Absolutely loved Ios island. Beautiful authentic chora, lovely beaches and wonderful hiking trails. Don't miss walking up to the 3 churches for amazing views. Also hike from Chora to Profits Ilia's. Beautiful walk and more incredible views

Beautiful island with not much to do outside July and august. The beaches were beautiful and nearly deserted. This would be an island I would go back to in the summer when all the parties are happening. Many very tasty restaurants and a very hip shopping area. To bad all the night clubs were closed.

Stunning island visited in low season and it’s incredible! Hired a car and traveled the whole Island. There are some stunning Airbnb’s on Island which have some incredible views. Some amazing eateries on Island as well. I would come here again in a heartbeat in the high season to see if it compares. Definitely recommend hiring a vehicle of some sort to explore this wonderful island. Would definitely recommend this Island.

Beautiful Island with beautiful beaches. Chora is really beautiful town with lots of restaurants, we especially loved one with live music. We regret that we only stayed there for 4 days and went to Santorini for the next 4 days. Ios was much much better that this famous Santorini.

Did you know that only 53 km form Santorini you can find beautiful island of Ios. It belongs to the Cyclades in the Aegean sea. Ios was my discovery of last year. If you are going to Ios in off party season, you will find gorgeous quiet and peaceful island with white beaches, lots of good restaurants, spectacular Chora of Ios, that is not so crowded as Santorini and amazing sunset views. You can enjoy sunset form Ios Chora hill (Chapel of Agios Nikolaos) or visit one of sunset bars with infinity pool, good music and drinks. I was at Alma sunset Ios bar and I can recommend it. Last year I came in beginning of June, this year in end of August both times was memorable and I am sure that I will go there again and again. Ios is easy accessible by ferry. Just choose one of the companies: Blue Star Ferry, Seajet, Golden Star or Zante Ferries. I would suggest to book the hotel next to the beach, but hey - if you like city stay at Ios Chora it is very close to the beach. If you want to go around the island you can go with public transportation https://ktel-ios.gr - it is clean, comfy and cheap. My favourite place for breakfast: Cantina del mar, for diner time “The Nest” at Chora. Take a leap, go to Ios, you will not regret it!

In 2021 I was doing Island hopping for the first time and last stop was Ios. Since then I am coming here every year. Here is what I found are the best things to do when coming for the first time: -Mylopotas beach (party at farout club and beach bar) -Pathos club (Must see for sunset-this place is boogie af) -Alma sunset bar (best service and incredible relaxed vibe for sunsets) -karma restaurant (service is not the best but you have to try the Misto Italiano) -calilo Hotel (most exclusive Hotel on the island- we are also broke so don’t worry you can still visit this part of the island by car or quad(very intense drive from ios Chora but it was fun though) and pay 50€ for two people to enter the pool section and enjoy the resort) -yummy is a great gyros pita restaurant near the Chora Main Street -innioranza is a small boutique in Chora with very beautiful accessories for very little money. Buying new chains every year since they are stainless steel and very high quality (price per chain is 15€) If you want to know which places not to visit just check my other reviews, I was very consistent with it this time:)

Ios is a Cycladic island of the Aegean Sea. It is also called "Nios" by the locals who are respectively called "Niots".Ios got its name in antiquity from the word Ia, that is, the flowers that grew abundantly on the island. In other words its name Ios owes it to the Phoenician word Ios, which means heap of stones. Initially Ios seems to have been inhabited by the Kares and later by the Minoans, Achaeans and Phoenicians, who left the island. In fact, Ios was known as Phoenician. In the 10th century BC century Ionians occupy the island. According to Herodotus in Ios, his mother's homeland, Homer was buried.
