Ipanema Inn

Ipanema Inn has been one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The hotel is not only beautifully designed, spotless, and extremely comfortable, but the service, from the front desk to the restaurant, was truly exceptional. Special shoutout to Henrique (hoping I’m spelling it correctly), who was outstanding throughout my stay. They provide beach towels and have a partnership with a beach tent where guests receive complimentary chairs, an umbrella, and a table, plus discounted drink prices—an amazing bonus. The hotel was also very accommodating with early check-in and late check-out, which made a big difference. Breakfast was included and absolutely delicious, with plenty of options. Even the chocolate left in the room was incredible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ipanema Inn, and I’ll definitely be staying here again when I return. Keep up the great work, Ipanema Inn is a gem. Thank you!

We loved our experience and especially loved the attentive service! This hotel already had everything (beach towels, DELICIOUS breakfast included, amenities) but João was so delightful. He helped us and was so patient, kind, generous, and helpful. He knew the menu at the restaurant inside and out, had advice for everything we asked, sorted us out with beach towels before we even asked, and was just a pleasure to be around. The location of the hotel was fantastic and the rooms were everything we needed. Highly recommend.

A beautiful boutique hotel in an amazing location - it’s just a 2-minute walk to Ipanema beach and in the heart of Ipanema’s best shops and restaurants. ||In addition, the rooms were very clean, room service speedy, and the hotel restaurant had a great ambience and delicious food. ||Most notably, the staff were friendly, kind, and went above and beyond to accommodate us, including packing us lunches for a day excursion. ||Could not recommend this hotel highly enough, and will be back for sure!

Well located hotel and a lovely restaurant/bar. Right by ipanema beach and the neighbourhood hood had lots to offer and felt very safe. Shower was exceptional. Was a bit loud on one of our nights due to other guests but the hotel offered to move us quickly to another room.

Unbeatable location just a block from Ipanema beach, felt safe in the neighborhood. Great breakfast options a la carte, though some items were smaller on the portion size. Very friendly and helpful staff, they packed a better than average bag breakfast on our last day as we had an early flight. Wish housekeeping would vacuum the floors daily as we tracked in a lot of sand from the beach but this was a very minor issue. Highly recommend this hotel!

If you come to Rio for the beach and sights - it’s a perfect choice. It’s located in the heart of Ipanema and is just 2 min from the sea. Rooms and design are clean and wonderful. We felt right at home and safe. They have their own beach service. Breakfasts are the best - you can choose 2 dishes, drinks and coffee from the menu included - and best coffee we’ve had in the whole Brazil. Staff is very nice and helpful. Plenty of good restaurants nearby, we recommend to check Zaza. Overall the area feels quite safe. The price could be lower taken into account the construction work in the neighbouring building which our room windows faced. And there is nor a poor or it’s private territory, so if the weather is bad by the sea there is not much to do.

The staff was wonderful! I watched in amazement as Kai spoke perfect English to us at breakfast, then spoke perfect Spanish to the couple at the next table, and then spoke Portuguese to her coworkers! And, it was all done with a smile. A special shoutout to João who went out of his way to help my daughter-in-law when she was on her way to a family wedding. 🙂 Thank you!

I really like Ipanema Inn. I believe this is the fourth time I’ve stayed there in the past two years. Location is excellent, both for vacation as for business trip. The people who work there are the kindest! This time, unfortunately, I got a room on the third floor and it was very noisy and I didn’t sleep as well as my other stays. Other than that, everything was great.

Great location but lack of service and attention to customer. Could be a gem if they improve the service. I arrived with luggage and no one to help get from the taxi. Only one person working at the reception. Still the location is the selling point

Chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. The rooms and hotel are very clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and speak fluent english, spanish as well as the native language, Portuguese. Half a block to the beach and close to everything. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel and have enjoyed it very much. Clean, nice staff and a good free breakfast. However, this review is for the restaurant. We had dinner here because our previous plans fell through. The food was excellent. My wife had the catch of the day over risotto. I had prawn and octopus over mashed plantains. Both dishes were very good. The staff was attentive and very friendly. Don't let the fact that this restaurant is in a hotel deter you from giving it a try. We were pleasantly surprised.

Five star experience at 3 star hotel! What a great little place for the budget traveller! Located right next to the beach, the Ipanema Inn is a little jewel in Rio. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised how much we got for such a great rate. The service was friendly and fantastic and the breakfast was so delicious. The waitress Isabela is both beautiful and speaks fluent English which helps. The crepes were just as good as any I've had in France. That being said, the amenities are few and far between. You definitely will need to bring your own specialty soaps, shampoos, etc if you need, however the hotel is within walking distance of a pretty well stocked supermarket. Lastly, I felt safe there as the area is pretty popular and touristy

Service and attitude were great across the board. Genuine smiles from everyone combined with a willingness to assist with every need. Genesio and the team there are simply a model for true hospitality! Nice clean restaurant with an elegant and well assembled breakfast.

Great hotel in a perfect location with a lovely staff. This five star review is primarily for the breakfast (comes with the room) which was literally the best I've ever had at a hotel. Incredible array of juices (seriously those alone in the U.S. would be worth like $10 each - there were delicious and interesting combos like carrot and orange juice and everything was super fresh) - fruits, cheeses, freshly-made pastries plus any type of eggs imaginable to order - I can't even do it justice you just have to experience this breakfast.
