Some of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. I got a build your own turkey bacon with provolone and veggies and my boyfriend ordered the cuban. They were both so good! The Italian roll was toasted perfectly and the ratio of meat/veg/condiments was on point. We will definitely be back

Customer service superb after having our order mistakenly picked up by the wrong customer, they quickly remade our sandwiches that were missing. Food was above average but not outstanding. I would recommend for a quick bite while hanging down by the beach or for studying after school. Prices were relatively reasonable and portion sizes were adequate to the pricing

I feel bad as this is the first review Ive ever posted, but hoping this will help management double check quality control. There is no way the owner, Mike would let this slide. Pretty disappointed with the Durkin i received, which has always been a heavy portion sandwich. Ordered a side of tots and received a bag full of grease dripping through the bottom with some hash browns in it. Just too much money for poor quality

A friend from work picked up the Cuban sandwich today for me. Everyone raves about this place but it was my first time trying it. The bread was perfectly crispy, the sandwich was stuffed full. I asked for extra pickles and was very pleased with the abundance of them. It was delicious, I wish I had taken a photo. This will be my go to spot when I’m working in Wakefield.

I went for the sandwiches and stayed for the Cuban sandwich. 2 slices of bread, quality ham, savory pork, punchy pickles, subtle cheese and a hit of classic mustard. The Cuban sandwich had me smacking my lips chomping at the bit for another little taste. Cuban sandwiches are incredible when done right. This one was done very right. Price was pretty good too.

Good sandwich shop. Roll is soft white American style so avoid that if you are looking for good bread. They have better options and wraps

Stopped here during Rhode Island food fights. The guy behind the counter was super friendly. The menu was varied and everything seemed really fresh. We got a chicken salad wrap which was delicious but the real star was the day’s special. Chicken tenders on top of sweet potato waffle friends with maple drizzle and mini marshmallows. So. Delicious. I. Can’t. Even. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

This is a really solid sandwich shop close to the beaches where you can eat in or take your items to go. The person behind the counter was super nice and was very helpful with us deciding what we should try since everything on the menu sounded delicious. We grabbed a few of their most popular sandwiches and some sides and were happy with what we ordered. We look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

I was working from home today and decided to change venues and head over to the Narragansett Public Library. I hadn't had lunch, so I decided to stop in for a sandwich. I ordered the Chair 1 (Roast Beef, Swiss, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and 1000 Island dressing). I held the tomatoes and swapped Dijon mustard for the 1000 Island. You have a variety of bread choices - both slices and rolls. I opted for the hard Italian roll. The sandwich was solid--plenty of tasty roast beef, tasty veggies, and crisp bacon. I would have liked a bit more mustard, but I will just ask for that next time. (Honestly, so many places just slather sandwiches with condiments - I'd rather have too little than too much!). The storefront was very clean, with a few tables and counter seating along the windows. They had some soft seating in one corner. The staff was very friendly and I didn't have to wait too long for my order. As for the price, I wouldn't call it a bargain. My sandwich was $12.95, and by the time I added a bottle of Diet Coke, the bill was over $17. That is a bit pricey for lunch, but not necessarily a dealbreaker. , I did forget to take a picture. If I go back I will make sure to take pictures and add them to this review!

Amazing Ruben. Very small place, but not an issue for us. Staff is super nice. Cool place.

I've only been to Island Deli twice; however, both visits my sandwiches were filling and delicious. My go-to sandwich is a cuban and Island Deli makes a tasty one. They also sell sides and locally made sodas from Empire. Plenty of seating inside and friendly service.

Good sandwich place on the way to the RI beaches. This place is open early and allows for order ahead which is perfect when you need something quick before heading down to the beach. The sandwiches were thick and packed with deli meat and toppings. The only reason this place isn't 5 stars is because I wish they had some more bread options. The basically just have the standard options. I would prefer more roll options opposed to regular bread, but even still it's a very good option if you're heading to the beach and want a sandwich!

The BEST Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten. The pressed roll had the perfect ratios of everything and the bread was crispy and warm. Fast service & nice staff.

Went back a couple more times but I had always gotten the Hog Island Sandwich (Italian). This time I got the Thai Peanut Willow and omg, it is phenomenal. I didn't expect them to hit on what seemed like a Pad Thai flavored chicken salad in wrap form with great peanut crunch and fresh lettuce texture. Not gonna lie...I was kinda mind blown. A tad spicy. Just perfect!! I may need to try this with bacon like one of the other reviews mentioned. I also have to give big kudos to their customer service. We had somewhat of a complicated situation of ordering in person and relaying a sandwich order from the phone. Then that phone order wanted to cancel their custom sandwich but it was already paid for. The cashier and manager were willing to figure out a way to refund us but we decided to just keep it (and change the sandwich back to the default to our liking! Lol). Not once did they roll their eyes, or sigh, or seem worked up. Well worth keeping that sandwich. Everything was so good!

I love this place! The food is good, consistently and thoughtfully prepared, and the staff are fantastic. I especially love the Wicked Willow Chicken sandwich (grilled in a wrap!) , and they have the best chips, w a wide range of flavors. Highly recommended sandwich shop!

I just discovered Island Deli after reading some great reviews on NextDoor.com. Not wanting to have FOMO, I placed my order online immediately. I ordered the delicious sounding Thai Peanut Chicken Wrap and I added bacon to this delicious sounding wrap. And delicious it was. It was ready when the website said it would be. When I picked it up,the guys in the deli could not have been nicer or friendlier. When I got it home it was so large I got two meals from one wrap! I cannot wait to go back for my next Island Deli sandwich. I plan to work my way through the entire menu! Yum Yum Yum

The Cuban was unironically one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!! Nice cozy little interior with a few tables, staff were friendly, and my sandwich was made pretty quick. Would definitely try again!

I used to just vacation in Narragansett and was always excited to get something from here. Now I live here and I'm so happy to go whenever I want! I've tried many sandwiches and have never been disappointed. My favorite right now is the Thai peanut willow. It's so different and delicious. I also love the buffalo pasta salad, haven't had it better anywhere else! Definitely recommend

Yo!!! The Cuban was killer bro!!! A little small but delicious. The Hot Sauce collection was Hopin!!! Around the price point you would expect and the dudes are cool!!! Gonna tell the bro to put some more meat on next time tho fo sho!!!

Great deli. Staff are the nicest people to deal with. Excellent selection of sandwiches. All the choices are always fresh. I have pretty much tried the whole menu. El Niko is my favorite with prosciutto, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and oil/vinegar combo. Wicked willow also at the top of list. Much better than the pick pocket place that occupied the area before. This place and gansett wraps are the go-tos for lunch in the area.

Stopped in during #bestsandwichri. I went with the recommendation of the guy working the counter and got the Cuban. He made a solid recommendation. They used salami rather than ham and I thought it really worked. The bread was good and the cheese was melted. Overall it was a good sandwich and I would definitely stop back in next time I am in the area.

Had a great sandwich here and great service which added up to a wonderful lunch. We went for the sandwich Challenge and they had three choices including a vegetarian choice. They also had pulled pork with coleslaw and baked beans in a sandwich and it was crazy delicious. I had chicken tenders in a sandwich with ranch dressing that is made in house and I had them put the habanero sauce on the side. I'm really glad that I did because I think the habanero sauce would have overwhelmed the delicious flavor of the ranch dressing. We also tried the orange cake that is made in-house and that was wonderful. It was an excellent lunch in a very small setting with very good service. I would definitely return anytime I was in the area. Plenty of convenient parking and lots of choices on the regular menu.

If you have been to pickpockets in the past couple years on old tower hill road you have probably realized that in recent times they have since moved on and there is one now located In westerly. It is a bittersweet moment when these local favorites move away. However a wonderful new sandwich shop is in town that has come to save the day, the Island Deli is now located on 231 old tower hill road. It is a wonderful place to go for breakfast at 9am when they open, lunch and pretty much anytime you are in the mood for some of the best quality sandwiches around town. Not only are they great with customer service but they are really efficient and in my opinion low cost for the quality they are providing. The portions are large and priced at great value!!! If you haven't had a chance to see what all the hype is is about, please don't be afraid to pop in and bite into a sandwich that just might make your day!!! Below is a picture of the ST Somewhere, it was so good I had to finish half the sandwich before I got a picture for the review. Yeah that's right, it's a sandwich at $8.99 that's so big two people could easily share it!! If that's not crazy value I don't know what is!! Come on down today and I guarantee you'll be glad you did.

Great place to pick up sandwiches on the way to the Narragansett Beach. The location is small but they bang out some pretty great sandwiches. Island Deli uses boar's head meats and cheeses as well as some quality bread for all of their sandwiches. Both of these factors add up to a solid sandwich that will stand the test of time - or at least the time it takes you to put your sandwich in your beach bag, park the car and trek to the beach to find the "perfect spot". They also have a several types of side salads and my personal recommendation - pickles - which the employees are happy to cut up for easier consumption. Highly recommend stopping here on your way to the beach - you might not be hungry now but tanning and having fun in the sun takes a lot of energy!

Found this small deli through a Yelp search and couldn't believe how fresh and delicious the sandwiches were. My granddaughter had a BLT, and I had the veggie wrap. There were plenty of other options available, several of which included what sounded like creative condiments. This is definitely a "from scratch" type of deli, with everything made to order.

Quick & Yummy Did an online order while a passenger in a car about 5-10 minutes, when I got there the sandwiches were ready. The Cuban and the Chicken Peanut Wrap were delicious. Thank you.

Daaaaaaaamn! I miss living in Rhode Island and one of the places I miss most is Island Deli. I used to drive down to the beach in south county for the day and would always get a sandwich for the beach. The most memorable sandwich I had though was a special that was basically a chicken parm meatball sandwich in a bread bowl. This was when I was weight training so I was extra hungry and I ate the whole thing in one sitting. The thought that goes into these sandwiches is amazing and the staff is very friendly. I need to make a stop in here ASAP!

We love stopping into island deli when we're down in the area. I'ts a consistently good sandwich place. The employees are always pleasant, and the food is always good. My personal favorite is the schwabby. The pricing is reasonable considering you won't get a better sandwich anywhere else in the area. It came to $22 ish for 2 awesome sandwiches. The only complaint I have here is that it always takes quite a while to get your food (But well worth the wait!).

Hole in the wall restaurants are hit and miss. This is a hit; fresh ingredients in the Hog Island sandwich with a very tasty pasta salad. Also the guys in there are all happy go lucky and eager to please. I will go back if/when am nearby. GREAT JOB!!!

Oh man, does the Island Deli hit the spot! The sandwiches and fries at this place are absolutely top notch! Island deli is right near Wakefield, making it a great stopping point on the way to or from the beach. The atmosphere is laid back, one might even note, *gasp*, that it's similar to a deli style environment!?!? Who would have thought? All horsing around aside, I don't recall the name of the sandwich I got but it involved some roast beef, muenster cheese, pickled red onion and thousand island. I've never had such a creation before and lo has it swayed my heart. The food comes out hot, and the staff here is friendly, if a bit goofy at times and I can honestly say I left happy as could be. If you're looking for a quick bite that's got more quality than your typical fast/fast-casual establishment this place might be right up your alley! If you're looking for more of a sit down or refined establishment you may want to look a bit further. I'd definitely recommend trying this place!

I would say island deli was your typical deli with average food. When we went they were out of quite a few things which impacted our decision on sandwiches! I ordered The Danslide lally, which was turkey, Muenster cheese which there definitely was not and a cranberry mayo which I did not taste the cranberry. My husband got the Reuben which he said was an average Reuben nothing special! Overall I would only recommend this place in a pinch headed to the beach

5 good ingredients - roll, lettuce, corned beef, mustard and mayo - thrown together haphazardly and without any finesse whatsoever. The corned beef was piled in a lump in the centre of the roll, the mustard and mayo was similarly dolloped on the edges of the roll with fields of lettuce filling in the empty voids. Was very expensive for this sort of thing, and took ages to arrive.

Island deli is now my "go to" in Narragansett for " to go" beach sandwiches. I especially like the Bacon, egg and cheese and Hog island choices. It's also a plus that the folks working there are super friendly.

Great little deli on the way home from Narragansett. Had the Champlin... yummy! We also ordered the Italian and the pastrami. Those were pretty good, too. Ordered online and it was ready when I got there. Friendly staff.

everyone saying this is the best sandwich shop in the area is kind of exaggerating. My bread was not toasted. It was very soggy. The ingredients are fresh, but there was so much turkey on my sandwich I could barely bite it. I had to take some off. i've never taken meat off a sandwich before. it was thicker in the center and thinner around the edges. not carefully crafted to say the least. Great for beach sandwiches but very expensive for what you actually wind up getting. price point didn't match the sandwich. i would buy the ingredients and make the sandwich myself next time because you'd save a lot of money. the store employees were very nice though

Stopped into this place twice recently and really enjoyed it! The food is fresh and place looks clean. It gets busy so be prepared to wait if it's a weekend or lunch hour. Really convenient to the beach so easy to pick something up on your way! Tried the willow tree which was great- tried the Thai peanut willow tree too, that one needed more of the sweet chili sauce for sure! Next time for sure! Will be back

Amazing 10/10 Super quick service for phenomenal sandwiches!! Staff is super friendly, too we loved their Niko and Schwabby sandwiches. Also, try their cold brew!!
