Ionia Hotel Skopelos

This is a beautiful hotel and definitely want to go back,the staff are amazing and nice. The breakfast is lovely and enough choice. The room overlooking the pool was a delight and the room was cleaned every day and fresh towels. If you asked anything of the staff they were happy to help. Reading some of other reviews, I honestly don't know what people want today,obviously some people just like to complain about anything. The hotel was perfect in every way and perfect location. Definitely returning to this hotel.

Great location in Skopelos Town. Clean rooms although I had to ask for our beds to be changed after our first week of two.. However the air con was extremely noisy which meant you needed earplugs to sleep. Sunbeds were never available and only a few actually got the sunshine. |Not much atmosphere in the hotel.|Breakfast was ok but the same every day. Tea coffee juices ham cheese boiled eggs small selection of cereal yoghurt fruit.|Given it's prime position a refurb of the rooms (old fashioned and no tea/ coffee facilities) and an upgrade to the air con could make this a much better hotel.|The island is great and we used the buses to travel around. We also went on a great boat trip ( small boat just 10 guests) which visited allonisis and many coves.

We are currently staying at the Ionia, it's immaculately clean, friendly attentive staff, great location, the rooms are basic but well looked after, only thing missing is being able to make a cuppa, skopelos is beautiful island and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay for the price, well done Ionia love it 🥰

We had a great 10 night stay at the Ionia in Skopelos (Mum, Dad and 13 year old son). | It's very central and a very short (downhill) walk to the main area. Skopelos itself is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. ||All the staff at The Ionia were lovely, they work very hard and keep the hotel very tidy. Breakfast is good and the pool bar does sandwiches, salads and some hot food for lunch. Drinks were very good also. ||The pool area is great. The pool itself is very big for a smallish hotel, not a lot of sun loungers but enough and people were very good at not 'hogging' them if they weren't staying around the Pool. There's plenty of shade and we did see some umbrellas come out while we were there.||The only downside for me was the bathroom. It's tiny. That in itself is not the issue but certainly in the room we stayed it needed some work on it to make it more usable. A wet room would solve the issue given the size of the room. ||Other than that we absolutely loved the Ionia and would not hesitate at all to stay again. We definitely intend to visit both the Ionia and Skopelos itself again.

Great hotel and great location, so close to the shops, bars and harbour. The place is kept clean well run by friendly staff that never stop working. The reception staff went over and above to sort out a mistake that I had made when booking our room, a solution soon resolved the problem. They also helped with locating a lost phone that we had left in restaurant in Glossa, which was much appreciated. The pool is clean and never overcrowded with a friendly vibe. The music is easy listening and relaxing. There are plenty of trip boats, ferries, busses, car/bike hire for exploring Skopelos and adjoining islands. We enjoyed sightseeing during the day and then returning to have a swim in the pool and relax. Our evening would be going out for a meal and then returning for a nightcap at the bar with George serving great drinks and excellent taste in music. Perfect Holiday

LOVE THIS PLACE !!!|We fell in love the first time so we booked it again. |Amazing hotel with fantastic staff. |Not too busy not to quiet. |The pool area is just what you need. The pool water is fresh and very cooling on your hot skin after sunbathing. The snack bar is covered with a big tree to keep it shaded so you can stay out of the midday sun. Plenty of drinks and snack options. |It’s basic hotel but it’s always spotless and service is impeccable. |The bartender George has a great sense of humour and is very accommodating. We spend many nights sat under the big tree with a drink or two. Would 100% come again and again.

Lovely location but impossible to get a sun bed. So many rooms and far too few beds. There appeared to be a German invasion too as at 8-9 am almost all the beds had towels placed upon them ! I know many reviews indicate this but it’s simply not addressed. Incredibly rowdy when our Greek/American friends came and you’d have thought there was a riot happening, again not addressed and many of the residents stayed away from the pool altogether especially the more elderly residents. ||However, the rooms were very clean, the shower room was spotless and the quality of the rooms was exceptional. Best mattress I’ve ever slept on. The setting was exceptional and the appearance of a Roman bath house was also beautiful. Reception were very helpful at all times and their willingness to assist you pre American invasion was great too.||Would I go again ? Well NO unfortunately as too many anomalies given we paid for the privilege of accessing a sun bed and expected a little peace but this simply didn’t materialise. But it is a beautiful place in a lovely position within Skopelos town and very accessible to all areas and the superb restaurants and shops. Would I go to the resort again ? ABSOLUTELY; but not here.
