Like a lot of people, we stayed here for a night while walking the West Highland Way. We got here about 8pm at the end of the walk from Drymen, and after those last few miles walking along forest paths in fading light, the welcome here was genuinely wonderful. We were offered a pickup by car from the hotel at the bottom of the road. I'm not certain if they always do that, but it was really welcome.||The stay here was a good experience all round. The building itself is lovely, with some gorgeous stained glass. The guys working here were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fairly basic but the food we had for dinner was great. There's also a fridge with plenty of good beer you can serve yourself from. They'll sell you a packed lunch for the next day's walk, which is great since there are no shops around. The accomodation is nice for what it is, and it felt like good value.||I genuinely really liked this place. Out of all the places that we stayed on our WHW trip this is the one I most remember fondly.||The only thing I'd mention as useful info is not to get there too late. When we went, the kitchen was last orders at 8:30. That's completely fair given the small scale they're working on, but it might catch you out if you're walking into the evening like we were. There's not really any other options for getting a meal around here, so be careful.

One word: GEM! This might have been one of the nicest and overall best hiker's hostels I have ever stayed at! Beautiful/cute old Chappell which has been converted to a tidy, modern and gorgeous hostel with a very nice vibe! Especially dinner and breakfast cannot be recommended and talked about enough! One small heads up: Don't be as foolish as we were...call them once you arrive at the bottom of the hill, apparently there is a shuttle service to get to the top (which we didn't know... ;) )

Went for a meal after a day of hiking the West Highland Way. What a find. Cozy and chic. Danish partner says very hyggeligt. Excellent food and friendly staff. . A long hike to get there but when you are in the area it is a great discovery. |Both our meals were excellent and reappeared good value. .

After 2 days of hiking the West Highland Way we arrived here. It felt like paradise to us after some tough days of hiking and wildcamping. |We stayed on the campsite which was a lovely small place that looked like a garden. The showers were even better than mine at home and it was all very clean. |You absolutely can’t skip the restaurant because the food that they serve is simply amazing, and also for a affordable price. |The people that are working there are so kind and made us really feel at home. We had a hard time leaving in the end.|I almost never write reviews but this place deserves at least 5 stars!

After three days of hiking with the last day full of injuries, we managed to arrive to the bunkhouse (campsite). We only planned to stay here for one night but immediately fell in love with this place. The welcoming and very friendly staff (and owners), the food and the facilities were everything that we needed. A warm shower, drying room and a restaurant with amazing food. |We enjoyed it so much that we chose to stay another night. The next day we planned to do nothing and just sit around but one of the owners had a chat with us and invited us to make use of their kayak. ||If you’re walking the West Highland Way and are looking for a nice place to rest around Inversnaid I would honestly reccomend this place to everyone. Make sure you try to have diner in the bistro aswell because the food is awesome too!

Fantastic set up just off the west highland way. Staff are very friendly and helpfull. Rooms were fully booked but were allowed to camp in garden at a small fee £15/person. With this we were allowed access to toilets and showers. Restaurant is absolutely fantastic. 10/10 for the chef. Who after a technical problem allowed us to borrow his wireless charging dock to give us a mobile phone for aid with our walk. Couldn't be more thankfull for a night there. 5 ⭐️

That's a little pearl in the Loch Lomond area. Everyone can find affordable accommodation (book in advance as the place gets busy). Food tasted amazing. The staff was super welcoming and caring. They have a nice selection of IPA and ALE beers. The rooms were very clean and kept to the high standards. Highly recommend not only for a night stay but also to get a nice meal and a beer after the hike in the local area. You nailed it, guys 👌🏻

I edited my original review which was 3 stars, as it seems they took what I (and others) wrote to heart and corrected the initial shortcoming and really do things right now. My edit was based on reading more recent reviews and seeing that the initial shortcomings no longer apply. Love to hear how it has been improved. There are things that the host and owners apparently did to greatly improve this to a landmark hiking stay along the West Highland Way. The building, a former church, is a wonderful and interesting stay that just adds to the hiker experience. The rooms are small, but they are functional for their purpose, which is sleeping. There is a small hangout lounge in the upper floor (part of the restaurant) and also outside under a tent with a television. We ordered three different meals off the dinner menu and each one was outstanding. These were the parts we loved. The only rub the bathroom stalls seemed inadequate for the number of rooms and guest. it is also noteworthy that one has to go outside to a back building to take a shower. For the parts that was corrected by the owner according to other more recent reviews, when we stayed initially the breakfast was very light and nothing of substance, lunch was also very skimpy. This was a big problem for those hiking the WHW as your left hunger, got hungrier, ate your bagged lunch early and still was hungry. This seems to be corrected with proper breakfast options and a full sized lunch made for hiker hunger. But I will add this - Please inquire about the breakfast and lunch when you reserve as I did not have it since they apparently upgraded it. If it's not to your liking you may be able to have breakfast and a packed lunch arranged the day before at the big hotel at the bottom of the hill. But from other reviews it seems like this is no longer a problem (but ask). Happy trails
