Super friendly and helpful staff - we felt very welcome visiting this cute coffee shop. I thoroughly enjoyed my snickerdoodle latte as we sat outside and enjoyed the Spring sun. A great menu with lots of choice - would recommend!

We visited Isabel's 3 days in a row on our visit to the island. Each day we were welcomed with friendly service, delicious coffees, and gluten-free options which suited us. We had the gluten-free brownies 2 days in a row for breakfast which paired marvelously with the coffee. Not only are the employees friendly but the local customers make it a hub for great conversation and atmosphere. If you sit on the porch on a cold fall day you'll find cushions and blankets to keep you warm which was a nice touch.

Google
Really enjoyable coffee and knowledgeable staff! Great atmosphere to chill with your coffee. Alone or with friends this is a great place to stop at on your adventures! Ps Pistachio white chocolate mocha latte with whip cream is absolutely delicious!

Google
I love the coffee here! You can't get the same taste of the island! We love the male barista with the long dreads....forgot his name but he is the nicest employee there! So friendly and personable! Super passionate about his job and people!

Google
A very cute little cafe with a few bakery items and an extensive coffee/tea menu. I came twice during my stay. I absolutely loved the specialty drink I ordered - a type of rose and pistachio latte. Delicious and beautiful presentation!

Google
Lovely stop for coffee on the island! Not only did they have a hearty breakfast option (thankfully as we were very hungry!) but the coffee was delicious, the outside seating was perfect and we chatted with the best local while we ate and sipped!

Flying Fish

Google
Neat little coffee shop. Only been once, so far. I liked it, the coffee was correctly made, they had some baked treats from a local bakery. Nice little place.

Amazing place! Friendly staff, adorable environment, yummy food, great drinks!!! I just had the best pistachio white mocha (iced) that I've ever had. Heavenly!

Yelp
really cute spot right in the heart of lopez with parking and plenty of space to park bikes and grab caffeine and carbs, savory or sweet. you can tell it's a place where locals are known and visitors are welcomed. friendly, quick service helps as well! pro tip: they have stuff from holly b's in their case so you can go straight here, grab a baked good and a warm beverage in the morning and be gone. i had the dog on a leash so only got baked goodies (since i didn't have enough arms to manage tea, bags of pastries and a dog) although my interest was seriously piqued by the fall special: a pear cardamom latte. there's tables outside on the covered deck and a couple inside for those who get there early. if holly b's happens to be closed or you wanna try somewhere else, this is an excellent choice that supports local business and gives you an excuse to slow down and just be.

Ree K.

Yelp
I love Isabel's. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the coffee is on point. Their mochas are so good, not too sweet and just chocolatey enough.

Alana K.

Yelp
I am obsessed with Isabel's rose cardamom latte. Not too sweet, superb coffee flavor, with subtle notes of rose and cardamom, just as it should be. There are a couple other coffee options in town, but we didn't make it to them because we'd already found perfection on our first day. Great patio to hunker down with a book or just people watch on a busy morning. Can't wait to return.

Allison R.

Yelp
If you want an amazing coffee experience at Lopez Village, go to Isabels! The staff are all very friendly; they even let our kids stay and play cards long after the delicious Italian sodas had been slurped down. They roast their own coffee beans and all of the drinks are amazing! It was hands-down the best coffee we had the entire time we were on the island.

Richard S.

Yelp
Great coffee, friendly service, and a delightful patio to relax on. What more could you want?

Lars F.

Yelp
Being the only coffee place on the island until a couple of months ago, it's more than a little astonishing that the owner thinks it a good business model to, on occasion, casually insult her customers. I don't know what personal calamity the owner endured while in Portland, but perhaps it would be good "business" to move on and leave it behind... After conferring with at least one former employee, that kind of casual caustic/toxic indifference wasn't limited to just customers, but to some staff as well. So if you like your coffee bitter with less than mild hints of "Soup Nazi" style customer service, hey, knock yourself out.

Tony A.

Yelp
Charming little coffee shop, and certainly the very best on Lopez Island. Isabel's is conveniently located near what passes for downtown on Lopez Island. The shop's flagship coffee is Fair Trade Organic from Chiapas, Mexico, and their espressos use direct trade beans from a fourth generation coffee farm in Quetzalenango Valley in Guatemala. Very friendly and welcoming place. Indoor and outdoor seating. Free wi-fi. The shop embodies the essence of the island's laid-back ambiance (though the barista's will make your cup in no time flat).

Dirt H.

Yelp
I'm a simple coffee guy. Nothing fancy, because of this it's impossible to hide bad coffee from me. This coffee (I believe it is roasted on this funny little island) is beautiful, flavorful and perfect. I took mine down to the beach just a few steps away and watched to boats coming and going. Hard to imagine better. Go to here!

jennifer b.

Yelp
We love Isabel's!! Amazing coffee, space and staff. It's our go to favorite place on island!!

Paul R.

Yelp
Medium cup with a dropped shot was just OK and Covid service a bit clumsy. Food looked good but mostly sold out.

tammie o.

Yelp
i just love you all for being on lopez . twice a year, i try to cycle camp & the thing i most look forward to is molly's bakery & isabel's. so, thank you very much for making amazing drinks & always being so friendly!

Katherine L.

Yelp
Everyone agrees- this place is adorable and delicious. When you want coffee or espresso, go to Isabel's. There is the added bonus of some local pastries, though nothing vegan and gluten free, the selection looks nice. This place also has freezes and milk shakes- oh yes!! Make em what you want to jazz up your caffeine or sweet tooth needs. Love it. They offer several non-dairy milk choices, which is nice: almond, soy, rice and coconut. Nice little coffee shop that I would not hesitate to visit when/if I can get back to Lopez Island.

Damon B.

Yelp
This is a fantastic coffeeshop to have available on such a small island. It's a real gem! We stopped in daily during our stay on Lopez. I have to admit that I only got milk drinks, never tried a black coffee pour over or anything like that. They have a special blend of roasted beans for their signature espresso drinks. They had great alternative milks available as well. The baked goods were also pretty solid. I enjoyed scones on several occasions. They have a pretty unique system for frequent customers that includes a filing box for all their frequent buyer cards. I thought it was a really cool touch. They also had a mug sharing program where you could take a porcelain mug and return it later on. There were a number of other food items that were pre-packaged, like granola bar style things. They sold local honey. And they had mugs produced for the shop by local artisans, which was a really nice touch. But most of all, everyone in the shop was so nice and warm. We had long conversations over coffee, with the baristas, with other customers. It was like Cheers for coffee (that's a television show about a group of friends at a Bar in Boston, for you millennials; and it's also a bar in Boston). Inside seating is limited but sufficient, and there's tons of outside seating as well. They also have plenty of parking and the grass around the shop has games like croquet. It's pretty great.

K. F.

Yelp
Lovely little coffee shop with surprisingly good coffee. Definitely recommend! Actually, I would choose this over about 95% of the coffee shops I've every been to.

Irene H.

Yelp
Appears to be for locals only. We couldn't even get them to make eye contact to take our order. Instead they chatted up and served a bunch of people they knew. JWent across the road to Lopez Coffee Shop instead. They were very friendly and the coffees great.

Brooke Q.

Yelp
My friends and I first came to the shop on a rainy day after not being able to find espresso powder for a cookie recipe at the grocery store. We told the barista and he was so kind to give us some despite being closed. We came back the next morning to get drinks. I got the London Fog/ Lopez Mist. Really delicious and balanced flavors between the vanilla and earl gray. Not overly sweet either-- I regretted getting an 8oz. It may be my favorite drink I've had in any coffee shop! My friends tasted my drink and even they were like, "Omg I'm getting that next time!" Really superb, friendly service and we will be back :)

Chewie N.

Yelp
The best coffee stop on the island. Very friendly service, knowledgeable staff, and cozy environment. I especially love their variation on the London Fog called the Lopez Mist. Good choice of gluten-free options and sweets (from the village restos). The house-made whip is amazing!!

Angela H.

Yelp
Best coffee EVER. Live south of Seattle and have been coming here since 2008! great staff as well highly recommend Isabel's for sure.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Great coffee and great service! Hubs went with a simple American with a splash of cream. I had the Miel honey cinnamon latte, which was so good! The flavorings weren't overly sweet and balanced the smooth coffee beautifully.

Shelby H.

Yelp
The Coffee at Isabel's is great! good selection of pastries and other treats to enjoy. The owner and staff are incredibly nice. I look forward to getting my Coffee from Isabel's when I'm visiting Lopez, because I know my coffee will be amazing every time.

Victoria H.

Yelp
Went in to cool down with an espresso milkshake after a day in the sun. The barista was fairly rude. As she was making our milkshakes I was suprised that there were two WASPS in one displays holding some scones! I let her know, as did other patrons just after me, and she continued to get upset. Then sitting outside drinking my shake I found a HAIR in it! I went back in to see what to do about it, she didn't seem to believe that I found it, more implied I placed it there, and was reluctant to even make me a new one. After all this I just asked for a refund. She only refunded one of the shakes, even though both were made in the same batch. Not wanting to make this interaction even worse and ruin my vacation I left. Now I'm out $10 plus a tip I shouldn't have left. Not returning.

Lizard T.

Yelp
I wish I could magically transport myself to Isabel's on any morning, unfortunately I live in Seattle. Espresso-wise, this place is truly as good as the best places in Seattle.* Add the Lopez-factor, and Isabel's Espresso is a slice of heaven. * I am one of those annoyingly picky espresso connoiseurs. Milky decoctions from Starbucks are for those who don't really like coffee.

David F.

Yelp
Isabel's Espresso on Lopez Island is a quirky little coffee shop/ restaurant/ bakery. The coffee is fairly sourced and completely delicious. Sandwiches, scones, etc. are of surprising quality. The staff are relaxed and funny and friendly. There is homey seating inside, and a peaceful deck space with plenty of shaded seating outside. Our cycling group, the Hot Sprockets (a bike club for kids over 60) endorses Isabel's without reservation!

Alexis S.

Yelp
For there only being two coffee places on the island (that I could find at least), this was the best. I went to both and the coffee and service was the best here. The woman who took my order and made my coffee was so kind and was able to carry on a good conversation while she made my drink. I found the place itself to be very inviting and cute! Loved it!

Anna F.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and good vibes - just tried and the Mexican spice cold brew and am obsessed and the mocha milkshake is sooo good

Zane B.

Yelp
Super yummy mocha! Strong coffee, yummy not overpowering choc, fresh whip :) Fairly priced too.

Kitti D.

Yelp
This review is from my 9 year old son, Francis. "When you walk in you just *feel* the love. It just feels good. People are so kind and I think everyone who works there probably smells like marshmallows. And she put sprinkles on my hot chocolate!" This is a great shop, and everyone visiting Lopez should stop in.

Wen Z.

Yelp
Anyone who has been to Lopez Island knows that I do not need to emphasize the laid back, comfortable, communal vibe that Isabel's projects. For me, I love it because I always feel like a true member of the community, even as a visitor. The coffee is really good, and the barista that we had even better. She pulled a perfect doppio and speaks the coffee language. The conversation we had with her regarding the subtle roast profile was professional, yet informal. Aside from the coffee being great, the day we visited, we had a selection of locally baked muffins. If you get the opportunity to have one - do it! The establishment itself is clean, has a cute mismatch of tables/chairs, and random coffee mugs and plates (I like this style). The refills on drip coffee is at no cost. And, even if the local baked goods are not available, they do have a nice selection of packaged baked goods (bagels/cream cheese, etc.) - there is no full service food here. The establishment is fairly small, so our of courtesy, if you are coming with a large group (more than six), consider getting your goods to go and sitting out on the lawn across the street. There is a lovely porch with a few seats, though it can get crowded if the line gets long as the line will wrap out onto the porch. The only reason I do not give this place five stars is really somewhat arbitrary, but it is a pet-peeve of mine.....if you are going to have anti-Starbuck's campaigns in your establishment, please do not serve Starbuck's products (FYI - the Tazo teas you serve is a division of the Starbuck's corporation).

Jaque H.

Yelp
This is how much I enjoyed this cafe...I had to reset my login info AND update my Yelp app! Friendly. Clean. Adorable. I'm from San Francisco and frequent many coffee shops, I'm ALWAYS looking for a "Spicy Mocha". Yesterday I happened to pop in. Isabel's NAILED it. They've ruined me. Thanks so much. Hopefully I'll be back before heading home.

Justin D.

Yelp
There are a couple of options for coffee on Lopez, but this is the one you want to stop at. The coffee, spicy mocha's, Lopez mist (a London fog variation), and harmony chai we're all great. There are a few tables inside and a patio that looks like it might be a nice spot in the summer. It's clear that the locals stop here, but my wife and I were welcomed and treated well as island visitors. We found the staff to be friendly and conversational and they made excellent drinks. We'll be back.

Jaina D.

Yelp
The big sunny porch overlooking the water is my home away from home. If you want to get to know the quirky characters of this beautiful island, just make Isabel's your hang out, and soon you'll be one, too! The tea selection is extensive, including a locally made organic and YUMMY chai, as well as invigorating matcha lattes--made with your choice of several milky options. Lots of locally made treats, as well. Games and books and videos to borrow, and a bookstore to peruse next door. An endless flow of old-timers, newcomers, visitors and extra terrestrials. You could spend all day here and never have a dull moment.

Jim S.

Yelp
Good coffee, good vibes, and "Hippies use side entrance". Isbel's is an institution. They have a great selection of drinks -- coffee to italian sodas to root beer floats. An ecelctic indoor setting with a nice, dog-friendly, patio. I highly recommend them over Cafe La Boheme -- especially since there is a lot of bike parking.

Kara D.

Yelp
Delicious specialty drinks and a very friendly staff! Every time I am on Lopez I make sure to stop in and grab a drink. If you are in the mood for something sweet I recommend the Mocha Milkshake or a Mocha freeze.

John S.

Yelp
A great experience, just walked in, friendly greeting, great Staff, great coffee and great treats. Really nice ambiance. And did I say no attitude from the Staff? One of the challenges on Lopez is Staffing, we all get it, it's a limited resource. Isabel does a great job of getting good people who understand it, no attitude, no 'entitlement', etc. A definite 'must stop here' for Lopez.

A J.

Yelp
Isabel's is my new favorite. Yeah, I love Robert too. But the coffee, y'all. The coffee. Plus they make it easy to grab a South End sandwich on your way to the ferry kerfuffle. Hot tip: the best smile on Lopez Island might be your barista, so try to make her laugh. Plus you can browse the thrift store while you're there. Win/win.

Lia P.

Yelp
Isabel's is the best place to get coffee on the island. The service is always friendly and the coffee is always consistently great!

Ann A.

Yelp
Great local coffee shop! Bring your own mug. They provides cups but most people bring their own mug.

Angelique L.

Yelp
Great coffee and a funky environment. It has a lovely wrap around patio under a large shade tree with a view of the village and the water. Miniature cookies near the register will tempt you but you'll come back for the coffee!

Julia R.

Yelp
Pretty good coffee, and great service. Seemed like a locals spot, and definitely the kind of place to hang out on a nice day.

Bonnie D.

Yelp
Coffee shops are my "third place." The space I feel most comfortable in outside of my own home. There are many coffee shops in the world that I have loved, but of them all, this is my favorite one. My friends and I hang out here every year we visit. It might be the great atmosphere, the local island feel, the friendly baristas. It could be that the coffee is just so dang delicious every time, no matter what we order. Maybe it's also the welcoming porch that is dog-friendly, or the adorable little mugs. I'm not sure what it is, but this place is pure magic. Thank you for existing, Isabel's. Please never change.

Deirdre B.

Yelp
Great coffee menu, caring staff and a cool place to enjoy your coffee. What more you you ask for?

Heidi M.

Yelp
My husband and I came here about 3 times in one weekend. The staff is so friendly, and they were wonderful in helping my husband decide what to get. I had their chai and spiced hot chocolate, and both were wonderful. There is not a whole lot of space to sit, but we were in kind of a hurry, so that didn't matter. I would definitely come back.

Callie N.

Yelp
Best coffee on Lopez hands down. Funky fresh vibes. They use only organic milk and their whip cream is literally insanely amazing. Great crew and owner. Always a pleasure to visit.

David L.

Yelp
On vacation on Lopez island for the first time this last weekened and decided I would try out this place for some good frozen coffee. I consider myself a conissur of frozen coffee drinks (frappe, Frappuccino, Ice cap, coffee freezy etc.) and have tried them at many different coffee shops across North America. My preference is a strong but only mildly sweet bended coffee drink. I also do not like large ice crystals - it must be blended until smooth. Fake whip ontop is an immediate disqualification from being in contention with my favorite places. Isabels nailed it. Their frozen mocha freeze was perfect: good, strong, rich coffee flavor, not too sweet, well blended and wonderful real whipped cream on top. I was on Lopez for the weekend and went to Isabels twice for the same drink. I also recommended it to my extended family who also bought the same drinks and were equally impressed. Currently this place is my favorite coffee shop for frozen blended coffee. Yes the line is long but what do you expect for a good coffee shop thats popular with locals and tourists alike?

Robert H.

Yelp
This is a gem of a coffee shop on Lopez Island! Their espresso, lattés, and cappuccino s are exemplary, but what is most amazing, and I really mean this, Isabel's has the best tasting decaf lattés I've ever had; and that includes Paris and Rome. Great seating area and speedy WiFi.

Marita P.

Yelp
Visiting Lopez Island (especially when riding bicycles) is always a wonderful experience -- But one of the real highlights, by far, is a stop at Isabel's. Our group actually found ourselves being drawn there twice within the course of our one biking day: First, for the deliciously fat sandwiches filled with only the freshest of ingredients ... And then later again, for their milkshakes. The Espresso Milkshake at Isabel's, by the way, is hands down the BEST milkshake I have ever tasted, period. I'd say the milkshake alone is worth a ferry trip out to the island!

Andrew R.

Yelp
Friendly. Great coffee. I worked 1/2 day there and after the early am rush it was quiet.

Ryan G.

Yelp
This place is horrible! Don't ever go here! (Translation: I want it all for myself!) Anyone who knows me will tell you I love my coffee shops. I've known many, loved quite a few- but none of them tops Isabel's. The building is gorgeous and quaint, the coffee is good, and the setting- oh, the setting... A couple of big, beautiful shade trees, fantastic view of the water- beautiful. And speaking of beautiful, Julia the barista is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen! And it's connected to a bookstore, what more could you ask for? A lot of locals hang out here so you can get in on some good conversation too- if you're not too busy reading, or perusing all the art and cartoons on the wall, admiring the view, or trying not to let Julia catch you staring at her. I've holed up here on cold, rainy winter days and I've sat on the deck in the summer; sometimes my nose was buried in a book, other times I've chatted up the staff or other customers. And it was delightful in every case. I don't consider any trip to the islands complete without a few stops at Isabel's.

Yoko N.

Yelp
Great Americano and super cozy atmosphere! Nice Oasis during the bike trip around the island. Certainly visit here again.
