Customer service was terrible and poor. You'll literally wait 1 - 2 hours before waiters update you on your orders. It is just frustrating and not worth it spending your quality time with families and friends. Writers and staff need proper guidance and training in order to provide great customer service care

If you're looking for a resort style accommodation, this isn't it, but for work or brief stays, the IBS is fine. Most of the rooms have a stunning view of the ocean, though, and that is more than worth it. The facilities inside are basic, and the bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation and repair (my shower door was broken), but the housekeeping is excellent, often going the extra mile, and the staff are all very helpful and lovely. ||The wifi was out when I was there, but was told that even when it's on the wifi doesn't reach the rooms, so buy a local SIM card - Vodafone only, do not buy a Telekom sim as their network has poor reliability. ||I'd happily stay there again, as long as I have some transport as its out of central town, while only a 15 minute walk, females should avoid walking around town at night. ||There is a small fridge and a kettle with a coffee sachet, no tea or milk. There is a store across the street for basics.||The monarch bar and restaurant has a fantastic vibe and view, with happy hour and live music most evenings. There is also a good Chinese restaurant there. Your meals are limited to those spots, plus basic breakfasts cooked onsite up near reception that they'll bring to your room on request. ||Ultimately very basic but clean accommodation and linen, with safe and secure rooms and requisite air conditioning. The people really made all the difference.

Went to IBS a couple of times to dine in their outdoor restaurant. They have tasty oven-roasted pizza at affordable prices and a great outdoor atmosphere to enjoy your meal in. ||||They had friendly staff however their food service was a bit slow and might need to be improved. We waited a while for our food orders to be served and delivered to our tables.||||Overall, this is a wonderful place for dining out. The live band performing every night is a plus, and if you want to stay there for dancing especially on Fridays and Saturdays - IBS is definitely the place to be!

restaurant & bar are great, location is great, but oh the rooms! - no hot water in shower, bar fridge had been ripped out and a full size fridge dumped in another part of the accommodation but no 'mini-bar' inside, mystery cords dangling from the ceiling, cold grey hard electric light, wood veneer flaking off the insides of doors, a 'window' type noisy aircon (haven't they heard of 'split' units?), painted surfaces dingy and grimy, and a terrible smell of mildew and mould. The staff were quite nice and it felt 'safe', but I am afraid until they renovate I shan't be back for quite a while

I find myself coming back to Iron Bottom Sound for many reasons, the facilities are great (comparitively speaking). The rooms have all you need just to keep you occupied, tea facilities; fridge, tv (but limited programs, don't bank on a multiple channel tv); air condition (it works) and a beautiful sea view (free of course). Also good access to one of Honiara's newest eatery across the street from the hotel. ||||The hotel is also near the important offices if you are here for a meeting, right next to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if that's your meeting spot...||||Rooms are cleaned daily and aso fresh towels daily. And for Honiara hotel costs with all its perks, this is a good deal. ||||Oh, you can free internet but only at the reception area, but do bring your mossies spray, they come out looking for a feast in the evening.

We had lunch here as a family of 3 and could not fault the service. The people were friendly, food was good and beer was cold. Plus its a good location with a very nice feel to it. Good spot for lunch or a drink and a popular hang out for expats on a riday and Saturday night.

The last time we visited IBS, service was abysmal, food mediocre, but there seems to have been a change of management or maybe the training has improved. We were treated to first class attentive service last night - food from the Chinese restaurant was excellent and delivered to our table by a helpful waitress. Good Chinese menu too. Keep on going in this right direction, IBS.. we need you to continue in the right direction.

New and clean rooms all with a sea view however my boat want floating.|Lacked a dining and common area and was sometimes hard to find staff. Will be a backup option if necessary. |I'm sure some of these things will get sorted as it is still very new.
