Iraipe Ongi Hotel

One star experience from a one star hotel. Due to the noisy bar attached the hotel, air conditioning not functioning and other guests trying to get into our room at 3am by mistake, we did not get to sleep until 4am after going to bed before midnight. The hotel prioritises their disco bar which doesn't quiet down until 2-3am and doesn't care about their guests. No apology in the morning, the receptionist said that the bar was more important. No refund. Don't stay here.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at Hotel Ongi. The staff at Reception were helpful and my room and bathroom was very clean, and I think my standards are pretty high in this department. Towels and soaps etc were provided free of charge. The included breakfast was great, and the free wifi speed was 18mb down and 12mb down which was perfect. The single beds were "Spanish Size" - that's a little short for 6'3ft. For only 32 Euro a night over the weekend special... I'd go back for sure.

A nice find with a nicest, kindest owner. The lady gave us a choice of a room, was more than eager to provide information and offered quite an exuberant breakfast that was served in a charming, nicely decorated leisure room. ||Wi-Fi was free and worked very well, the room was big and had enough light with a lovely view over the old town. Unlike many similar places the hotel has a lift! ||It was very affordable, well managed and offered that extra care that matters when you're on the road. ||There are a number of parking places in the street (on the side of the bar) so you can have your car under the window for free. ||We got nice chocolates to check in. The place is a bit old fashioned, but certainly has its style.

Always been impressed by this little hotel. It is very affordable, the rooms are clean and bathrooms sanitized, and you really can't hear the downstairs bar from the rooms, even on the most rowdy party nights. Very peaceful, full-sized baths, WiFi, and TV in each room.

Cozy, clean. The only hotel bar in town where you can have after midnight drink during the week. Don't have minibars and hair dryer in rooms (just something to know before you pick the hotel). Friendly hosts.

Stayed in this hotel for one night in july 2017. Room was very clean and quiet, The owner was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent.What else do you want for such a low price?.The small city has quite some history. Highly recommended .

I was booked into Hotel Ongi for a business trip so immediately went online and had a look. I was straight on the phone to the company who had booked the hotel "what the hell are you doing sending me to a one star hotel" I exclaimed. "Trust me" he replied. So I spent four days in Onati and I've got to say this was the most fantastic business trip I've had in years!!!! Hotel Ongi was not the picture of modernity that most travellers wish for but for what it lacked in flat screen televisions it more than made up for in charm, character, cleanliness and most of all service. The room was spotless every day. The bathroom roomy, functional and impeccably clean. The owners and staff could not be more hospitable. All in all Hotel Ongi gets 5 stars from me.

This is a splendid small hotel in Onati, clean friendly and well placed in the centre of the town. I think it was about 30E for bed and breakfast for a single. Check out Onati for a beautiful little town with an arcaded central square and lots of interesting buildings, pretty scenery and good walks around. Helpful tourist office. About 1 hour bus ride from Bilbao.
