Islamorada Dive Center

I’ve done many dives with Islamorada Dive Center, including my Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications. Most recently, I got my goddaughter certified there for her birthday. They always take great care of us. The captain is friendly, explains everything clearly, and prioritizes safety. Every time I’ve been out, the groups have been small and well-supported, with enough guides to ensure everyone feels safe and looked after. Highly recommend!

My son and I had a great time with Islamorada Dive Center! Their communication leading up to the dive was excellent. Captain Jason and the crew took us to two amazing shallow-water dive spots. Most importantly, the crew was incredibly helpful with all our gear and made sure we felt safe and supported throughout the trip. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dive charter. We can't wait to go back!

Overall a fantastic dive experience. All of the staff (from booking to diving) are friendly and professional. Jessie the captain was great. Kendall the dive guide was very enthusiastic, kept an eye on all of the group, and pointed our a lot of wildlife. Will definately use the Islamorada Dive Center again when in the Keys.

As a South Florida PADI Dive Master for well over a decade I can say that I had a great first experience with Islamorada Dive Center. Our first dive went smoothly—great visibility, a well-prepared crew, and top-notch equipment. Unfortunately, we were unable to complete the second dive, but for a very important reason that truly showcased this team’s professionalism and readiness. As we surfaced from the first dive, a fellow diver unexpectedly lost consciousness. The crew immediately sprang into action. They administered oxygen and first aid without hesitation, contacted the Coast Guard, and expedited our return to shore. The captain expertly handled the 46’ Newton Scuba Classic, docking quickly and safely. We were met at the dock by Islamorada EMTs, who coordinated seamlessly with the crew. The diver thankfully began to regain consciousness as she was carefully removed from the boat, and the rest of us offered support and encouragement. While it was a stressful situation, it was handled with complete professionalism, calm, and care. This incident made it clear that safety is not just a slogan here—it’s a practiced priority. Aside from the emergency response, the shop itself was clean, well-stocked, and welcoming. The rental gear was high quality, and the general manager was friendly, accommodating, and even extended a veteran discount. The captain and dive guides were knowledgeable, professional, and personable throughout the day. Islamorada Dive Center not only offers great diving but also proves they are a crew you can count on when it matters most. I would absolutely dive with them again.

Spent 4 days, doing 8 dives with Islamorada Dive Center and it was amazing. If in the Florida Keys would highly recommend them, crew and staff will take excellent care of you. If ever fortunate enough to get to return for more diving this is the place i will be using.

We have to rave goodness about our wonderful interactions with Islamorada Dive Center!! 1st off, Kiera who runs the dive shop is phenomenal, she deserves ao much credit for all her hard work and dedication to making sure that everything and everyone is taken care of with precision! Kiera is the sweetest and remembered our family which mead to lots of fun on our day out on the water! My son and hubby did their Scuba PADI certification with Andre, he was so awesome, patient and kind and really caring. He took great care of our teen son who was diving for one of his 1st times, I felt very comfortable with him and for his safety! Captain Jason, was a treat, did a great job of rounding up all the kiddos and ensuring that everyone had a safe and excellent time either snorkeling or scuba-ing! Faith, Rebecca and all of the team really care about their patrons out on the boat and water and we highly recommend working and playing with this great team! Three waters is a great place to stay, the scuba pool is on site and ao is the dive boat, great for efficiency! If you are trying to decide between dive shops, come here, they Rock! Absolutely an amazing experience. Whether or not you are learning, scuba, diving, a beginner, taking your family, or an expert, this is the place where you want to go. The prices are reasonable, and the experience is beyond belief. My son came down and got certified, and I went out with him and we saw more fish, eels, sea life than you could ever imagine. Call Kiera, who run the center he would be more than happy to get you scheduled. Equipment is new and state-of-the-art and the boat is very comfortable and not overcrowded. The staff was very helpful and made you feel completely safe. Simply a perfect experience.

Fantastic experience! The crew was great… Carlton was fabulous and Brooke? red fins was great… I got to see all kinds of fun sea creatures… I am very sad my go pro died before getting a photo of the eels we seen…. I will be back…

Kiérà is awesome. After having a hiccup in dive plans, she was able to find me multiple dive shops to call. Dive shop is very clean, cute, and has some cool merch!

Had a great time here, the instructors that I had were great and the crew had really good energy. They were funny, friendly and flexible, I definitely had to be as well, and willing to ensure you have a great diving experience. Very social environment the other divers that were on the trip were great and made it fun. Swam with some nurse sharks, but didn't get to see any wrecks. Next time though!

The crew at Islamorada dive center are incredible! Kira keeps the schedule tight and the guides are super attentive . They took great care of my daughter and me and now Sophies certified and looking forward to next year. Fair prices and would recommend to anyone

I had an AMAZING experience. I chose Islamorada for the diving opportunities, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how organized, friendly, and knowledgeable the staff at the dive center were. Kat, Doug, Devin, Jason, Nate, Siena, Jessie, Sophia, Kiera and Angeline were so awesome! Devin and Angeline were my divemasters and they were so fun and I felt extremely comfortable and supported the whole way. I was amazed at all of the amazing animals and fish we saw! I can't wait to come back. It was definitely the best diving experience I've ever had.

Easy to rate this one - 5 out of 5. Does that mean they are perfect? of course not. But...they are at the top of their industry. Every day we were assigned to a new guide: Devon, then Doug, then Angeline. They were all absolutely amazing. The captain worked hard at learning everyone's names...and succeeded! That is just stupid hard with a new group of divers on every trip - but he did it anyway. I have been diving with MANY dive centers. There is often a slightly condescending attitude at those places that absolutely doesn't exist at Islamorada dive Center. From the moment we walked into the shop it felt as if they had know us a long time and were welcoming us back. It was wonderful. before we finish our 4 days of diving, we were already talking about coming back next year. This place is the friendliest and most helpful dive center I have ever encountered - period.

I'm a repeat diver at this location primarily because of their superior focus on my comfort and the security of my surroundings. This dive shop is top shelf in terms of their drive to ensure I have an awesome experience. Their staff are extremely happy to provide you with technical assistance, physical aid in getting up and off the boat, and their staffing ratios allow you to partner with somebody underwater so that you can really feel guided to see what you came to see. Their equipment is in pristine condition and the boat (and Captain Greg) is extremely well-maintained. The staff put me on the reef with subject matter expert's that allow me to really enjoy my time. They are so happy to show you amazing and large schools of fish, lobsters, nurse sharks, eels and corals. I've been diving for over 20 years, and this has become one of my favorite dive locations because you just can't beat their guest service and focus on my happiness. I'll be back and I recommend you enjoy too!

The dive center was a great experience. They were so helpful and patient. Angeline was terrific with our 10-year old granddaughter. We're already planning our next visit!

We cannot recommend Eric and his team highly enough! My husband and I had an amazing time with Eric and Sophia on a private dive charter. I have challenges clearing my ears and often have to bail on dives when we go with a larger boat full of divers. Sophia was so patient and let me take the time I needed to get comfortable in the water and descend at my pace. We had some of the best dives I've had anywhere and would recommend them for anyone from beginner to advanced tech diver like my husband. My husband went on their regular dive boat and had just as good of a time! Great service from great people.

Great staff, that's what makes or breaks any business. But when you're dicing you need competent, focused, attentive and friendly staff. They really worked with our diverse group for an enjoyable dive. My grandkids, ages 11 & 13 and their mom did a discovery dive. I'm Open Water. They kept us together as a group with a dive master. I recommend renting the Paralenz dive cameras, $25. Easiest point and shoot pictures and videos and they email them to you.

Another great dive trip! This was our 4th dive trip in 2 years with this shop and they always deliver for us. They have always taken good care of us throughout the whole trip. Nate was our instructor and guide this time, he did a great job. Captain Jesse and Jason were amazing, got us out and back safe and sound. Sofi, Devon and Senna and Angelina all kept us where we needed to be and on track. Thank you so much see you again in July.

"Felt like family!" My husband dives with IDC often. However, I haven't dove in almost 2 years. I wanted to take the refresher course to get me back on track. Once we arrived, we were very warmly greeted and I felt like family. They took care of all our gear and set us up quickly. I was very anxious to say the least. However, the refresher course eased all of my anxiety. I felt very prepared for the boat dive. The boat dive was safe and super fun! I highly recommend IDC. They are the ONLY place I will use in that area.

Staff and crew were outstanding! Booked multi day dives and training - I could not have been more impressed with professionals at Islamorada Dive Center.

Three days in a row of afternoon snorkeling trips canceled. Two of the 3 days the weather looked great. It's a big dive boat. They probably didn't have a full boat and that was the reason for all the cancellations. On the third day they didn't cancel until 11:31 am. Checkout was at 11 am. Luckily we already left for our home on the Space Coast in FL. The Keys are super super SUPER expensive! Part of the once and done club.

After a promising sales pitch to dive with this Dive Center, we made the decision to dive. we were all loaded to dive and the boat was inoperabl. Quick fix to move to another boat to make the drive, and it was down too! All gear was to be moved for us, never happened and we had to return for gear. GoPro not returned and after 3 calls to shop still no return calls. showed up in person and we're told " check your bag again" This Company is poorly run when it boast"customer service is our goal" With numerous dive centers, I recommend looking elsewhere. Happy diving with anyone except Islamorada Dive Center.

Let me just say this is a FIRST RATE outfit! The people are friendly want you to have fun and learn and advance your scuba skills!!! Shout out to Luke for the Under Water Hunter course and Kelsey for my afternoon two tank dive. I did the Hunter PADI course in the morning. The owner of the shop has written the PADI book!! So I had to do it. It was not as scary as I thought and I felt safe handling the spear gun. The instructions were straight forward. Unfortunately fishing is not catching. It just happened that In January a lot of fish are out of season the grouper, hog fish and others you would want to eat...we did catch a nice Jack and a a Lion Fish which are tasty!!! We had a nurse shark follow us for a while so that ate into our fishing time. I totally felt safe with a close shark encounter! Nurse sharks are like big dogs but you still want to be careful. The afternoon fun dives while shallow were a blast. We had a great day with 80-100 feet of visibility. Being an advanced open water diver I led another diver around the reef in 15-25 feet of water. Every type of tropical fish and some nice big Grouper. We did see some baby hammer head sharks called Mobia I believe and a FAST MOVING shark that swam past us like lightning! Secondly the equipment was top notch! Nearly brand new Scuba Pro gear!!! All in all a good day of four dives two being a class with rental gear for $330. Pretty fair price with tanks and weights.

I have been with a lot of dive shops and this one, by far is my favorite. The main reason(s) are Kira, Capt. Sean, Will, Ryan and a young lady whose name I cannot recall, but she was an instructor and crew member who took great care of my gear. I think she had shells in her hair. I had called a month in advance and spoke to Kira who was immensely friendly and helpful. When I asked about spearfishing she got me excited about the Underwater Hunter certification that their shop designed. We arrive at the shop and they take our gear and get us set up. Will is the instructor who taught me the underwater course. After watching and listening I felt confident I was ready to give it a go. I missed my first shot but Will backed me up and took the fish. On the second dive I got my first kill, a lionfish. Will had seen it on a rock and released one band and gave me the go ahead. It was a small one but I was hooked. I was grateful that he gave me the shot. The next day we went to a wreck and saw some beautiful Goliath Groupers. I got a yellowtail snapper and Ryan got a bar jack. Second dive was low vis and heavy current so we didn't get much but did pull one bug. The first of six that wasn't pregnant. The Captain and the crew don't cut corners. They are professional and they want nothing more than make sure you have a great time. The missing star is for the manager. I just thought he was a crew member. He behaved on board like a frat boy and I saw some behavior that was just simply unacceptable. I went into the store after the dive to mention this to Kira, whom based on her professionalism, I thought was the manager. I told her what I had seen and she said he is the manager. I was stunned that an employee, much less a manager had behaved in this way. I did some searching and found the owner's contact info and left him a voice mail explaining I would like to discuss an issue I had seen with his manager. Never heard back. The staff and crew make this a great dive shop, but the owner needs to know there is an issue. It is a shame because his team represents this shop leaps and bounds better than he does. He should not be a reflection on them.

We just completed a week of diving here and were extremely pleased with the experience. We've dived all over the world and while the visibility at Islamorada was not what we're accustomed to, the staff and crew were fantastic. The boat was in excellent condition and clean. This was boutique diving where they change your tank between dives and except for my reg being put on upside down a couple of times (not a big deal) there were no big issues & the crew was knowledgeable & fun. Just a little feedback, on 2 days we had deep dives with very short surface intervals afterward that caused my conservatively set computer to declare deco violations on the 2nd dive both days. I hate disobeying my computer but my backup computer (& experience) told me I was fine, but still... it would have been better to have longer interval times. If we return to Islamorada we wouldn't consider going anywhere else. This is a legit operation and the real deal. We thoroughly enjoyed our week diving here.

If you want a crash course on how to drive away customers, go try to get any information from the tall woman in there. You'll be sorry you even asked... BTW, They don't rent any gear out. Their gear is only for their own boat divers. The place had been well recommended by Divers Direct. I guess I just found the wrong staff member.

My son and I did a discovery dive with IDC and had a great experience. We worked with Devin in the pool in the morning. He was a great instructor and helped refresh our skills, having recently done a resort course over spring break.. That afternoon we did two open water dives with Jessie who was a great guide and helped us see some amazing sea life. Whether you're an experienced diver of this is your first time trying scuba, I highly recommend going with IDC.

This dive shop is the best! Hands down, just book it. I spent a couple weeks in the keys with my sole goal being to dive as much as possible so I did a bunch of research on shops and sites, reading reviews and calling around and this shop is everything their reviews say they are: down-to-earth, personable, fun, experienced, and safe. There's not a bad bone in their team and it shows. I just need up diving with a few other shops too for certain sites and times but I gotta tell you, these guys take the cake hands down. I saw more wildlife and had better visibility on all my dives with them than the other shops, and always felt welcome and wanted on their ships. If you want to feel like you are part of the team, book here!

Awesome dive center! I came here because of some excellent past dive experiences with dive master Sonja. Not only was I able to dive with her again, but I was able to meet a whole host of characters. Devin, Jessie, Angeline, Sonja and Captain Greg gave us such a great day on the water. They were a mixture of professionalism and attention to dive detail, tempered with a laid back vibe and lots of fun and laughs. The perfect combo! I can't wait to come back.

Specialty courses lack the PADI high standard. Want to learn to spear-dive.don't go here. They'll try to teach you in an hour and a half. Poor customer service!!

I have almost 600 dives, most in the past 20 years and I've dived on numerous dive charters. So I know what to look for. This is my first time driving with this operation and they did a stellar job. Thanks again to Captain Gregory and the rest of the crew for an excellent diving experience.

Incredible operation here - very impressive! My husband and I dove all day with them today. My husband is a Master Scuba Diver and I am newly minted Advanced Open Water. From the staff at check in to the captain to the crew - all treat you like family. Boat isn't crowded and left on time. Crew handles the setup and changeover of your gear. Great music (by a Gen X's standard). Shady area if you burn as quickly as I do. Coolers on the boat - one for fish/lobsters and a second that you can put food/drink. No mask bucket but they did have a camera bucket for my husband's camera. Cold water available in a cooler as well. Good safety and dive briefings. Also, the reef is SO much healthier in this area versus Key Largo. Looking forward to diving with them again when we come back to the Keys!!

This place is amazing, you receive 5 star treatment both in the shop and on the dive boat. I don't believe I have ever been diving on a boat that treated me an day husband this well. We will definitely be back. Tge boat captain is amazing and funny as heck. I would also like to give a huge shout out to the crew, they are wonderful and will help to make your diving experience amazing.

My son and his dad really enjoyed the dive experience during winter break. Very friendly people who were helpful and made it so much fun. Will definitely come again.

I chose Islamorada Dive Center to do my 1st ocean dive after being PADI Open Water certified because of a recommendation from my North Carolina Dive shop. I could not have been more happy. Because it was my first dive, I requested a private instructor who ended up being Tomos. He was so knowledgeable and patient. He made sure our underwater signals synced up before we dove. He carried his flashlight to make sure I was able to all the beautiful marine life. In addition to Tomos', professionalism, the entire boat crew and captain were so helpful and fun while being safety conscious. I would highly recommend this dive shop if you are in Islamorada.

This is my go-to shop in the Keys. The guides, instructors, and crew are first rate. They are friendly, and genuinely care about your experience.

My husband and I dove with Islamorada dive center and had an amazing experience. We went out to Davy Crocker reef and Davis reef. We saw so much underwater life that we were just amazed. The staff in the dive center was wonderful, Keira especially was outstanding. Our dive guide Sonia was excellent. The staff handled and set up our equipment for us and stored it overnight.The whole experience was excellent from beginning to end.

First rate team!! My first time diving in Florida and was lucky enough to try them out along with another outfit (wont mention their name but a large outfit in Key Largo) after one dive with IDC I cancelled all other dives I had set up with the other outfit and and booked a solid week with IDC and couldn't have been happier! Will , Kiera, Micah, Shawn and more, create an atmosphere you cant help but have fun and enjoy every aspect of your adventure (store, boat, underwater). Customer service is unheard of along with their flexibility and attention to safety. I'll be coming back ASAP.

Wow! Where do I start to tell how awesome my week was with Islamorada Dive Center. So sad that it is over. This place is top notch. The office staff are so friendly and accommodating. They changed things around a couple of times for me which allowed me to get more diving in and earn a few certs throughout my week with them. And the dive staff are absolutely awesome. I had so much fun and learned so much. When I'm in the keys, I'm only diving with Islamorada Dive Center. Special shout-outs to Jessie and Kiera for all the accommodating. Then a huge Thank You to Devon and Kyle for diving with me, teaching me, and just all around being awesome. Also, definitely enjoyed Bailey and Angrline's friendly smiles and conversation. We were a group of 14 beginners and Kiera and her team took the best care of us. We had a great time! Will definitely be back - so worth it!

I completed my open water referral with IDC and the experience couldn't have been any better! I would have loved diving either way but the crew at IDC made it so much more fun through their love of the ocean and diving!! The IDC crew were welcoming, professional, and by the end I felt like I was part of the crew. They greet everyone who has dived before with them by name which shows such a care for their divers. The crew is extremely safety conscious and made you feel safe both above and below the surface. The depth and breadth of their knowledge about diving astounded me and I learned so much not only about diving but about the ocean as well. I can't wait to book my next trip with IDC and am going to send all of my family/friends to them as well!!

Will definitely go back out with IDC again. My sons did a resort course in the morning and we went on a private dive in the afternoon. The captain and dive master were perfect. Good visibility and great attentiveness.

We dive A LOT with so many dive shops and we have to say just one thing about this shop AMAZING! We just dove 2 days with these guys and they are top notch! They know their business love their customers and Safety is super important! We cannot say enough about the crew Will, Micha, Ryan and Pete were all fabulous. Micha was our dive guide and she did an incredible job. She at one point had 8 Divers in her group and she was awesome. We couldn't ask for a better short vaca diving with them and we highly recommend if you are diving Islamorada this shop needs to be your first choice so you can experience this professional and personable shop! Wow!! My son and I cane here for him to do his Open Water dives. He's 14. The entire team is amazing. Boat was in top order, organized, clean, prepped. Staff was knowledgeable and on point. Safety reviews and intro by the Captain was great. The crew handled a divers issue with his personal gear with speed and kindness. They trained another on their safety diving course AND took care of the newbies with humor and patience. Such s great experience.. Kiera Stilson was a rock star!!

These folks are professional, safe, helpful and all around great. There equipment is top notch and their dive shop had very reasonable prices with an amazing selection. The boat we used was spotless, organized, and the captains each day were incredible. As newer divers, the crew were patient, helpful, they taught us the ins and outs of diving and were really fun. I would give them 10 stars if I could! I highly recommend them.

This past week was my first time staying in Islamorada so with all of the dive operations in the Keys, I just picked the closest one on Windley Key. Initially I spoke with Karen on the phone to check availability and she was very accommodating and patient with me, especially with the crazy weather we had. I would soon realize the next day when I showed up at the shop, she was responsible for running the front end with incredible efficiency. What a great first contact with IDC. Next I met Jess who had three basic OW students, me, and another certified diver. She was a great dive leader who not only ensured her assigned students were well taken care of, she made sure to find me topside to make sure I had the pre dive brief. The boat Captain gave probably the most thorough and engaging safety brief I've seen in a long time. He definitely displayed professionalism and care for his crew and passengers. I should add that I observed the highest levels of competency and professionalism from the entire deck crew and in water staff. They even found a very expensive camera someone dropped at the stern while exiting the water. In the past, I've seen a lot of DMs blow that off. In summary I will definitely dive these guys again even if I'm staying in Key West. Great operation, great prices and the shop is in the marina with the boat tied up right next to it. Thank you IDC!

My wife and I are very experienced divers, but have had a three year layoff. Great first dives with IDC, Kira was great setting up the dive schedule, Chad was a great dive master. Perfect balance between keeping it light and fun, with safety. We'll be doing many more dives!

Went snorkeling today with the crew from this marina and they showed me a great time! Unlike other Marina's in the area (cough...cough....Robbie's...cough) these guys were a total class act and very professional. There was not a single person on the boat that took us out to our snorkeling destination that lacked that nice or courteous quality which is paramount in customer service. Not to mention they did their best to answer every ridiculous question I had about my defensive strategy in case a shark came within close proximity. If you look at my other reviews, you will see that I don't do this often, but, I highly recommend you give this Marina a visit if you are in the area and interested in going on a snorkeling excursion. Top Notch!! p.s. karate chops to the sharks nose, followed by a 3 stooges eye poke is the best way to defend yourself from a highly unlikely shark atttack.

Well run place that puts customers first. They canceled our dive due to poor visibility... Called us early the next morning when the wind unexpectedly died down. We got to dive in excellent conditions... Their boat holds maybe ten divers as opposed to the 30 divers you may find herded like cattle off the back of a truck if you go elsewhere. Kelly runs the place and will work with you to set up night dives, small a groups, lessons, etc. They take snorkelers too. Once they advised my son and daughter in law to skip a trip with us SCUBA folks ... My point is that they would rather make certain you have a good time and come back, than to make a quick buck from you now... We have gone out with them numbers of times and always had a great dive.

You guys are the absolute best. My husband Ted and I could not have been more fortunate when choosing where to get our certification. Every member of your staff was warm and encouraging- and Keira, my friend you were born to lead new divers into the fray. Our testing conditions were tough, but I felt safe because you had genuine concern for our safety. Your obvious love of what you do kept us all engaged and motivated. While the Islamorada Dive Center is geared toward scuba divers, they do take along snorkelers to the dive sites. The staff is friendly and provides guidance on the best places to snorkel and trips to take. Since its scuba oriented, you'll really want to wait to make a reservation until the morning of the trips to find out where they are going to go that day. The captain decides that day where the boat will go to provide the best experience for the scuba divers based on weather and surf.

Very nice upscale dive shop in an awesome location. Great crew! Went spearfishing with guide Will and had a total blast. Came home with a cooler full of tasty fish and a memory that will last a lifetime!

We have been diving with IDC for many years. They consistently provide everything you are looking for in a dive shop. The staff are just THE BEST! Everyone of them treat you like you are an old friend. They provide you with as much, or as little help as you need. When guiding, you will find the big stuff...no doubt! Turtles, rays almost every day (diving 4 dives a day) and I swear there were huge eels and nurse sharks on almost every dive! But they also take the time to show you the little stuff...it's very cool to see the yellow headed jewfish. They make it fun and safe! Great shop, great boat, great sites and great people!!! Thank you, IDC! We will be back next year!!!
