Isle of Raasay Distillery

We stayed in one of the new Bothans, and once we worked out how to get the heating on it was really lovely, spacious, comfortable and the views from the full height windows are amazing. We got breakfast delivered on the first morning, so we could relax and enjoy the space and the views, which was a lovely treat. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food and service was excellent. The distillery tour and whisky tasting was really interesting and informative. And of course, the whisky was delicious. The island is small but really beautiful and there’s so much to discover. The receptionist told us about a beach near the village where we could find fossils and we went on a search and found one!

Ooohh boy this is the spot! We booked bothy 3 - one of their newly built stays. It was STUNNING, the view from bed, the view from the bath, the views from the deck were a delight. We stayed 2 nights early November 2025, got really lucky to have a mostly clear full day here. We had breakfast delivered to the bothy, had it in bed with the view of Skye, watching the clouds roll over the mountains. That morning will be etched into my soul for eternity. If you stay in a bothy, get the breakfast delivered, have a slow morning munching away looking at the view there is nothing else like it. You might even get lucky and see some of the coos wandering around the paddock below. Jaimie (kiwi staff member) checked us in, had us for dinner - the scallops were fire, thanks chef! - and took us on the distillery tour. It was so informative and we had the best time and were treated so well by her and the whole team. I cannot recommend a stay here enough, especially in the new bothys. The added touch of getting to try a few drams of their signature whiskeys was *chefs kiss*. 100/10 team, literally no notes. We can’t wait to get back - Heather + Bree

A fantastic stay in a beautiful location with amazing staff. The whole experience was amazing with a welcoming dram of single malt and great room. We chose to do the Distillery tour and so glad we did, interesting and informative. The location on the Isle of Raasay is special enough without the added extras, we particularly liked the limited number of rooms as it made the whole experience feel very personal.

A unique experience! Situated on a beautiful small island, the distillery boasts magnificent views. Staff will give advice on sights to see and places to visit. The hospitality is first rate, the rooms are really comfortable and the welcome dram is nice touch. Great local and seasonal food in the restaurant, tours of the distillery by knowledgeable staff. What's not to like?

Had such an amazing stay at the distillery in Na Bothain on Raasay. The warmest of welcomes, great food, warm and comfortable with incredible views the whole stay was just sublime. Thank you so much to all the staff, they make it a truly unique experience..can’t wait to return for more island time.

Everyone at the distillery was incredibly accommodating and willing to help in any way. The ferry broke down and while delayed, the distillery accommodated our large group of 15+ people for lunch without hesitation. Information was provided on shipping their products home. Rooms were very nice and all have some complementary spirits for your stay. 10/10 incredible experience with incredible views.

Was our first and only scheduled event. The tasting and tour was great from history, to how to, to the actual tasting. Whisky is top notch, staff was highly educated and humble, food afterwards was better than expected on a late season, ferry only access location. Views unbeatable!

We loved every minute of our stay! Friendly, helpful staff. A great distillery tour and whisky tasting . A beautiful room with the most spectacular view ... There is so much to love about this place, we've been telling everyone we know to make it a top priority on their travel itineraries.

Absolutely loved this place. Tasted their whisky in San Francisco at the whisky shop and from that taste decided to add Raasay to our itinerary on our trip to Scotland. So glad we did. Whisky was amazing, tour was great, island was gorgeous, and the venison dish at the restaurant was delicious. My favorite meal from the entire 3.5 week trip! Loved that you could bottle your own whisky to take home. Also loved the large variety of whiskies they have (regularly changing out their special edition bottles). They have a nice bar where you can try all of their whiskies too. I love that because I don't like buying bottles without tasting it first. They have a good bar menu as well. Raasay whisky is likely to be always in the house from here on out. Oh and the bottles are a cool shape too.

Emma was such a gem! We visited Raasay for just a few hours as part of our longer trip around Scotland, and Emma made our very brief stop here so incredibly memorable. She was SO, SO knowledgeable about all of the different casks they offered, and my partner was able to sample a few and find the one we ended up purchasing. We got engaged a few days prior while on this trip, so she really just made this stop feel even more fun and special in light of it all. Thank you, Emma!

In an absolutely beautiful location across from Isle of Skye. They have hotel rooms available which were comfortable, but the breakfast service people were the nicest people and made me feel very welcome
