Island Leisure Resort

An amazing quiet hotel very close to the pier where island tours start in Nelly Bay. Rachel is an absolute gem; she arranged the perfect room for us and even helped with an early check-in, which we really appreciated after our early morning flight. Everything we needed was there, including a full kitchen where we cooked the fish we caught nearby. The rock wallabies at the doorstep were absolutely adorable!

Our bure had everything we needed - even a small dishwasher. The pool was great at the end of long hot days cycling and walking. Good location. My hubby left his wallet in the room, the cleaner handed it in and Rachel, the owner, freighted it back to Townsville on the ferry that day. What a life-saver!

We had such a relaxed and comfortable stay here, friendly and helpful staff, room was perfect and very clean. Good pool and facility's with plenty to do. Would highly recommend this resort, keep up the relaxed island vibes :)

The resort was great, clean and spacious room, clean bathroom and swimming pool! Unfortunately we just stayed for a short stay but will definitely come back! Thank you Jenni & Team!!

We were at Magnetic Island for 5 days with a couple of diving days included. Island Leisure Resort was a great place for our stay, close to Nelly Bay and Jenny and the staff were so friendly and helpful.|Our room had very comfortable QS and Single bed, kitchenette with microwave, full size fridge, hotplates, cooking utensils, kettle and toaster. We were also able to get a coffee plunger. The bathroom was large with a screen-less shower, plenty of towels and toilet paper supplied. A TV was mounted high up on the wall and there was a reverse cycle air-conditioner. A small outdoor area was nice for the afternoon sun. They don't service the rooms during your stay, which we prefer. The WiFi is free and works well.|Getting there from the ferry, we walked with our bags but in hindsight we should have caught the bus or a taxi, an easy walk with no bags. Taxis are $15 to almost anywhere I think and the bus is an excellent way to get around the island. We bought a week's pass and used it every day.|There was a pool and laundry, tennis court, and also a games room with table tennis and a small kiosk for any essentials you need. Foodland is a short walk up the road and there's a pharmacy and bottle shop there as well.|Overall it was a comfortable and quiet place to stay and had everything we needed. We would stay again if we come back to Maggie.

Fantastic older accommodation. The high ceilings and spacious rooms were a delight to stay in. Jennie, the manager was a joy to deal with.

Island Leisure Resort exceeded my expectations in every way. The spacious room provided a comfortable retreat, and the kitchen facilities were ideal for preparing meals. The common areas were impeccably clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The reception staff were not only lovely but also incredibly helpful, ensuring a smooth late check-in process from start to finish. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and highly recommend this resort for a relaxing getaway.
