Isarlat, also known as Sargasuli, is one of Jaipur’s most striking landmarks—both for its history and its breathtaking views. Built in 1749 AD by Maharaja Swai Ishwari Singh to commemorate his victory in the war of succession against his brother Swai Madho Singh I, this 140-feet high, seven-storey octagonal tower stands proudly in the heart of Jaipur. Its name, “Isarlat,” reflects its association with Ishwari Singh, and it remains a fine example of Rajput-era architecture.
Climbing to the top is like walking through history. As you ascend the spiral ramps, the city slowly unfolds before you. From the highest storey, Jaipur’s iconic heritage comes alive—you can see the majestic City Palace, the astronomical wonder of Jantar Mantar, the bustling bazaars, and the harmonious pink facades that give the city its charm.
Located near Tripolia Gate in the old city, Isarlat is not just a monument—it’s a 360-degree history lesson in stone and skyline. The entry fee is modest, and the experience is priceless. If you want to capture Jaipur’s spirit in a single frame, this is the place to be.
