First time experience such a LIVE grilling base on customers’ orders and once he cooked finish he will use rolling petal and handle over to his customers, that is the limelight throughout the whole process. Won’t get to see this except in Japan, authentic fresh cooking. Truly admire the chef coz he more than just multitask grilling and preparing, his service beyond expected. Well done.

Google
Not the best food but decent, definitely live for the atmosphere and the vibe. Reservation is available online and they can sit big group like the 9 of us and also smaller groups. If you are lucky, you get to sit in the center of the restaurant around the bbq pit with other diners. There are floor tables which require you to sit on the floor with shoes off and high tables in the back for bigger groups. You order food thru your phone, dont worry they have free wifi available. Tons of food options and its not expensive so order away and enjoy !! Its a little tricky to find the restaurant since its below street level. Once you get to the big pharmacy on the corner lot, look for the stairs that does down. No elevator, mobile assist will have to walk down the stairs. And be ready to smell like oil and smoke after getting out. Ventilation is not great inside.

Bustling place and lively atmosphere. A bit smoky inside, could use better ventilation system. Friendly staff dealing with 9 gaijin as best they can. We had some nice big beers and food was decent. A little crowded, I think they segregate foreigners in a small back room.

Google
They did not clarify the time, but they did kick us out within 40 minutes right after the first dish has ever been served. This is ridiculous, the reception did not mention the dining time when we approached her, then they even did not admit that they did not deliver the eggplant to us, the server flown 🙄 to us, at the end the kitchen delivered the food after 5 minutes we cancelled it😀 The feeling was very bad, it made me feel like I was having no money to pay for my bill or something else. Anyways, they still welcoming guests when we were heading out, means they are not going to close in a short time. Seriously, no next time, and I hope you would not feel this way as well.

Google
Such a unique dining experience bit hard to find go to where Google says it is and look for stairs leading down. Bit of a language barrier at first but we muddled through. You have to use your phone to order dishes, which means you need data services, and reception isn't great down there. All that aside the staff were excellent! The food was excellent! The cost was really affordable. I also really enjoyed sitting right at the grill because my legs would've definitely fallen asleep at one of the outer tables, you sit cross legged on mats on a raised floor.

Google
A unique and one-of-a-kind experience. Happily ordered alot of food and our table ended up with so many plates. The neighbour beside us was giggling at us 😳 Tried a lot of their dishes, mostly average old school yakitori but the one that really slaps was their grilled scallop. Do note that every diner needs to have a drink each. Apart from that it was rather great experience! Very worth the money for the amount of things we ordered, mostly 330yen unless otherwise stated on the menu itself.

Google
The food at Isaribi was decent—nothing mind-blowing, but solid overall. What really stood out, though, was the experience. The atmosphere, the service, and the way the meal was presented made it feel special and memorable. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience rather than just exceptional food, Isaribi is definitely worth a visit.

Google
over rated tourist trap. Service was subpar, especially towards tourist. They don't take reservations, seating is first come first serve. Very tight spacing. Limited you 1 and half hours .

Yelp
A dining experience in Osaka that truly does not get better than this. It's authentic and not catered to foreigners. Sitting within inches of the person next to you, you're seated in a circular table that has all of the different types of veggies, seafood, and meats to select from and the grill is right in front of you. The cost is cheap, the food is amazing, and it's such a fun dinner. ENJOY! PS: Don't go without a reservation or else you'll risk waiting for a very long time.

Yelp
Outstanding smoky and lively ambience with fresh meat and seafood layout in front of you, slowly cooked to perfection. The price is cheap, but the food is good.

Yelp
The experience was well worth the visit. The chef cooks the majority of items right in front of you, and hands it to you on a wooden paddle. The majority of the menu is laid out right in front of you to decide what you want. 4 stars Scallops - my favorite item here Different assortment of skewers (Bacon wrapped asparagus , gizzard, chicken thigh, and some others) 3 stars Complimentary fish head & tail Sashimi Agedashi tofu Wings Grilled rice ball Sea snail - Not really my thing, but excellent presentation Mushrooms 2 stars Chicken fillet skewer - not a fan of the sauce on top -The owner/manager spoke some English and was able to help us order. He was very welcoming and excited to have us visit. -Seats are a little small for a bigger guy like me

Yelp
We waited 1.5 hours for this spot lol it was fun but probably not worth the wait. The menu is really confusing! Even the half-English one. They have these 2 huge tables where they grill the skewers but we had such a large party that we couldn't sit there. The scallops are AMAZING. I also liked their pork and beef skewers. Pass on the cheese & chives. It seemed pretty pricey though The owner is hilarious and was very friendly towards us tourists. He hosted a bingo game for discounts and did dance moves! He has a YouTube and advertised it. One of the servers spilled hot tea on one of my friends!! I'm not sure what tradition is in Japan but we were hoping to get a discount or something lol but we did not.

Yelp
Definitely local, walk down some stairs to find this place -- lots of options and it's pretty cheap!! (7 beers, lots of food only $100 for 4 people) Skewers did not blow me away however BEST TO WORST: // OK: - eringi mushrooms: salted, charred lightly and tasty - shiitake: enjoyed the sauce - tofu salad: run of the mill, silken tofu // MEH: - mackerel: a little dry, lots of bones - tsukune: too soft and not charred enough - scallops: fresh but nothing extraordinary here - jumbo chicken: very plain, typical, didn't get enough of a char - eggplant: super mushy TLDR: ok food, local vibe, wouldn't go out of your way to come

Yelp
Pretty fun robota/Yakitori place. Just a bunch of meat on a stick in an underground fun Osaka-style social vibe. Just tell them what you want and they place it on a gigantic grill where they are cooking everyone's food and then you wait. Pretty simple game here. We had a bunch of grilled things on sticks including: 1. Multiple orders of scallop with a nice sweet soy sauce and butter broth. 4/5 2. Yam. 3.5/5 3. Squid Robata: 4/5 4. Giant Shrimp: 4/5 5. Shiitake Shrooms in Stick: 4.5/5 6. Chicken Yakitori with a sour plumb sauce: 3/5 7. Bacon/asparagus Robata 3.5/5 8. Fish cheek: too messy to eat 2.5/5 9. Salmon Belly 3/5 10. Chicken Heart Yakitori: 4/5 11. Chicken Liver Yakitori: 4/5 All in all, this was 3.5 star food with 5 star professional yet fun and friendly s

Yelp
A MUST GO! めちゃめちゃうまい! A trip to Japan, specifically Osaka is nothing without experiencing robatayaki here at Isaribi. What is robatayaki you ask? It means "fireside-cooking" If your a traveler and not familiar with the area it does take a little bit of searching, the address on the yelp site is correct with the help of google maps, but its a pretty hidden place. You have to take a staircase down from street level to get to the restaurant. Let your nose guide you! Once you hear the loud screaming of laughter or talking and smell that's smoke you basically there. FAST FACTS: -Don't worry too much about not knowing much Japanese (but the basics would be great also) because there are lots of foreigners that come here also and the staff has a few who are familiar with English so nothing to be worried about. -If you want water you have to specifically request for it as it is not given by default. -Not sure if its ever night or some other nights but they give you bingo card and you can play along with it and if you win you get some kind of prize or discount. We didn't but who knows you might have a luck. -Take accept card here -You can put bags and jackets or belongings under your seat as it doubles as a storage. -It does get busy, but if you are asked to wait and if its a long time, trust me and wait! Its worth it! MENU: They do have a physical menu to choose from also and such but just go ahead and choose what you want in the food selections in front of you and they will prepare it for you, the "headmaster" I call it in the center of the table is the one that orchestrates everything for you, so when he calls or looks at you just point what you like and he will get it ready for you, easy! Overall if you're looking for a good time, with friends, or traveling solo, this is the place I would recommend. It's best if you get a few drinks and not be too shy as if all starts with a conversation. They say the Japanese are shy, but once drinks start flowing and you start the initial conversation, the rest is history!!

Yelp
One of the coolest dining experiences I've had. Definitely worth a trip if you are a traveler or a local. Fun atmosphere that is unique. It was hard locating this restaurant since my group couldn't read Japanese but Google Maps brought us close to it. You have to go downstairs. Once you're inside, you are hit with smoke from the grill and loud greetings from the service staff. The food options are laid out in front of you. We got the jumbo shrimp, scallop, conch, chicken thighs, and mushroom. Definitely get the jumbo shrimp and scallop. Those were my favorite. The staff gives you your plate on a large wooden paddle! A few of the staff spoke English but it was easy to point and tell the chef how many you wanted. This is a great environment for friends and a cold drink. You sit in a small chair around a grill. Everyone's happy and there's plenty of food. What else could you ask for?

Yelp
A super fun social robatayaki experience in Osaka! The location was a bit hard to find and we circled the block twice, but thanks to Yelp photos and reviews we realized the restaurant was down a long staircase off the street. You'll want to make sure to call ahead to get a reservation because this spot gets packed. We added ourselves to the wait list which was about a 40-minute wait and grabbed a drink at a bar right next door. Once seated, we had a table away from the bar area, but I'd recommend trying to get seats at the bar because it's so much more fun to interact with the chef and people watch. We ordered a bunch of the most popular items from the menu and shared everything from seafood to veggies to chicken. It was't my favorite meal in Osaka, but it was still a lively dinner experience.

Yelp
I should give 5 stars to be honest but I am also an impossible marker (wish I could give 4.5 stars). First of all the place has a great ambiance. Just sit by the grill and absorb it. The staff is fun and friendly (one if the difference between Osaka and Tokyo) especially the chefs. The food is great and I recommend the scallops and the chicken meat balls. My Japanese colleague even reckoned that the grilled rice ball (gohan) was actually pretty good. Finally, coming from Singapore, it is good to see that food does not have to be overpriced to be good (not like salaries and rent are low in the center of Osaka).

Yelp
Wow wow wow. Stumbled upon this place while walking around in the area. There was 11 of us and they took us in without any problem. The food was wonderful and entire experience was great for our kids too. Will definitely come back again the next time we're in Osaka.

Yelp
Loved this place. It's 5 stars but I'm an impossible marker. Walk down the stairs into a unique, fun, lively restaurant. We were greeted by a chorus of friendly welcome and the unmistakable smell and smoke of seafood and meat on the grill. Serving up a large variety of seafood, meat and vegetable skewers. A moderate selection of beer, liqueurs and non alcoholic drinks. If you're lucky enough sit by the grill, soak up the atmosphere, make new friends and watch the chefs do their thing

Yelp
It was my first time to try this style of dining. Fun with friends! Very reasonable price but it does add up if you keep ordering. You have to try the port belly and charcoal rice! No English menu and limited English communications.

Yelp
Yes, excellent place. Pretty much all the dishes are under $5. Everything is fresh and expertly grilled right in front of you. Scallop, jumbo shrimp, sausages, beef, etc - all were delicious.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, and the food and experience was good, but they definitely overcharged me. Beware: if you only speak English and not japanese, they will rip you off and there's nothing you can do about it. They have an English menu so it's easy to order, the spaces around the grill are very cramped, we were sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers on either side, whether or not the handling of food was sanitary was a whole other question because the grill chef was constantly touching raw meat. The big shrimp were good (although not deveined, and the bigger the shrimp, the bigger the poop line). I also enjoyed the pork belly. Chicken needed more flavor, scallop was ok but tasted like a giant clam, shishito peppers were good but small portion size, corn was also good. I probably would've given this place four stars if they didn't rip us off by charging us roughly 50% more than it should've been - so if you are a tourist, be prepared to overpay.

Yelp
Dude this place is crazy! Definitely a must try for anyone visiting Japan. I came here with an empty stomach and left totally satisfied with everything from the food to the service. A+

Yelp
I. Love. This. Place. This was our last night in Osaka and this restaurant made it truly memorable. As we sat outside on a bench waiting, we smelled the delicious food smoke, and saw the semicircular tables where people sat drinking beer and watching the chefs work their magic. We got to sit at one of those tables (you must, don't get a seat at the back), and the incredibly friendly staff encouraged us to simply shout at the chefs when we wanted to order food - we tried doing this, but as he didn't speak English and we didn't speak Japanese, we had to order from the staff instead which worked just fine! Just picture a huge spread of gorgeous, colorful, fresh food - chicken meatballs, massive prawns, scallops in their shell, beautiful vegetables, beef, pork, more chicken, whole fish, everything! And you order what you fancy, and watch the grillmaster cook everything with an incredible speed and precision. Then when your dish is ready, he puts it on a paddle with a loooooong handle, and the dish is delivered right into your waiting hands. We loved everything. The ambiance was great, very rowdy with people shouting orders to the chefs, lots of beer consumed, etc - and all the food was cooked perfectly, and served hot, juicy, and delicious. They also have food that isn't grilled, delivered from the kitchen - do not miss the karage, because Japanese fried chicken is the absolute bomb. Somehow they did something really magical with leeks/onions - get meat wrapped around an onion of some sort, it will be fantastic. Even things that you think would be ordinary like grilled green peppers were lovely. There are nice light marinades on much of the meat, but it's also great to add the little powdered green pepper, sansho, for a spicy, Szechuan-like kick. Very affordable, delicious, and an absolute blast in a busy and fun area of Osaka near the central station. Don't miss it! Look for the sign that says Robatayaki and head down the stairs!

Yelp
This is only my second time at a robatayaki. We arrived early at 5 p.m. when it opens. Not hard to find in a taxi and once you get there just go downstairs. The food was decent and fun. There were only maybe 10 customers while we were there but I imagine it gets a little bit more roudy once the place is full.

Tim B.

Yelp
First night in Osaka and what a night, the food was fresh of the robatayaki, great selection and great price. Highly recommend

Yelp
This was one of the best meals we had in Japan. Really tasty Yakitori with a great variety of quality meats and seafood. Grilled right in front of you and passed by the chef to you via a long wooden paddle. Tasty and reasonably priced for quality food. Watch the two draft/nama auto beer filler and be mesmerized. May be tricky to find but worth the effort. 5 min walk from Osaka station

Yelp
Grilled seafood, meats, and vegetables made right in front of you, and icy large beers. Scallop was delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Will be back next time I am in town!
