This place was right next to our friends house in DTLA and we ended up going here twice in our trip. The food is fantastic. The patties are flaky, soft and full of flavorful fillings. I tried the spicy beef, cheesy beef and the chicken curry and all were outstanding. I came back the second time and got the oxtail plate, something I've wanted to try for years but never had, and it did not disappoint. This was my first time trying Jamaican food and even though it was just a glimpse, it really impressed me. The flavors of the oxtail and rice were new and outstanding and the sides were just as impressive. Really enjoyed it and would love to go back to try other dishes.

Google
This place is inside the food court on Spring ST. These are the best beef patties I’ve had in LA. I’ve tried a lot of patties and these are amazing. I got the spicy patties and they were perfect. I also got the jerk chicken, I wasn’t wowed by the jerk chicken but paired with the beef patties my meal was great. I probably should have gotten a cola champagne but I’m taking it easy on sugar. I will be back soon to get more patties!

Google
THIS WAS DISGUSTING. Do not waste your time. Oxtails are dry and flavorless, plaintains were too, and the cabbage had NO seasoning. I paid too much for it and got NOTHING IN RETURN. And why was there a salad??? 😭

Francis Shad

Google
The food here used to be good a few years ago. There was a lady that used to serve the food. But after trying it a few times over the last year or so — the food is less seasoned, tastes horrible, and the person preparing and serving the food (a southeast Asian/indian guy) is extremely rude! how is this a Jamaican restaurant with no Jamaican people cooking and preparing the food? He clearly does not know what he’s doing.

Gordo

Google
I’m a foodie and I have to be honest. I had high hopes for this place but the patties are very flaky and seasoned tasteless. The owner is very sweet! But it can use more seasoning instead of focus on ingredients of texture.

N G

Google
I ordered my usual Jamaican takeout which is curry goat, rice and peas, cabbage and fried plantain. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The goat meat was cooked down to perfection. I will return if I’m ever in the area again!

Mika Caldera

Google
The food was good but as someone who often has more authentic Jamaican food, the patties here tasted...machine made. Especially the coco bread. It's decent quick food but if you're looking for lots of flavor and the correct flavor, this is not the spot.

Mimie J

Google
The bottle drinks are 3.50, the curry chicken plate is 18.00, I think most of the plates are the same, the coco bread is 2.50, the patties are 3.50. Not bad would def recommend

Yelp
ISLAND TO TABLE PATTY HUT is inside Corporation Food Hall. Ordered JERK SALMON PLATE and it was good. Not all the dishes on the menu are available. Not cheap.

Yelp
I dunno about their other food but the patties here go off!!! Perfectly flaky and flavorful crust with delicious bomb ass filling. Chicken curry 10/10 Beef and cheese 10/10 Spicy beef 10/10 I imagine all the flavors of patties are 10/10 bc let me tell you, the ones ive tried are perfectionnnnnn. I will be eating these weekly, i could literally eat them daily. Thank the gods i live down the street. GO HERE. EAT THE PATTIES. Perf on the go snack.

Yelp
Island to Table Patty Hut is tucked inside the Corporation Food Hall, a trendy spot in the heart of DTLA. I visited on a Monday during lunch hour, and while it wasn't too busy, I can imagine seating might be limited on the weekends. The food hall itself is clean with a cool, edgy vibe. I ordered a chicken curry patty and a beef and cheese patty to go, planning to save them for lunch the next day. I warmed them in the microwave instead of the air fryer for a quick snack, and both were still flavorful despite being leftovers. The flaky crust was fantastic, and the patties were packed with flavor. Prices are reasonable, and the service was friendly.

Yelp
We visited Island to Table Patty Hut on a Sunday evening, located inside the Corporation Food Hall. The food hall itself was pretty quiet, with several stalls already closed, but Island to Table caught our eye. We were looking for something quick before a show nearby, and their oxtail plate seemed like a great choice--since oxtail typically tastes even better the longer it's cooked and reheated. Our instincts were right! The oxtail was quite tender and packed with flavor, but the real star of the dish for me was the rice, which soaked up all the rich oxtail gravy. The plate also came with fried sweet plantains and a refreshing cabbage mix, making for a well-rounded meal. The portion size was generous, and the service was impressively quick. Overall, it was a satisfying, flavorful meal that hit the spot! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a hearty, flavorful bite in the area!

Yelp
I was craving a snack and decided to stop by this spot to grab a Jamaican beef patty to satisfy my hunger. Service was quick and friendly and my spicy beef patty that I ordered was warm when I got it. The patty was flaky on the outside and slightly crispy and there was a generous amount of spicy beef filling on the inside. The flavor was delicious and it was decently spicy! I'm gonna be back soon to try the rest of the menu when I'm in DTLA and they are located in the Corporation Food Hall on spring street!

Yelp
I'm going to preface this review with the fact that I don't know a lot about Jamaican food. All I do know is that my friends and I stumbled upon this food hall and this was the most enticing place to me. I got the oxtail plate and it was very delicious to me. The meat was so tender you could pull it apart with the plastic fork. I wish the plantain had a little more flavor but when eaten with the oxtail it was good. For me, the patty was just ok. Overall, if I'm in the area again, I'd be open to returning and trying other things here.

Yelp
I came to try the Jamaican beef patty and it was cery delicious, very nice and flaky perfect crust and the filling is very flavorful, the service is great as well they are nice and pretty quick, ambiance is like a cool regular spot thats clean and chill

Yelp
While living in New York I totally fell in love with spicy Jamaican patties sandwiched between fluffy warm coconut bread. Utterly disappointed after having one from ITTOH store. I've had their fresh patties from their food truck but the one from the store was not fresh. The crust was hard and so was the coco bread. Please cook them to order we do not mind waiting for the good stuff.
google avatar

Demarcus J.

Yelp
So I preferred from here before and the patty's were extremely dry. So was the pastry. I decided to give them another try and the cancelled my order. After waiting an hour on it already. I will NEVER order from them again. The Jerk Spot is much better
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
How did I not know this place existed?!? They not only have fresh beef patties--something hard to find in itself--but they have all kinds of flavors! I got the beef and cheese and chicken curry. So. Dang. Good. The crust was PERFECT and flaky. The chicken curry had a kick to it, and who doesn't love beef and cheese. 10/10 for both. Be ready to shell out for parking or drive around the block a few times to find a spot. It's DTLA after all. The best part is this place is inside a food hall. So, get some boba, grab some gyoza or tacos, and eat your way around the different stalls! I'm definitely coming back.

Yelp
I came here on a whim as I went to Tea Maru for the Yelp elite event. I had been wanting to try authentic patties for some time now. I ordered a spinach & mild meat patty. I wanted to try the meaty cheese but they were out. These were very flavorful, flakey, & generously full of filling. I'd come back here if I were in the area.

Yelp
Patties are excellent. Oxtail and Curry goat are not. Recently the meals are Fatty ox, Curry goat is 90 percent potato, rice and peas full of seeds, serving small portions that don't match the cost. This was a favorite since it opened, it's disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Please believe the people when they say there's barely any meat in plates. I ordered jerk chicken and they gave me 1 chicken leg cut in half and then half of a thigh I REPEAT HALF OF A THIGH, the bone side at that for $25. I can buy 3 packs of chicken thighs for that price!
google avatar

Trevor J.

Yelp
Service and ambiance was great. The food was very sub-standard. Ordered the jerk chicken plate, as the safest bet; since they don't offer combos. Let's start with the best things: steamed cabbage and fresh vegetables. Rice & peas was overcooked and soggy. Placka placka as we'd call it in Jamaica. Not sure if it's due to the reheating before sale or not. But it was extreme. Jerk chicken tasted a bit bitter and loaded with (black) pepper. Other seasonings were over shadow by it. It was rubbery and actually tough in some places. Probably due to being stale. Plantains were neither ripe or green and tasted boiled instead of fried (as stated on the menu). It was a major let down, since I traveled distance to try this spot. However, I love supporting my fellow Jamaicans, so I will give them a second chance, next time I'm in the area. I will show up earlier, close to when they just open. Although the food quality should be consistently fresh regardless of time of day. As Yardie wi have a top-tier culinary reputation to uphold.

Yelp
Okay, I am no strong judge of Jamaican food, but I know flavor and value and this place is representative of both Patty's: curry chicken is great Jerk Chicken plate was excellent Peas and rice - dry.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent good, good service and cute food hall setting to sit down and eat. Parking is always hard to find, but it's what's expected from DTLA.

Yelp
In New York City, lots of corner pizza places also serve spicy Jamaican meat patties. I'm sure they're just bought en masse frozen and heated up in the pizza ovens. But, I liked them quite a lot in high school. Anyway, recently I wanted to find a place to buy some freshly made ones. Had this place bookmarked forever, and finally got to try their spicy beef patties and jerk chicken patties. And, boy, was I disappointed. I could swear I've had jerk chicken before, but maybe I haven't and the flavors just aren't my thing. That or the flavors here aren't that good. Either way, I wouldn't eat one again. Then there were the spicy beef patties. Not only did they lack in any real flavor, but spicy they were not. I think they accidentally gave me mild patties. Definitely not spicy at all. Plus, everything inside the patties is mushy like baby food. The ones I used to have in NYC were more like ground beef and sauce. The crusts are nice but the fillings leave a lot to be desired. Sorry, but the search continues.

Yelp
A while back, someone ordered delivery and a couple of items from this restaurant showed up at our door. Nobody claimed it so before I tossed it, I took a bite of one of the dishes to see if flavor was on point. Nothing special so we never bothered to order from them. Being fortunate to have tried really good Caribbean foods from Toronto, nothing I've had in LA compares. I still get curious when I rarely discover new spots but have low expectations. We originally came here for Soom Soom, one of my go-to's before the pandemic and I'm devastated they closed down for this spot. The food was fresh, but the flavoring was lacking. Items ordered : oxtail plate with a mild beef patty. Gotta say the Jamaican patty was bomb! The entree was 6/10 only because the food was decent quality, didn't taste stale or anything. I would not come back for the entrees but patties, maybe even though they were pretty expensive. I remember getting patties anywhere back up east for $1.50-$2.00. They don't have prices on their menus unlike all of the other places. One fast casual meal almost $30. The two young guys working on Saturday were not friendly at all. Might come back for a patty if we are really craving them but that's it. Wish Soom Soom never left, almost no reason to go back to Corporation Food Hall again.

Yelp
We were super excited to try a Caribbean restaurant in LA however we were let down. I ordered the oxtail and it came with 6 small pieces of oxtail and it was super tough. However my husband enjoyed his jerk chicken but the rice was not too good.
google avatar

Baylei Y.

Yelp
Food served cold. Not authentic Jamaican food. I like their Jamaican patties but the oxtails are nasty and the rice & peas. Plantains are okay . But I would not recommend
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
Limited experience, just a patty. But it was done right. We were grabbing food in one of the other restaurants in the hall and I was a bit hangry. The patty was a little light on the meat, but right amount of spice. My girl ate it like a 4 year old with French fries and chicken tenders. Mission accomplished.
google avatar

Chris F.

Yelp
I orderd twice , skimped on food ... I order oxtail plates and I'm literally given 5 salty oxtails .. for small plates like this it's 7 oxtail standard . You charge all this for rice and peas ... I paid 80 via doordash for 2 plates ... all that money for rice and cabbage .... Then I call to ask for a fix nobody answered.. Bad bizz ... lookout for FLAVAHouse LA next couple months
google avatar

Polo S.

Yelp
Oh my so so good super fast service and the patty are super delicious and you can call and order to pick up. The staff amazing and if you want you can din in as there's plenty of seats
google avatar

Yelp
The cashier said they don't make their own Jamaican patties.. then what's the point??I should open a restaurant and order food from other places and heat it up. the beef patty was dry.. Unfortunately, I will not return.

Shaun R.

Yelp
Most authentic Jamaican food from the east coast and I'm front the Bronx so you know we know that it's good food

Yelp
WOW. Amazed! Im not gonna lie, Im kinda embarrassed to leave this review. Its now my 3rd day in a row ordering these patties. Lol. I went on to postmates to order some Jamaican food from the usual place that I ordered from but I guess now that the lockdown is done they have removed themselves from all delivery apps and are no longer taking orders that way. They are back to only pick ups and dine in. I was super bummed because their food is so good and I was kind of hopeless that I would never find such a place like them......Boy was I wrong! I stumbled upon this gem with very little hopes. I decided to put my order in anyway. On the post mate driver delivered my food, I was already amazed with how the bag felt. It was so hot still! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to receive hot food from a deliver service, almost never happens. I ordered 5 beef & cheese patties and 5 curry patties, a ginger pineapple soda, cream soda, hot pepper sauce and a loaf of Jamaican bread. THE PATTIES. Woooooooow. Yeah thats all I can say. I have never had patties so amazingly good and this speaks volumes as I just got back from Jamacia 2 weeks ago. I never thought I would find patties this good here in the states. I am unbelievably impressed, my boyfriend as well. He's an extremely hard food critic and kept saying "Man, wish we had some more of those patties." Lol. Needless to say I will never go to another Jamaican restaurant/truck. They have a lifer.
google avatar

Liz V.

Yelp
Yay! I'm so excited about the patties! They have 7 different parties o choose from. 7! I've tried a couple of them and they are DELICIOUS! I'd say, for a non-spicy eater, the mild beef has a bit of spice to it, but don't let that deter you. You'll love it. This will definitely be my go-to place for patties. If I had more space in my stomach, I'd try the other foods but alas I don't. So it'll have to be another time to try the other offerings
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
When my friends found this spot after we left a day party I was crazy excited. West Indian food truck?...yes please. That excitement ended quickly. $35 for oxtails?...I love oxtails, so went for it. And I don't mind paying for a item I love. Wish I would have grabbed a pizza. It was later so didn't expect to order and eat in 15 mins...but 45 mins with only 2 other people waiting??? What? That plus the price made me say, "these better be good!". I get my food and open container and just shook my head. I don't know who the cook was, but what I saw was embarrassing and should not be given to customers. No flavor with rice, no seasoning on oxtails, I got 4 of the smallest oxtails, with a gravy flavor Ive never tasted before. I was so disappointed and those were the worst oxtails I've ever had. And I'm West Indian and have been eating them all my life. I felt robbed! I don't know where that cook is from, but recipe must be from watching YouTube. Do better or take it off the menu.
google avatar

Lauryn M.

Yelp
The oxtails were not good. Not to mention it was barely any on the plate. It looked as if they took whole oxtail pieces and cut them in 3rds. The cabbage was under seasoned and the rice and peas were extremely over cooked and dry. However, the jerk chicken was really good.

Charaine L.

Yelp
This place is WAY too expensive for the awful food they serve here. We went last night and there was no price on the menu and ordered ackee and sailfish. When the bill came it was $30.00 and it wasn't even that much food they gave. On top of that, it didn't even taste like ackee and salt fish. I lived in jamaica for a few years so please don't waste your time here.
google avatar

Candace Q.

Yelp
So so so amazing. Catered a small dinner I had with the most delicious Patties! They even delivered for me with no extra charge. Will definitely order again and suggest to all my friends! Tried every single patty they had and loved them all! My favorite was the Jerk Chicken patty and the spinach!
google avatar

Toni W.

Yelp
I'm desperate to know if the original owners are still a part of this bland food circus. Let's start with the fact that the truck is no longer on 8th and Grand and anytime we order, it tastes like the neighbor made the food. We ordered the brown stew fish (snapper) and on another occasion, we ordered curried chicken. If you're familiar with either dish, you know, just looking at them, that they were subpar. The chicken definitely was t in the pot for long because it didn't fall off the bone and the fish was basically fish and onions and peppers, with rice and peas and a side of cabbage and plantains. The taste was very ok, but seriously, what happened to this place? Who's in the kitchen? Where are the owners? Seriously. The future of me ordering from this place again is a no for me.
google avatar

Elvis J.

Yelp
First of All I can't believe that I haven't wrote a review on this Great Food Truck. I all ways come and get the Beef Patty and Coco Bread, but on Fridays they cook plates. I got the Jerk Chicken Plate. The Jerk Chicken was Smokin Good, Jerk seasoning was Awesome. Also the customer service is always very nice. Thank you Island 2 Table Patty Hut!!

Yelp
Tasty food! Not exactly inexpensive, but once in a while, gotta get it! Best to order in advance, if you have a large order. Enjoy!!
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
As a NY'er who used to have more Jamaican food available to me, I've been looking desperately for a good beef patty place. This one is certainly not bad and hits the spot although I wish they had more meat filling and more condiments on top. Scratches the itch though.
google avatar

Yelp
I really don't know why this place doesn't have more reviews! Today, the taste was Jamaican Beef Patties, and based on the reviews of different Jamaican spots (most weren't so good), my husband and I ultimately decided on this place. We called in to place an order and a woman, the owner (I assume) was very pleasant. We ordered the Jerk Chicken Patty, Spicy Beef Patty, and the Chicken Curry Patty. When she asked if there was anything else we wanted, we asked if there was anything else she would recommend. She suggested the Beefy Cheese Patty, and so of course we added it to our order. She asked what time we would stop by to pick up our order, we told her 15 minutes (we literally live down the street). When my husband arrived, he didn't have to wait in line, and the order was ready! So if you can order over the phone, it'll save you some time. We are so delighted to have found this spot! Beef patties were A M A Z I N G ! My personal favorite was the Jerk Chicken Patty, however, I still would come back to order the same thing lol! I started to take pictures of the patties, but after the first two, I totally forgot to take pictures, they were so good :) Our next go around, we look forward to trying each of their Veggie patties! Great quality Jamaican Beef Patties! Soooo recommend this place! Give them a try, and be sure to review! Thank you, Island To Table Patty Hut, be back soon!!!!

Brandie G.

Yelp
The oxtails are not good. Too salty and very one-dimensional with not enough spices - try another place if that's what you're looking for: Jerk Spot, abeautifullife, anywhere but here tbh However, the spicy beef patty and jerk chicken patty were both really good. Would be higher if that's all I ordered but at $26 for oxtails, that dish is obviously weighted higher..
google avatar

Quron J.

Yelp
Best patties in the city, they're thick & flakey, like I know you like em! If you live in the valley make that drive, it's worth it. I had the Spicy Beef and they had all the flavor. Dont sleep on the Jamaican sodas either, that Ginger Pineapple hittin

Amber K.

Yelp
I tried to support this new business and it's disappointing to receive this response about their unscrupulous bait-and-switch tactics. "Even though we showed you the container (your $10 side) was going to be placed in we never told you it would be filled" I just left the business after getting home and opening my bag. I immediately called the restaurant to express my displeasure and anger over their tactics. Why would I ask to see the container it was to be placed in if you weren't going to fill that container? And then rather than apologize or offer a refund you choose to acknowledge that you are aware that the container was less than half full (see pic and you'll understand) Just messy. You've just opened and you are already acting up
google avatar

Christopher H.

Yelp
Spicy beef patties are and staff are super friendly. Nice to have decent Jamaican food close to home.
google avatar

Mr King B F.

Yelp
Do NOT come here!!! Waited 10 mins just for the cashier to asked me what I wanted. Waited 35 mins for a patty that was already made. Cashier didn't care. Hope this place goes out of business
google avatar

Xyanna T.

Yelp
As me and the fam were at the food hall one of the workers caught our attention and offered us a veggie patty to try. It was bomb. The pastry/crust was soft, flaky and steaming hot; it was freshly made. The inside was delicious as well, I loved the bit of spice inside. Definitely coming back to support this business and will try other vegan items on their menu.

Ziyad P.

Yelp
- Good array of Patties to choose from. - Nice food hall location. - Got more than just Patties.

Yelp
Very very disappointed in them, I loved going here but after today I will not ever come back here. Food was horrible, customer service horrible.

Jess H.

Yelp
Typically I don't write reviews but this one seemed warranted. Patties are just okay (nothing to write home about) but this is more about the service. I placed a pick up order on their website for 3 patties (bbq jackfruit, chickpea, and spinach). Order time was 12:30 and I walk in at 12:30. When I arrive the employee says they do not have an order for me. I show them my text and email confirmation and again he tells me there is no order. I then proceed to pull up my bank account to show that the order has been charged and at that point he is unsure what to do. He then calls his supervisor and explains the situation. The supervisor tells him to ask for my id and credit card to confirm. I provide both and after about 5 mins of him being on the phone with the supervisor he tells me that they do not have 2 out of the three patties I ordered and that I could either come back in 30 minutes (which I was not going to do) or I can replace with one of the other veggie options. I decide on taking the replacements and then the employee says he first has to TAKE A PICTURE of my ID and Credit Card! This ordeal prob took about 15-20 mins total for 3 patties. The employee did ask me if I lived nearby and suggested next time to just place my order in person. I pretty sure there won't be a next time and I don't think I truly received an apology for the inconvenience either. Moral of the story, if you decide to try this place don't even fool around with the online platform and maybe expect some inconveniences as well.

Yelp
Employees are rude. Wait for ever on food. Not all that fresh. They use a microwave to head up there food. Also employees are also on their phones

Yelp
Service is so terrible they mightiest well shut down or go out of business... and they don't give you your money's worth... over all horrible customer service and attitude like WTF
