Magical place to relax and enjoy the ocean. Loved the experience and we spent just the right amount of time out there. No bathrooms so be aware of that. Food was good and well priced. The boat captain and his kids were very helpful and provided information. Bring coins for the bathrooms prior to boat ride.

Great experience from start to finish, run by a cooperative of local people who look after the mangroves. You can bring food and drink or buy freshly prepped ceviche ($300/350 for a large plate) and beer/soft drink. We came at a quiet time of year and they let us stay as long as we wanted. Plenty of time to relax, see the wildlife (including flamingos, an osprey, puffer fish, various species of herons and pelicans). Swings, kayaks, volleyball... Mx $250pp.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour! An easy trip out from Mérida, you won’t be disappointed. Park in the lot nearby and arrange your boat transfer to the island on-site. Very reasonably priced for what you get - a friendly guide who provides history of the area and points out wildlife, a boat ride along the coast and through the mangroves, setup of a table and chairs on the island, and a kayak to paddle around in. Our guide Sergio was outstanding and we would recommend requesting him if you can! Once on the island, take in the white Sandy beaches and blue crystalline waters. Swing on the island’s namesake swings. Drink michelada’s and eat fresh ceviche from the vendors on-site. A highly recommended way to spend half a day. Try and get out there to avoid crowds which can come later in the day!

Awesome place, you'll find flamingoes and little fishes swimming between your feet, if you drop food to the water they will try to bite you haha. It's 250 mxn per person for 2 hours. Small cabins to rest next to the swings, locals sell beers and food(ceviche). We went on November and it's very relaxing cause there aren't a lot of people

Isla Columpios is a pretty place to spend a couple of hours, to have lunch and relax. There are small fish everywhere. People can bring their food and beverages and there are small restaurants too. It is managed by local people that transport you there from the port. After 2 hrs, they bring you back, but you can ask them to take you to Playa Dunas, which is beautiful!! and enjoy the sunset there.

This is a great day trip and unique way to spend the afternoon. We thought it would be more private than it was. When it’s busy you’ll have to share space with other groups. If there is a way to just get a boat to the Isla without the tour I’d suggest that.
