Only 200 people are allowed on the island daily, making it a very private excursion. The views are stunning on both sides. You get views of the Caribbean and the Gulf.

Such a great time! Boat crew was grand. Photographer was superb. Had so much fun. Front desk older guy was an asshole.. let him go! First impressions are everything… other than him… would definitely recommend this excursion. Hands down, great time.

Beutiful beach, worth the boat trip to the island, only limited number of people allowed on the island per day, book trip ahead of time.

Incredible experience. It can only be visited with guided tours, which during the pandemic are less frequent than they used to and with less people, so booking in advance is highly recommended during peak season. I'm glad they further limited the number of people allowed on the island everyday, because compared to when I first visited in 2014 there are MANY more animals. In the water, many more birds, crabs, crocodiles in the lagoon, and we even saw a boa constrictor... absolutely incredible. The boat trip lasts around 1h and stops at isla mujeres first, for approx. 1h,and then isla contoy for around 3 hours. After lunch, there's a guided tour at the lagoon. Sunscreens with chemical filters aren't allowed because they destroy the reef and wildlife!

Took a trip here with my family and it did not disappoint. A very beautiful beach area greets you as you come in by boat. There is a restroom available right at the beginning of a self guided trail. The trail really lets you see the natural, protected view of the island. Be sure and look for the rather large hermit crabs that are all over and the iguanas as well. The self guided trail ends at a pavilion with some displays of local species of animals and fish. If you are on the fence about going, let me assure you that it is well worth it.

Incredible little piece of paradise without any hotels on the island. Can only be visited with a tour and only 200 people max allowed daily. Also no sunscreen allowed to protect the close-by coral reef

Beautiful island! Worth the trip and price. Please be mindful and respectful of the island if you plan to visit - it is a nature reserve and protective national park by the Mexican government.

Literally, a piece of paradise on earth, it's absolutely beautiful. It's a sanctuary for birds and ecological reservation, it's not allowed to live there so the number of visitors per day is restricted, book with time.
