Great casual beach grill experience. It's clean, the staff are friendly, and the food is yummy. We had the real buffalo burgers and a split order of fries/onion rings. It was all delicious and fresh tasting. I recommend adding jalapeno peppers and pepper jack cheese to the burger if you like a little spice. The soft serve ice cream for dessert was the perfect end to the meal.

Google
The Buffalo berger was good with onion rings. We were surprised with the quiet atmosphere and the sign stating that no school bus tour students were welcome. However, I suppose they can't afford the shrink after the onslot of sticky fingers. Sad, but todays evidence of the lack of integrity in our nation.......

Google
The food was very fresh and hot, but it's a small grill, so it's about what you would expect. That said the service was good and they were very friendly. The best part was getting our food and being able to sit outside on the picnic tables and stare out at the lake while we ate. It was sort of expensive for what it was, but we considered it very worth it.

Google
What a great unique place to eat with the family. Buffalo Burger, Fries, Corn Dog, Onion Rings and Dino nuggets were all enjoyed by the family. Good views of the lake, islands and mountains. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back. Plenty of options for kids.

Google
The girl taking the orders was very sweet and thorough. I almost made a mistake on the order but she listened to my sons request better than I had and prevented it. This is self serve so I gave myself 5 stars😉 The food was good. My son enjoyed the Buffalo burger and I had grilled cheese with bacon and onion rings. The atmosphere was pleasant but could’ve been dusted a little.

Google
Fantastic experience! The buffalo burger was delicious, it was so fun to eat while looking over the Great Salt Lake, and very cool! An industrial type atmosphere, cute and interesting. Could be a bit cleaner (floor and tables could have used a mop and wipe) I was pleasantly surprised how much food there was, we left feeling full

Last time I was here was over 30 years ago. Still as awesome as ever. New burger place, bison burger was pretty good.

Google
First timer to Island Buffalo Grill. A great location to view the lake and enjoy some good food. Even though they were out in their mobile unit they were able to satisfy this hungry tummy.

Yelp
The only place to eat in the park, so if you don't bring your own then this is our choice. It's a bit of a greasy spoon with a grill and fried foods, but it's tasty. Is it the best burger ever? No. But it's not bad and if you're hungry, it fits the bill. And since they're the only option around, the prices are inflated. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Inside you'll find it's a just a simple structure with picnic tables but you're out of the elements. Outside there is an overhead cover or this location is by the swimming area and you can sit at the beach.

Yelp
After a long hike, we stopped in to try the famous bison burger. The restaurant felt like a stand you see at a stadium, very casual and plain with picnic-like tables. We originally thought we would be getting a real found bison burger but it seemed like it was a store-bought burger patty. The burger was good and I enjoyed the fries and fry sauce. I couldn't tell if it was beef or bison. I think we were expecting an authentic fresh ground bison patty. The service was quick and the restaurant is located near the salt beach-like lake. I enjoyed walking out to the water after.

Yelp
It was an unplanned trip. My niece and I were hungry after visiting the park. The map of antelope island showed Island Buffalo grill open and we decided it's time to eat. The grill had outdoor and indoor seating available. There were many options to select in the menu. No combos if you want fries or a drink with that burger don't forget to order it. As much as I wanted to try the buffalo burger my eye caught the BLT sandwich. It was superb. Definitely hit the spot. My niece was content with her nuggets. Crispy and rightfully cooked. Prices were reasonable. And menu was kid friendly. Customer service needs a lil more cheering but then again I'm not from the area so it could just be a UT vibe. Simone and I recommend.. thumbs up if you're looking for a quick bite before leaving the island.

Evie M.

Yelp
Dino nuggets are too soggy. Cranky cook lady got mad at my sister for being happy and dancing! Buffalo burger was good. The girl that took our order was nice. The fries are bitter but the fry sauce is good. Spiders hanging all over the building. Overall it was mid but the experience to try buffalo was interesting.

Yelp
We took a trip to Antelope Island not knowing what to expect. We went to the visitor center, the Mountain View and stopped to see Bison on the way. Stopped to eat since we weren't quite done with our tour and it was too far to go back to town (and the cost of getting in) so we stopped at the only place to eat at the Island Buffalo Grille. It opened at noon on a Saturday. Limited grilled and fried options. Hubs had the Buffalo Burger and said it was okay. I had the beef hot dog which again wasn't anything fancy. Someone mentioned that the onion rings were the best, I beg to differ. But everyone has their own tastes! Other than that, it sits on the edge of the lake so you are able to sit in or out and enjoy the view.

Jeff C.

Yelp
What a little gem. Priced right for food type and quantities. Clean and everything was done really well. Hours can be short so double check those so you don't miss this place.

Kevin H.

Yelp
Great place for a meal on the island. The food was great and we enjoyed it. It is a little pricey but helped made our trip to the island memorable.

Debi W.

Yelp
We had spent the day exploring Antelope Island. We finished with a long walk to the lakefront. All we wanted afterwards was a drink and some French fries. We were happy to discover this restaurant Nextdoor. The onion rings were so good--cooked to perfection and the fries were as well. Next time we would Salk to the lake from their patio. They offer a ramp through the softest sand of the beach.

DeAnna G.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this little restaurant, the only one on the island. Super clean, menu small and easy to read, plenty of tables inside and outside, and two condiment bars. We ordered the bison burger with bacon and it was delicious! The bun was really good. We shared the onion rings, they were huge, flavorful with a crispy outter and soft onion inside. We dipped it in their fry sauce (delicious). They cook to order and it came out fairly quickly despite having 3 families in front of us. The guy taking our order was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are next door. We sat outside and enjoyed the view, absolutely beautiful!

Amy C.

Yelp
Fun little stop if you're too hungry to wait to go to Syracuse for food. We ordered burgers, fries, & root beer floats and had a picnic on the beach. The burger meat was pretty bad (frozen & overcooked) but there are plenty of topping options that made it taste a lot better. The fries were obviously basic freezer fries, nothing special. The root beer float was refreshing and delicious, especially after a good hike on a warm day. I live in Syracuse and only stopped out of curiosity. I probably won't get food there again but I'd totally stop for a root beer float or an ice cream after a hike.

Fernando V.

Yelp
Perfect spot for some quick simple food, bison burgers are good and the scene is nice

Jim H.

Yelp
Your "sketchy meter" will be pegged as you walk into this dwelling. Communal tables anchored into the concrete floors. Concrete walls. Only a regular roof keeps this unit from being a bunker. It's the only food joint on the island though, so beggars can't be choosers. The Island Buffalo Grill lives up to its name - it IS on an island, and they DO serve buffalo burgers! I love 'em! They are not gamey at all - they taste like regular burgers. The only difference is they are much leaner. Bison meat is lower in calories and has less cholesterol than beef, turkey, pork, chicken, and some fish. Who wouldn't eat more fish if it tasted like beef??!! If you get other items on the menu, you may be disappointed, but if you get the buffalo burger, you'll walk away happy. Ignore the guilt when you drive past the next buffalo. You just ate his bro.

S W.

Yelp
I like how friendly the staff were here. This is a typical touristy place to visit. The prices are great, and the thing to try is the buffalo burger. Of course, this has nothing to do with the city, nor the hot sauce covered wings, but the type of bovine that roams the island. Some call them bison, some buffalo. The food is not source from the island but rather an external ethical source. The food is not Halal nor Kosher but it is a blessing to still have buffalo roaming around still. The food is fresh and served quickly, and you can get a great view of the salt lake while eating. Give it a try.

Kalsey R.

Yelp
The Buffalo burger was amazing, the side of fries were decent, and the snow cones hit the spot on a hot day! Blue raspberry and piña colada are great choices. The Grill staff did their best to have the food out in a timely manor for being understaffed and followed COVID guidelines. Although there was no seating inside or out due to COVID, we popped the tailgate and enjoyed our meal in the parking lot overlooking the lake. It's what you make of it!

Nanette K.

Yelp
Excellent bison burgers. No frills facility, excellent location, eat outside, such a beautiful place.

Kendall B.

Yelp
Unexpectedly the most beautiful burgers we have ever seen. Seriously, these are the types of burgers that make commercials and culinary magazine covers. AND they taste just as good as they look! I have a lot of respect for this place, because they easily could have jacked up the prices since they're the only restaurant on the island, but their menu prices are humble. Looking forward to eating here again next time we're on the island!!

Jürgen S.

Yelp
Oh, it´s Touri-Spot and the only possibility on the island, the food was ok, everything plastic and not really clean, ok for a Pepsi or so.

Becky D.

Yelp
Super friendly, affordable and simple! While the food selection is limited, it's fine! They have the basics like hot dogs, burgers, grilled cheese, you get it. They taste good too but really, the young women working the counter is what made me leave with a smile on my face. Thank you so much!

Andy M.

Yelp
It can't get any better then eating a buffalo burger as you watch buffalo frolic in the background. YES!

Kristina M.

Yelp
After exploring Antelope Island for a few hours, me and my husband were quite hungry. So we decided to check out the Buffalo Island Grill. Not only was it clean but they offered a decent selection of food. Also it should be noted that they take both cash and credit card. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and my husband ordered the buffalo burger. I thought the Philly tasted great. However, the hubs was not impressed with the buffalo burger. Overall, for the only food establishment on the island, I found it to be A-OK! I would eat at this place again.

Jessi T.

Yelp
Buffalo burgers! I love buffalo and I assume this meat was fresh. It was good! What I really liked was the bun. It was from a local bakery and was fresh and soft! We got there right before a lunch rush. It is pretty much the only place to eat (although town isn't too far anyways). The fries were standard but hot and good. Everything seemed clean and the staff was great! They answered all my questions about dietary issues and even looked up if the buns had dairy in them (they didn't). Yeah, it wasn't a 5 star restaurant, but it was what was expected- a burger stand on a beach!

Kevin J.

Yelp
A cute little hideaway near the not-so-near beach. (The water line has receded a ton since back in the day, it seems.) Decent air conditioning- better than the summer heat outside at any rate. A good amount of seating in large cafeteria table/bench style. The eating area could be kept a bit cleaner, but it was the middle of the day during the summer with a decent amount of foot traffic so I can't really fault them too much for that. Didn't get a chance to try the food, but we had a snow cone and some ice cream sandwiches for very, very affordable prices. $1.25 for an ice cream bar/sandwich/etc. in this kind of location? Don't mind if I do! Not fantastic, but for a beach-side eatery, pretty good!

Irina L.

Yelp
We were told wrong hours for the grill, so we went on few hikes with intent to stop for food after that. As we started our drive from the other end of the island, Google notes that the grill will be closing soon. Apparently, we were not making it on time. I went on Facebook and texted restaurant that we will be coming just at the time of closing and asked if we can still get a bite to eat. When we arrived to the restaurant, it was about 3 min past the closing time. Not only it was still open, we were offered to order from the full menu. The Buffalo burger was amazing, fish and chips were delicious, and grilled chicken sandwich was very tasty. Thank you to the owner and the staff for accommodating us!

Bill O.

Yelp
This is the only restaurant on the island or in the state park. The food is okay. It's a burgers and fries type of place, nothing too exciting. I would recommend bringing a lunch and having a picnic instead, but this place isn't too bad either especially if you have been camping for a few days. There are plenty of signs to help get you there.

Cheyanne C.

Yelp
Don't eat here. Seriously. Don't waste your money or time. Pack a lunch or just wait until you leave the park. I regret eating here. Also found a hair in my food. Not great. If you're skeptical about this places there's a super good reason why. Service is AWFUL.

Avery S.

Yelp
I give way too many four star reviews. But this place isn't a 5 for sure, but I would feel bad for giving them just three stars. I dunno, maybe I should. This place doesn't look great. It's in an old shack like building on antelope island. It is the only food place on the island so if you're there and hungry, you don't have another option. The building is cement and about as primitive as it gets. Paper plates and plastic utensils. But you can get a fresh Buffalo burger!! And gosh it was pretty good. I added bacon and cheese and that made it even better. My wife really enjoyed it. They're about $11 each. Decent food, better experience.

Anton E.

Yelp
I have been to these isolated food establishments many times before (on ski resorts, beaches, on isolated islands) and they ALWAYS price gouge on the food. However this food establishment has very reasonable prices. Granted, they are not cheap like McDonald's, but they are not expensive. The prices here are the same as you would find at any normal little mom and pop food establishment. A buffalo burger is $10...a 16 oz bottle of soda will cost you $1! They have a $5 minimum for credit card transactions...bring cash! They also have indoor sitting (a good number of tables)...they have a sign that says not to bring outside food and beverages (a respectful request).

Ben W.

Yelp
My friend and I were starved after riding our motorcycles all day so we were happy there was somewhere to eat in the park. The fact that this place existed at all and that I got to try buffalo for the first time is why I give them three stars. That being said, it's the only food nearby so prices are a little more expensive. Also, I didn't really notice much about the buffalo burger that made it stand out. The staff was friendly and you have the option of sitting inside or out. Apart from the convenience, I'm not sure there would be much reason for me to go back. However, I did not try their root beer floats or anything else of the sort. Perhaps an update one day?

Carter Y.

Yelp
The burger was incredible and well seasoned, and the fries are to die for. The variety of drinks provided was a welcome surprise. They did get my order slightly wrong, but they were busy, so I get it. Highly recommend for any visit to antelope island.

Brian C.

Yelp
Great experience! I almost didn't come here due to some of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I did. I ordered the fish and chips which came out to 8 and change (not too bad). The woman taking my order we very friendly and brought my food out within 5 minutes. The quality of food was pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but I was pleasantly surprised at how crispy the fish was and fries were nicely seasoned. Overall, if you're in the park and need a quick bite to eat, it's definitely worth a stop.

Bryce G.

Yelp
The main draw here is the buffalo/bison burger. It was my first time eating a buffalo burger. It was leaner than ground beef, and had a slightly different flavor. The interior space is rather spartan, and overlooks a beach on Antelope Island. If you have never tried buffalo burger, you should come out and try it, but if you already have, it is not great enough to warrant a trip out.

MC Free W.

Yelp
If you are a bacon cheeseburger lover, have an adventurous spirit, and a few hours to kill, drive north 25 miles on I-15 from Salt Lake City. Take Exit 332 in Syracuse. Go west on Antelope Drive all the way over the causeway to Antelope Island. Find the Buffalo Island Grill. Enter. Order the Buffalo Cheeseburger with everything, French Fries with fry sauce, and a Lemonade from the very friendly staff. Then, enjoy a burger that rivals the best on the mainland; a large patty of juicy buffalo meat, with giant strips of bacon that literally stick two inches out of the soft bun. I recommend spooging a few packets of mustard on top of the cheese covered meat. Savor the plentiful and very crispy fries, dipping alternately in ketchup and fry sauce, just for variety. You will need lots of napkins. This is a truly All-American meal; great tasting and very filling. Then, take a hike if you like, to burn off a few of the calories you just ingested. Antelope Island is actually quite beautiful, and there are some stunning vistas if you are willing to walk a bit. But I think it's worth the trip just for the burger.

Merv A.

Yelp
I can't imagine more awful overpriced food. This place has a monopoly on food on antelope island so it is what it is. I would recommend you eat as little as possible and spend as little as possible -- just get enough to sustain yourself until you can eat real food again. I had the buffalo burger and it was pretty tough and bad. Don't go here.

Brian H.

Yelp
For an $11 burger, I expect better. The bison meat is good, but they skimp on buns, toppings, and condiments. Overall, it's the only place to eat within 25 minutes' drive, but I wouldn't eat there otherwise. You pay an arm and a leg for drinks as well just because of the location and touristy nature of the establishment. The hours are kind of limited too; it's worth looking at their schedule before you plan any visits to Antelope Island.

Jay S.

Yelp
THE FIRST BUFFALO BURGER I EVER ATE! July 2010, I drove cross country and wrote in a journal about this cool place to visit. Antelope Island, about 20 minutes north of Salt Lake City. A four mile causeway off the freeway takes you right into the Great Salt Lake for a western adventure like no other. Located at Bridger Bay Beach sits the only place to get good eats! Home of the Buffalo Burger and the first one I've ever tried. I wanted to get into the taste of this juicy Buffalo so I ordered it without bacon. I did get the cheese because thats a staple of every good burger. After my first bite it was really good. It didn't seem as fatty as our traditional cow but still had a nice flavor to it, I recommend this nice surprise when visiting the Island and wash it down with a tasty lemonade. The industrial looking restaurant from inside has great views out into the Salt Lake. As you drive around the island you might notice the Buffalo roaming around, don't worry, a state park volunteer assured us that we weren't eating these protected pets to the park. When I visit again, I'll be sure to try another Buffalo Burger but with my favorite ingredient, bacon!

Kevin D.

Yelp
We had a break in my work schedule in Salt Lake and headed for Antelope Island. It was a hot day and we did not venture far from the car. Even so, the buffalo were plentiful and we even saw four antelope on the beach. Came time for lunch we headed for the only place in town. We upgraded two buffalo burgers with onion rings and Diet Pepsi. The food was well prepared, the staff was friendly and the view from the outside terrace was beautiful. There was a nice breeze through the shaded patio and all was good.

Kristin C.

Yelp
The women working behind the grill are sweet and make delicious food fast. Best veggie burger I have ever had with amAzing flavors. Small place, don't overlook it and go somewhere else!

Jim T.

Yelp
Island Buffalo Grill was a welcome break from the heat and wind. The restaurant is just an enclosed cement slab with picnic tables, but the chicken sandwich and buffalo burger were good. The fries were decent (not greasy), and you get one free soda refill.

Darrell T.

Yelp
We had just a little trouble finding the Grill, signs could be improved a bit. Our group of 8 seniors were well rewarded after we found it. The burger was very tasty, tasted just like a hamburger. The meat is sweet and not "gamey" or wild, just like beef. It was served with a nice supply of do it yourself condiments. Delightful. But, the best part of the visit was our encounter with the owner, Judy Gardiner. She came to our table after the line slowed down a little and asked if we liked the meal. We engaged her in converstion for about 10 minutes. She is so friendly and just a hoot. She could be a standup comedian on Jay Leno and would be a big hit! She is absolutely delightful. That was worth the trip in itself. I'd recommend the trip to the Island, just to meet her. And the food was also great. Go Judy! You go, girl!!! Darrell Thueson

Yelp
Great Buffalo Burger!! Nice day for outside dining. :) Very simple menu . . . casual atmosphere. We took a nice walk across the beach to the Great Salt Lake after we ate. Saw lots of buffalo. Fun day! :)
