When I went there a few years back visiting Vermont; there were several rude people there, and they definitely didn't take too kindly to American reverts. Maybe it was just me and the way I saw it, but still if I was doing anything wrong then they could have simply given me advice or something, not make accusations and rude faces at me when they thought I didn't know and see. This isn't going to drive me away from Islam, but it's definitely going to make me pray for them to be guided by Allah subhannah wa ta'ala. I think the main issues is there's only one masjid in that low populated state with too many different racial and cultural backgrounds. We should all at least try to understand one another.
