BEWARE! This company claims to use AI detection, only to scam you out of another $145 fee!
On August 2, 2025, I was required by the court to take an online Level 3 Defensive Driving Course through I.S.A.E. Education Programs at a cost of $145.00, and submit a certificate of completion to the court.
I took a day off work and completed the test with a score of 95%. After completing the essay portion, I copied/pasted that into the company's online text box and submitted.
The next day I received a rejection email claiming that the essay I submitted was "100% AI generated". It was not. They only allow 2 submission attempts before the system locks you out, and you have to pay to retake the entire course. So, I edited my original document, really dumbing it down this time. I copied/pasted my newly edited version into the company's text box and resubmitted.
I again received a rejection notification claiming that it was "100% AI generated". I immediately called I.S.A.E. and spoke with a manager. I explained that I typed my essay in MS Word. I then copied and pasted my text into their form. She stated, "Their system could be thinking that anything copied and pasted into their form is automatically assumed 100% AI generated and that's why it keeps getting rejected". I informed her that there is no information on their website stating such, and that I would have gladly typed everything into their text box had they made me aware of this requirement. She stated that there was nothing she could do, and that I would need to pay for, and retake the entire test again.
So, because this is a requirement of the court, I had to take another day off work and pay another $145 fee. For the essay portion, I literally retyped VERBATIM what I previously copied/pasted into their form that was rejected the day before. The next day I was notified that I had passed the course, and received the necessary certificate of completion.
The fact that I resubmitted the exact text I submitted the day before, and passed this time ONLY because I manually typed it directly into their form box is ludicrous! Two months ago, I left a phone message requesting to speak with someone, and requested that they (I.S.A.E.) refund of the second $145 fee charged for my submission that was correct the very first time. Crickets.
Last month I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Turns out I.S.A.E. isn't accredited by the BBB. No surprise there!!
