Irene Buffa is the kind of place that ruins you for every other vintage shop. It is a luxury gallery of fashion history, curated with the sharpest eye for detail and style. Walking in, you are instantly surrounded by treasures: Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, and even rarities from Hermès and Dior that feel like they belong in a museum but are here, within reach. The collection of bags is staggering, each one in impeccable condition, and the racks are filled with pieces that prove why certain designers are called the very best in the world.
On my first pass through the store, I found a pair of Comme des Garçons pants that fit perfectly—clean lines, cool edge, and at a fraction of what they’d cost in the United States. It felt like stumbling upon a secret, the kind of find vintage lovers dream about. The staff is warm and knowledgeable, and Irene herself is present, guiding customers with the ease of someone who has lived in this world for years. There’s no stuffiness here, just enthusiasm and expertise.
This is easily one of the best shopping experiences in Mexico City, and arguably worth a trip on its own. For those not making the journey, they ship internationally, which makes the dream accessible wherever you are. If you love vintage but expect the highest standards of curation, this is your destination.
