We heard that kaiseki is the equivalent of fine dining / exquisite cooking so we were really eager to try it out.
Walked in for a weekday lunch and we were really looking forward to an exciting meal but were left massively disappointed. Most of the dishes were served cold (we guessed that's how they were meant to be served), some of them didn't look appetizing, and we really couldn't adapt to the taste for a majority of the dishes, especially a dish that kinda tasted like smoked fish (very very dry) and another cold dish of 5 different items that tasted really unusual for us. We ate what we could muster and left politely.
Maybe that's how Kaiseki cooking was meant to be - but it was unfortunately not a good experience for us. Our set lunch was 8,000 yen per person.
Notwithstanding, the lady who greeted us was very polite and had a great smile.
Maybe you'll have to try it for yourself and hopefully you'll have a different opinion.
