Island Leisure Resort

This was a fantastic stay at Island Leisure Resort during our stay at Magnetic Island. You can tell that the owner has a big heart for Maggy Island and is super friendly. The rooms are spacious. Not the most modern, but that is not necessary. One thing that bothered us was the light at night from outside from neighbors. It was lighting up our whole room and there was no way to make it less bright. It affected our sleep unfortunately. It would be nice if the rooms would be completely dark at night.

What a wonderfully relaxing resort. The rooms very roomy, clean and well maintained. The grounds were neat, and the pool area is a relaxing sanctuary, clean and well maintained. The location is ideal with a bus stop just up the road and supermarket around the corner. The locals are friendly and helpful. The staff were very pleasant and always smiling. Highly recommend for mature people and young families. Has a great games room.

We had a warm welcome when we arrived and thr lady on reception gave us some great info about the island. We stayed in the superior Queen buree, it was decorated nicely and was spacious. The kitchen was well equipped. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the pool was nice. We loved our outdoor seating area where we spent most mornings and evenings relaxing enjoying our meals where the resident curlew greeted every evening, what a lovely bird! It was nice and peaceful. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Maggie island and we absolutely loved our stay here on the island, I would recommend, thank you.

We stayed 3 nights in a Bure room which was clean, spacious & had a virtually new kitchen. Excellent pool, a games room & a handy laundry. Great service from Jenny on reception and we loved the location close to the water, supermarket, bottle shop, cafe and the local bus. Also easily walkable to Nelly Bay town & ferry. One point off as a bit of noise & second-hand smoke from a neighbouring room and negotiating the bathroom with only a half wall (not all the way to the ceiling) can be slightly awkward 😳 😂

We loved the architecture of Buree number 2. Clean,modern,with a dishwasher (always a bonus!). Loved our little patio,where we ate breakfast every morning. Beautifully landscaped. Rachel and Jenny were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Eat at Saltwater next door to Foodworks. Delish!

This place is a gem. I was hoping for something simple, clean, affordable, well located and pleasant and it ticked every box. We were treated to a warm and friendly reception, everything is well maintained and lovely. We loved the pool. We loved the handy location, the peace and quiet, everything really…

Just take notice of all of the very positive reviews, they are all accurate but its greatest asset is the the management and the staff, this sentiment is reflected in so many of the reviews whether they are Google, Booking,com or whatever. Nevertheless, our accommodation is excellent and we love the pool area. We should know, we holiday at ILR every year for very good reason.

An amazing quiet hotel very close to the pier where island tours start in Nelly Bay. Rachel is an absolute gem; she arranged the perfect room for us and even helped with an early check-in, which we really appreciated after our early morning flight. Everything we needed was there, including a full kitchen where we cooked the fish we caught nearby. The rock wallabies at the doorstep were absolutely adorable!
