Island Vibe Jeffrey's Bay

I stayed here for 2 weeks back in October. It was really nice. The employees are really friendly, they take good care of you, they make sure there is always something to do. I wanted to do a day trip during my stay and they fixed everything for me. It was a lot of fun and made many friends during my stay. Highly recommend to stay here when you're going to South Africa!

We had the greatest two days at island vibe. We especially enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and also the activities organized by the hostel. Big thanks to our surf instructor Liam and also special thanks to charming Charmaine who made us felt very welcoming. All the best Patricia and Jacob(s)

This is the kind of place you want to extend your stay. Landed up here for 2 weeks and had the most amazing time. Stunning location right on the beach with the most amazing, welcoming, and friendly staff, awesome bar and always a vibe. Excellent place to surf for any level and often fun activities going on like waterfall trips, sandboarding, braai, etc. Great, clean accommodation, good food at the bar and a lovely kitchen that feels like you're cooking right on the beach

Very relaxing and quiet. Stunning view. Bedroom plugs didn't work at all. Overall for the price its a charming little get away

Lovely hostel, great facilities and great location. Some of the staff however, namely Tristan, were a bit over familiar to say the least. By the end of the second night of our stay she had tried to wrestle me into her car while she was drunk and high, nearly ran me and my friend over, and topped it all off by biting my arm. Great place, avoid some of the staff.

Great Stay here! Had fun playing the drums around the bonfire! If I could change anything, just needs an AC in the room for the heat. I had a fan, it blew so hard my curtains were flapping like flags in the wind.

Came for a night and stayed for a week. The family who own and run are great and all the staff became friends who always remember my name. Plenty of activities and live music. Surf lessons with talented surfers available too. A few hire boards but mostly in poor condition, not really the place for any serious surfer as the main break that makes jbay famous is too far to walk, however the wave out front can get really good and often work when jbay has nothing on offer. If you are surfing here sit just on the hostel side of the cone shaped thing on the beach, that's your landmark, you will see and ride many right handers here. I also reccomend if possible to get a private room down in the beachouse, these are really nice and worth the extra coin to not share in the large dorms, which can and will get busy. Overall brilliant experience here.

Nice hostel, good location, beautiful views! Some of the staff are slightly inappropriate and don’t take no for an answer. The ex staff members that hang out at the hostel every day prey on the guests, so watch out for that. Overall a nice experience but just be aware of the people who you meet!
