International Youth Hostel

I booked this hotel for one night by mistake, selecting the wrong date. I realized the error and canceled the reservation just a few minutes later. Despite the immediate cancellation, the hotel refused to issue any refund. I understand cancellation policies, but in this case the cancellation was made almost instantly, and no service was used or impacted. A more flexible and customer-friendly approach would have been appreciated. This experience was disappointing, and I recommend future guests double-check dates carefully, as no consideration was shown for honest booking errors.

First, the pros. The location is nice. The place is cheap. The ability to book private rooms is nice. The desk has 24 hour service. The wifi isn't horrible. The breakfast is free. Now cons. The rooms are falling apart. There's no sinks in the bathrooms and no soap to wash our hands with where there are sinks. It's impossible to get sheets without renting before 730pm. They kick you out of your room between 10am and 3pm for cleaning and you're just not allowed in your room that you paid for. The key system at this hotel is weird and you have to give the key back to the front desk everytime you leave the hostel; there's also only 1 key per room which kinda just raises so many functioning questions. And the showers omg the showers. Not separated by sex, they are completely open to the floor with a saloon style door protecting the room. There's barely functioning showers in there and nothing else; no space to get changed or put a towel and the door lock does not provide much protection. People say this hostel is a "you get what you pay for" but we should at least have the decency to actually get what we pay for, which, with these cons, this place does not do.

This place should not be called a hotel. It feels more like an abandoned building that occasionally rents out rooms. The room was poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and clearly not cleaned properly before arrival. I genuinely questioned whether anyone checks these rooms at all. Customer service was shockingly bad. Staff showed zero interest in helping and seemed annoyed whenever spoken to. Any issue raised was brushed off with excuses instead of solutions. The overall atmosphere was unpleasant and stressful, not what anyone expects while traveling. The price paid was completely unjustified — there are far better options nearby for half the cost. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere. This stay was a huge regret.

This was one of the most disappointing hostel experiences we’ve ever had — and it completely ruined our short visit to Paris. We arrived after traveling overnight from Germany, with my wife unwell, and simply asked for an earlier check-in so she could rest and shower. There were rooms clearly ready, but the staff refused to help in any way and hid behind the “3pm policy.” No effort. No flexibility. No empathy. We weren’t even staying the night — just a few hours. On top of that, we were charged an extra “tourist tax,” which only added to the frustration. What shocked us most was the attitude: cold, dismissive, and completely indifferent to a sick guest. Policies seemed more important than basic humanity. For a city that thrives on tourism, this was unacceptable. We left feeling stressed, exhausted, and genuinely let down. I would not recommend this hostel, especially to travelers on tight schedules or anyone who expects even the smallest amount of care.

Very bad stay, absolutely not recommended. The hostel is in very poor condition: old, poorly maintained facilities, extremely basic rooms, and a lack of essential amenities. Cleanliness is unsatisfactory, with too few bathrooms and frequent long waiting times. Noise was a major issue. Guests and neighbors were loud late into the night, with no management intervention, making sleep almost impossible. The worst part was the reception staff. They were rude, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. A refund request was refused without discussion. Additionally, around 11:00 p.m., staff repeatedly knocked on our door and forced us to leave, claiming they needed to clean, which is unacceptable at such an hour. Overall, poor management, poor service, and poor quality. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it.

Really lovely place. Only stayed for a night but the reception allowed us to store our luggage there from before check in to after check out. Very accommodating and very friendly about everything we asked for that was above and beyond really. It was a last minute, emergency accommodation but they provided very willingly. The reception/ food hall section provided free use of microwaves, chargers and seating. The included continental breakfast was almost like a school trip, a tray with a demi-baguette, a madeleine, butter, apricot jam, orange juice and a mug to fill with a hot drink of your liking. All very fun and very efficient. The room we had was a private one with a bathroom, didn’t really look like much but it was functional and provided everything we needed. Only one plug, but there were a lot downstairs so would recommend spending some time there if phones need charging etc. All in all felt very safe and hospitable.

This hotel was an absolute nightmare and completely ruined my trip. From the moment I checked in, everything went downhill. The room was filthy — stained bedsheets, dirty floors, and a horrible smell that never went away. Housekeeping was either nonexistent or clearly didn’t care. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and acted like guests were a burden rather than customers. Any request was met with attitude or ignored entirely. Basic hospitality was completely missing. Facilities advertised online were either broken or did not exist at all. The bathroom was in terrible condition, with poor water pressure and questionable cleanliness. Noise levels were unbearable, making it impossible to sleep. This hotel is massively overpriced for what it offers. Photos online are misleading and do not reflect reality in any way. I strongly advise anyone reading this to stay somewhere else unless you enjoy wasting money and dealing with frustration. I will never return.

What you pay is what you get. The pros of this hostel were being able to book a private room for just us, the 24h reception and the location. However, the cons vastly outweigh the pros. We booked a 2 bed dorm, knowing the bathroom/shower were separate. We were given a room on the ground floor, the door of which was outside so leaving in the middle of the night to use the toilet meant walking out into the rain. The communal showers are an absolute disgrace, with no privacy at all and no place to leave your clothes/change when using them. The free "breakfast" consisted of a bread roll, a tiny pastry and coffee/tea. You got 1 of everything and then were charged for extras (except the drink). In our room, the WiFi was pretty much non-existent and our normal data didn't work well either. It's a fine hostel if you want to do cheap and book a room with a private bathroom, but otherwise I'd stay away.
