linen was clean, however the pillows had a sour smell, and although cleaning apparently took place during the day, it didn’t seem to make a difference. two of the safes in the room didn’t work either. on a more positive note, the floors were clean and the showers were functioning. it has to be said that there are no amenities, so bring your own towels and toiletries. the breakfast was good and consisted of a cup of coffee, some fresh bread and a microwavable pastry. what we found slightly unnerving and frankly concerning was the fact that despite being advertised as a youth hostel, there were many mid-30s men hanging around the hostel. when checking out, we were shown a luggage room that the staff promised would be locked. when we came back a few hours later to retrieve our luggage, the door to the luggage room was open and our bags were moist from the moldy room they had been in. overall, staying here was a tough experience. we tried to minimize the time spent at the hostel, which made this a decent place to stay at. i still wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Only for young people below 30 years old. The people who work there are very polite and helpful, they speak many languages. Location is great, close to everything. Bar and restaurant just in front of. But there is no possibility to enter the rooms from 11-15 o'clock, when the rooms are cleaned

Rooms are okay, aren't the biggest but the key comment for this place is "you get what you paid for" it's not a fancy hotel, the rooms aren't super comfortable, the showers are okay but not ideal and the breakfast is just a baguette with yam. But for the price it's decent so I can't complain that much. Tho the thing that I would actually complain about which a lot of other reviewers do is that you have to leave the room between 10 am and 3 pm, or 11 am to 3 pm. I don't know, it says different things at different places in the Hostel. But the rooms are okay and I don't think that people expect more.

We booked before realising it is a hostel for ages under 30 only! I messaged, apologising and asking for a refund. They let us stay! V good service. Top bunk was a small challenge for a 73 year old. Great location. Clean facilities.

For the money I've spent to book the room, it was worth it. For me ultimately, I just had to spend a night, may be few hours of sleep, nothing fancy. You're in Paris, you'd be enjoying the night life, and if you're a frequent traveller, this hostel is the most friendly and budget oriented one. The two bedroom I got didn't have much noise isolation. But for a few hours of sleep, this is enough. Also the help and support given by the staff for keeping our baggage etc were appreciable.

If possible, avoid this hostel at all costs! 1. BIGGEST RED FLAG: They have the weirdest rule that you cannot enter the room from 11am to 3pm because of cleaning, when in reality they barely did anything. Even if you had a night out (it's a youth hostel after all!) or you are sick, they do not care and will force you to get out like you are an underaged or something! 2. RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE: One of their employees, named Pastelle, is really rude, has no respect towards the customer even if we approached her nicely. She completely doesn't know how to work in hospitality and ruins the environment that other employees trying to keep. She was also interrogating us why we didn't come back the whole night like it is her business to let her know what we are doing. Either do better Pastelle or hospitality is not for you... On the positive side: price, location is very good, the rest of the staff are also very nice and helpful! [two stars for these points] In general, the effed up rule and the rude employee completely ruined the vibe of our stay and I definitely suggest avoiding this hostel at all costs until these points are changed. A hostel with great potential but self-destructive policies.

Obviously the receptionist is a cool guy his name was Ahmad, very friendly, hospitable person with great attitude. To be honest it’s worth it to give 5 star review just for him.

This place is very very nice! The location is awesome and close to the important things in Paris. Walls are a little thin, but after walking so much you just fall asleep right away. Also the "cleaning time" thing isnt even so bad, there are a lot of markets and stuff open at that time.
