Ise Pearl Pier Hotel

I stayed at the Ise Pearl Pier Hotel and overall, it is a very good hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It offers a relaxing stay after a long day of walking around the shrines. ⚠️ Important Location Warning: However, I want to warn fellow travelers about the location. On the map, the hotel looks very close to Ise-shi Station. But be careful: If you arrive by Kintetsu Line: It is very convenient. The hotel is just a short walk from the Kintetsu side exit (North side). If you arrive by JR Line: The hotel is on the opposite side of the main JR exit (Geku approach side). If you exit from the main JR gate, you have to walk around the station or cross a long pedestrian bridge to get to the other side. It ends up being a longer walk than it looks on the map. My Advice: If you are coming by JR with heavy luggage, be prepared for a bit of a walk, or check if there is a closer exit/passageway beforehand. Aside from this small navigation trick, the hotel itself is wonderful and I recommend it! 【My rating criteria】 ★★★★★ I definitely want to visit again. ★★★★ I want to visit again. ★★★ Average ★★ I don't really want to visit again. ★ I never want to visit again.

Hotel is located in walking distance to Iseshi station. While there seems to be limited food options in the vicinity, there is a supermarket directly opposite the hotel.

Very closed to Kintetsu train station and good access to JR station.. Room is clean but need redecorating. Rceptioni staffs are very helpful. Bonus to have onsen spa on site. Super market in front of the hotel and a drug store is 1 min walk. Good access to Ise Shrine.

My wife and I visited Ise for the first time to see the Ise-jingu. The hotel was only 5 minutes walk from Kintetsu Rail Station. The front manager can speak English and quite friendly. The rooms are spacious by japanese standard. There is a good supermarket just across the road, less than 2 minutes walk, so very convenient. ||However, what impressed us most is the food. They have a small italian style cafe providing simple food for lunch, and the lobster soup was tasty. We booked the western restaurant for dinner. The fresh oysters were very juicy, and the lobsters were some of the best we ever tasted, freshly caught from the sea nearby. The lobster soup was made from fresh lobster meat and taste was really impressive. We spent around 7000 Yen per pax, and it is very good value. I would certainly come here again not for the sights but for the food. However, the oysters and lobsters are only available from October to April, so need to come at the right time.

This is one of the older high-rise business hotels & is situated near the Kintetsu railway station, near other similar establishments. As others have commented; if you are using JR (eg with a Japan Railpass) it’s a bit of a hike round. The two stations are alongside but JR customers are not allowed to use the overbridge.||||The rooms were the largest of the hotels we stayed at during our trip– though in general Japanese hotel rooms are quite small. It was well equipped – if a little dated in décor - & the bed was comfortable. There was toiletries & a ‘nightie’ & slippers for use if necessary. Moreover on Floor 9 it was quiet & the trains could not be heard. The place generally appear to be quiet. The TV has what must be the standard hotel package in Japan – only a little in English. It’s 1000 yen if you want to watch films. The rooms were perfectly clean & the baths a little larger than some Japanese hotels – though still not long enough for me to get submerged. There are hot drink making facilities in the rooms – though only Japanese tea. ||||Pricewise: by booking ahead, online, we secured ‘single’ rooms (actually each had a small double bed) at just 6300 yen (£36) per night with an excellent breakfast including some Western items as well as the usual Japanese. You’d be hard-pressed to beat that price most places in the country. There is a public restaurant, but we found better value dinner outside. Iseshima however is not exactly a metropolis & restaurants appear to close early there.||||I was not the only westerner staying at the hotel, but was most impressed to be greeted at the breakfast serving counter with “Good morning Mr F, I hope you slept well?” by the cook/waitress, who I’d never met before. The rest of the staff were friendly & helpful & many spoke reasonable English. We stored our bags (100 yen, refundable) in the lockers at the foyer whilst sightseeing: very useful.

Much of this hotel looks to have been recently redecorated although there’s enough of the late 70s furnishings and fittings to remind that it’s not new. However that may just be a question of taste as everything is in remarkably good condition and there’s few concessions with the amenity. We enjoyed our stay and we’d come back. || ||The good: Our eighth floor corner suite was reasonably spacious, comfortable, quiet, well-appointed and everything worked as expected. The bathroom was a good size, complete and it all functioned like a Japanese watch. The included wifi worked fine. Parking is included in the adjoining covered garage. The staff were ever polite and helpful although English can be sporadic. The location between the two main city rail stations is as central as you can get. Breakfast is a fair quality Japanese buffet with a few western staples on the side.|| ||The not so good: The TV has no English channels although the PBS News channel runs English subtitles. The multiple bathroom door arrangement was a bit clunky and the bathroom lighting, despite being light and bright, was not useful when shaving or making up. ||Breakfast concludes at 9:30AM and checkout at 10:00AM – times that might work for business guests but are quite restrictive for travelers.

We stayed one day here after leaving Nara and going to Nagoya. Location next to the station was great and staff were friendly and helpful. Japanese bath was great and we used it every morning and evening to start and end the day. The location of the hotel allowed us to do everything in Ise nearby.||||It was a business hotel so check out at 10 am was tight even though we got up earlier. We were used to other hotels being 11 or 12. It was nice to have a hotel safe but it was difficult to operate compared to other hotels. It was just the mechanism. One morning, we had the breakfast buffet. They were busy. The food and price were OK. Just we had had better at other hotels in Japan so it was easy to compare. We ate at their Japanese restaurant. We were hoping for Iseebi but it was out of season so we had abalone and Matsuzaka beef. Food was great and service was excellent.||||They had a smoking area outside the restaurants and bath areas. It was too bad that it was not more isolated because the smoke still floated out to the common area. ||||Japanese restaurant and bath were the best part of the stay.

There is not too many decent hotels in Ise city to choose. A few years back I stayed in another hotel in Ise but wanted to try another hotel this time. I picked a suite room in Pearl Pier because the standard room is just too small.||||It is located not far away from train station. It has its own covered parking connected to the hotel and is free for guests. There is a supermarket located across the street. A bakery and a restaurant are on the ground floor.||||My suite is actually twice the size of a standard room by looking at the fire escape map. Once inside the room you are feeling that it was last renovated long time ago. There was not a proper closet for you to hang your jackets but a few hooks on the wall. Fortunately there is still a temperature control knob inside the room. There is also a humidifier, though not very clean, other amenities include kettle, pajamas, safe. The Ise station is just in front of the room but there is no noise problem.||||I had buffet breakfast at the restaurant on the ground floor. It closes a bit early at 9:30am. OK for business travelers but a bit early for me on a holiday. Not particularly abundant food but enough. There is one hot bath in the hotel but for some unknown reasons I was not able to get access to the hot bath for 2 consecutive days. So finally I have to buy some bath salt from the drug store and use it in the bathroom hot tube instead.||||Will probably not stay here again next time.
