Island Inn on the Drive is truly a hidden gem and one of the most underrated resorts I've ever experienced! From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with stunning tropical floral views that immediately set the tone for a relaxing and unforgettable stay. The landscaping is lush and vibrant, making it feel like a true island getaway right in the heart of Wilton! The pools are absolutely fantastic — beautifully maintained, sparkling clean, and surrounded by plenty of comfortable seating areas to lounge and soak up the sun. Whether you're looking for a peaceful swim or just a spot to unwind with a book, the atmosphere around the pools is pure paradise. It’s clear that the property has been thoughtfully upgraded and updated. Everything from the rooms to the common areas feels fresh, modern, and extremely well cared for, offering the perfect blend of comfort and style. It's rare to find a place that combines charm and contemporary touches so seamlessly. The location is unbeatable — you're just steps away from incredible restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and all the best that the area has to offer, yet the resort itself feels secluded and serene. It’s the best of both worlds. Perhaps what truly sets Island Inn on the Drive apart, though, is the incredible staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. They genuinely care about their guests, and it shows in every interaction. If you're looking for a gorgeous, relaxing, and convenient escape, don’t overlook Island Inn on the Drive. It absolutely deserves far more recognition — can’t wait to return!

5 or so days before we were set to check in, we were sent a text that an event would be taking place on one of the nights we were booked. This event took place on the entire property, including our “private” backyard. Given that it was so last minute we felt stuck with few options and little time to find somewhere else to stay. We were told we’d automatically receive tickets to the event. The entire backyard of our “private” house was taken over by the bar and event attendees. Because of that we assumed drinks and food would be complimentary to those staying at the hotel. Crazy how we so graciously were going to be given tickets to an event taking place in an area we were already paying for anyway… The “private” backyard by the way was extremely falsely advertised. There wasn’t much for privacy and had only a rope to separate our area from the community areas. Management was informed. I was told they’d get back to me in a few days. A few days later I reached out again. I was told they’d reach out later that day. The next day I reached out again and was told that they (Alex) were in the middle of purchasing a home which is why they couldn’t prioritize this issue… If you are looking for professionalism, quality communication, and accurate property details, I urge you to look elsewhere for a place to stay. I tried to be patient and understanding but was continually pushed aside and eventually ignored by Alex the Property manager. Completely embarrassing service. Do better.

Was hesitant to book due to past reviews not being so good. From my experience this trip, great improvements have been made and they were even working on some while I was there. Easy check in and communication was great. The outdoor area is very peaceful and relaxing. Plentyful places within walking distance to eat, shop and drink! Will for sure be back.

The host greeted me at 1am, after I frantically left a hotel that was full of roaches and screaming neighbors. I can't believe how kind he was to me in a moment of sheer panic/distress. I felt so safe and welcome and everything was absolutely spotless and lovely. i had to leave first thing in the morning, but walked around the grounds beforehand and was STUNNED by the gorgeous pools, plants, layout... I wish I could have stayed for longer! Thank you so much for saving me the other night <33

This is by far my favorite and only place to stay at in Wilton Manors. And what makes this place so unique is the outstanding hospitality by Michael, the Property Manager!

It's located at ground Zero in Wilton Manor. Unassuming from the outside, but hidden within it's a really nice collection of cottages and plantings and pools.

Our flight from Fort lauderdale to home had been canceled due to the weather, we had to stay one night at airport area. The spirit airline recommended the site which is Roomstorm, so we searched on the site and found this hotel. The site said it's only 2.4 miles from airport, but it's not true. It took 30 min. by uber and cost $40. We should not use the site, Spirit airline said it's discounted rate, but we checked other site the price was same. After we reserved the room, the confirmation email said " $30 resort fee" would be collected when we checked in. I think it's not fair. |The room was very small which was OK, but smelled bad. It smelled like sewage. To muffle the smell, there are perfume or something, it was too strong and made me feel sick. Very poor amenity, there were no shampoo or soap, or bath mat. The most terrible thing was the room air conditioner was way too noisy. My husband or I hardly slept that night. Even if we turned off it, the other rooms same noise was still very loud. The next door of the hotel is restaurant which was very noisy with loud music and people's chat. It's one of the worst experience of our hotel stay.|Stay away.

I had high hopes this resort would be a pleasure given it's location. I stayed 3 days. Unfortunately I was terribly disappointed. No hot water. Reported it, claimed it was fixed, but it wasn't. Bathroom newly tiled, but the vanity was falling apart, no stopper in the sink, small shelf not secured to the wall correctly, Very dirty. A total shame, with that location and a little effort this could be a nice resort. Do yourself a favor, choose another location.

Yelp
Where do I begin. Non-smoking two bedroom suite smelled like smoke the minute I open the door. Faucet was falling off the sink in the bathroom and there was a bucket to catch water that had to be emptied. Air conditioning unit in one bedroom had the filter out and when I opened it I saw it was filled with mold. That same air conditioner kept leaking into the wall, making the paint bubble and burst. Mold in the shower and around all of the air vents in the bedrooms. Outside is nice however, however lots of guys that are not staying there are hanging around the pool. This was a really nice place that I stayed 3 times before but the new owner is letting it slide. Not worth the $2600 for the week. I won't be back!

Yelp
My brother, I and my mom stayed at Island Sands Inn for a night for my mom's 60th birthday in May 2018. We got there pretty late, it located opposite of an apartment building, not too hard to find. Mike (the host) waited us patiently, he explained everything top to bottom to us, his hospitality was outstanding. As there's a tiny issue in our Double Queen Premium Suite bathroom, it's too late to be fixed and Mike worried about our comfort, he offered us a single room for free. It became the best birthday gift for my mom to have the whole room by herself. You have to choose your breakfast the day before and it would be prepared and sent directly to your room, Oh, the breakfast was huge. As I went out to buy flower for my mom and got back a little late, Mike again waited for us and nothing is better than a understanding host. We love everything about Island Sands Inn, room is well deco, warm environment, outstanding hospitality, great little pool. We will be back and stay longer.

Yelp
Staying here is better than staying at any hotel in Fort Lauderdale. I was a little skeptical when my friend first brought up the idea only because I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. The experience was unparalleled and I don't think Mike and Jim could have been any better hosts. Upon checking-in they asked if we wanted any (free) beer or liquor. A great way to make your guest happy. Our room was of decent size with a pretty big bathroom. Outside of our window was the small leisure pool which unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy during our stay.

Yelp
Great location, rented a studio villa. Or was clean, had everything we needed. Poll was warm and amazing. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Mike! Jim! We made it home!! Oh this review will be my favorite to write! So let's do this! On may 3rd my husband & I checked into island sands inn. We came a tad early and we were greeted outside with a warm welcome by Mike!!! What a beautiful guy he is!! Brought us back to the pool, chatted it up a bit! Sweetheart! We entered our room #2 (over looking pool and and luscious private deck for the guests) the room was spotless, very welcoming and can I say these guys have thought of EVERYTHING when it comes to making it comfortable for their guests!! Never in my travels have I encountered this! Walked in to a cool room after being in the heat, ceiling fan going and music on! Comfortable bed Huge shower & separate tub! Great towels, 2 pool towels, make up cloths Coffee maker with plenty coffee, different creamers, actual coffee cups ( no paper here) red solo cups (no cheap plastic cups) Complimentary waters & wine w/real wine glasses! Stocked refrigerator n snack basket for a very reasonable fee. Plenty of easy to get to outlets to plug in. Push button entry instead of carrying around a room key. Cable tv with plenty of channels Cushy pillows. They have thought of everything!! Let's go outside! Large clean pool nice umbrellas and seating/lounging. Each seating area had cutters spray for those Florida no see ems!! Haha! Small freezer with ice cubes..yay! Floats for the pool Luscious greens & flowered plants. No idea what they are called so I will call them blooming beauties!!! Palms, ferns and more palms!!!! Very private!! Got to love that!! Soft lighting at night, no big bright lights. That's annoying!!!! Mike was so accommodating. Always asking if we need anything with his fabulous friendly smile! Nice breakfast choices and served to us pool side in the morning and the coffee!!! Oh yeah!! The area... let's go! Close to eats & drinks. Yes you can walk! Nice area!!! Not far from beach even though we didn't go to beach. No need, we loved it right where we were. Loved this place and everything about it so much that we immediately rebooked same room to spend our last 2 days of a 2 weeks vacation. Came back after travels to the keys. Was sweetly welcomed by Jim! Was so nice meeting him!!!! Didn't talk long cause we were so beat! Great vibes! Enjoyed a very relaxing last 2 days. We WILL be back. Not going to bother looking else where when we visit Ft Lauderdale! Island Sands Inn will be our permanent home away from home! Thank you Mike & Jim!! We love ya!!! Keeping shining!!! The Grubers Jackie (my review) & Jerry ;)

Yelp
This is a gem located just around the corner from the Drive. Easy walking distance to everything in Wilton Manors. But best of all is the friendly warm service combined with the cleanliness of the rooms and the property. The pool is delightful, featuring lush landscaping. Can't beat it.

Yelp
When I saw the reviews online, I was so excited to find a location close to family in Wilton Manors. Our stay was wonderful over the Christmas weekend. The beds were great, the kitchen had a lot of amenities (full sized fridge), and I loved the decor. We were very comfortable and even had parking! Oh and the internet speed for WiFi was first rate. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I wish to add my voice to the other positive reviews here. My three day stay at the Island Sands Inn was lovely. The Inn is pretty, peaceful and clean. There are complimentary bottles of water and wine in the room. The hosts, Mike and Jim, are super friendly and helpful and respectful of their guests' privacy. While soaking in the salt water pool I felt like I had found a little piece of heaven. The Inn is also well located and my first night I walked to a fabulous sushi restaurant and the next day to a coffee place. There's also a funky thrift shop a block or so away that supports a local animal rescue organization. I would return to the Island Sands Inn in a heartbeat!

Yelp
First of all let me tell you that Mike and Jim are what genuine hospitable host should be. I travel so much and stay at many hotels and have never felt as welcomed as I did at their inn. I felt like I was at home and they very welcoming. The room was very clean and they have wonderful snack and a fridge and microwave :-) plus complimentary wine! The best part even though I had an early flight was their complimentary breakfast. Wow!!! I will be staying here anytime I visit Fort Lauderdale! :-)

Yelp
The owners and their staff made us feel like family. The room was spotless. I will make sure to book a room for the next time.
