Ionas Boutique Hotel

The Ionas Boutique Hotel is a beautiful historic landmark and in a great location. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed. The owner and staff at the hotel were very warm and welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would definitely highly recommend Ionas Boutique Hotel and look forward to returning.

You have to ring ahead to get entry, part time reception only. Shown to room by reception, then he left the hotel after 2 minutes of showing us around. We booked through Booking.com and the rooms/ views were great including the reviews - NOT WHAT WE GOT! The shower was so small your arms hit the walls, you had bend over the toilet to get to the sink, the bed was a rock on a wooden frame! The balcony just fitted 2 of us with great views of a wall with a window! Breakfast? No one to complain to as they had left for the night (at 1700) Very misleading pics of room etc. Not worth $150 overnight.

A beautifully restored hotel in the middle of the traffic free, old Turkish quarter in the centre of Chania. A family run business where care for guests is the priority. Lovely rooms, superb breakfasts and a delightful roof garden. Spitting distance from several excellent restaurants and close to the harbour. We really didn't want to leave.

We absolutely loved the Ionas Boutique Hotel. It is in a perfect location in the old town in Hania. The morning breakfast on the patio is just amazing. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The accommodations overall were great. Highly recommend!

The rudest manager/staff I’ve ever met in a hotel in any country.||||I came to the entrance of the open courtyard garden where people were taking breakfast. I asked politely,‘may I just come in for a coffee?’ to which she replied, ‘yes, of course’. Halfway through my coffee a woman sitting at another table called out to me, without walking to my table, or even standing up, ‘are you staying in the hotel?’ I said no. ‘You shouldn’t be here then. This is only for hotel guests!’ ||||I told her that I had asked the waitress if I could come in just for a coffee. (I suppose a resident wouldn’t hover outside the open gate, waiting for permission.) ‘Did you tell her you’re an ‘outsider’? ||||‘What would you like me to do?’, I asked politely. ||||‘Don’t repeat.’||||Wow!

The Ionas Boutique Hotel was wonderful! The people were lovely, welcoming and very helpful. They organized our rental car for us for a day trip to the beach and our breakfasts each morning were fantastic! So much delicious food and the patio dining is a perfect way to start each day. The ladies made delicious lattes and the room we had was absolutely stunning, like right out of a fairy tale (was the Superior Suite) I had a four post bed and the most lovely little vanity. Taking a bath at the end of a long day of exploring the city, with the top window open to hear to sounds of people chatting and soft live music from the restaurant patios outside made for a wonderfully zen way to get sleepy.|Thank you for a fabulous vacation!

This Boutique Hotel has history and charm!!! It has a fabulous location too! Best of all was Sofiana and her brother! They took our calls at all times, directed us fabulously and booked trips and helped us find great authentic food! They took care of the details, meeting us out in the street when we arrived late, provided beach towels and walking sticks and just an overall welcoming experience. Staying here made us feel like part of the family.

Pros|* Truly is a family-run, boutique, hotel. Run with love.|* Gorgeous building in perfect location, easy to walk around old town and to/from Venetian Harbour, yet not too noisy.|* Powerful shower and good towels, beach towel is provided.|* Great service from Sofronia both before and during our stay.|* Good quality linens.|* Could sleep with the windows open for fresh air.||Cons|* Couple of restaurants nearby meant you could hear conversations till midnight, but then quiet till 10am. However, given the central location, probably quieter than most other places around.
