"Overlooking a quiet, cobbled street and the leafy Parque Forestal—a charming city park inspired by its Parisian counterparts—this modern boutique hotel opened in October 2013, becoming one of the latest additions to Santiago ’s bohemian Lastarria neighborhood. There are many more hotels opening in this burgeoning “barrio,” including the Singular Santiago, which opened its doors in October 2014. Guest rooms in this tall, thin building are spread throughout nine floors, while communal areas include a basement restaurant, street-level café and lounge, and rooftop terrace with great views of Cerro San Cristóbal, as well as a modest-sized pool. With its monochrome color scheme and modern artwork, Ismael 312 wouldn’t look out of place in New York's Meatpacking District. The original artwork includes a stylized map in the entrance lobby, and a mural by Chilean artist Ramuntcho Matta, which creeps up the wall from the lobby, spreading up all nine floors. Breakfast is continental with croissants and coffee, plus a good assortment of newspapers. Tables spill out onto the patio, so guests can watch the world go by."

Hotel Ismael 312 (Santiago, Chile) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Call it Ismael 312. Some years ago — never mind how long precisely — having little in the way of design hotels, and nothing particular to interest the restless global nomad, the insular city of Santiago quietly took to the construction of a new crop of contemporary boutique hotels. Among the first fruits of this new wave of hotel construction is Ismael 312, a nine-story contemporary boutique hotel in an easy-on-the-eye modern minimalist style, just off the Parque Forestal in Santiago’s historic city center." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed here with our college aged children for 4 nights. We enjoyed the park views from our rooms even though it was winter. The hotel is centrally located near restaurants and also to many tourist destinations. The staff was outstanding. They spoke English very well and were very helpful at booking us tours and restaurants when we needed assistance. The buffet breakfasts had everything you could desire and were very good. Highly recommend this delightful hotel!

Location: excellent, walkable to many top attractions, restaurants and across a beautiful park. Felt safe walking at night as long as you walk in the busier and well lit street Monjitas! |Staff: Super polite, attentive and friendly. From the front desk to the breakfast area - hats off🥳👏👏|The breakfast is a good spread of cold cuts- ham, turkey, cheese; veggies; fruits; bread; pastries. There’s good coffee, fruit juices and different kinds of bread. |Bedroom: comfortable bed and pillows. Shower has good pressure/ water can get pretty hot! Room is not as big as usual hotels but perfect for us- we only need a place to sleep! |Reasonable price. Clean and sleek!

Such a lovely hotel! The interieur is very cozy and nicely decorated. We had a park view room and the view was stunning. The sunset views from the rooftop (where the pool is located) are incredible too. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is amazing as well. 10/10 - recommend staying here Thank you for this nice experience in Santiago

I'm truly baffled by these reviews. Was our room the only one that was shabby, dirty and run down in the entire hotel? Aside from the location of Hotel Ismael (wonderful location across from Parque Forestal and a stone's throw from lively Lastarria), and the views from our balcony room, we were sorely disappointed by our experience.||I cannot understand how most reviewers rated Ismael "spotlessly clean." Our room was not, and our bathroom needed major attention. Stained, matted carpet in the rooms (and bug carcasses on the floor when we arrived). Layers of dust on surfaces. What appeared to be black mold in the shower, along with a calcified shower head and sink drain. I've added photos. I wore slippers in the room the entire time we were there because I didn't want my feet to touch the floors. There was also litter in the hallways outside our room.||Staff was fine, but we were rarely greeted or acknowledged as we came and went. Breakfast staff was much more attentive. Breakfast was standard South American buffet.||It's hard to believe we had the only shabby in room in the hotel, but I guess I will just caution visitors to avoid room 712 then. I would not stay again.

Two major issues both occurred at check-in:||||1. Having paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights we arrived at the hotel at around 9am after a 15 hour flight to check in. The receptionist told us that we could not have our rooms as we had not notified them that we would be checking in the day after the day of the booking. So even though we had paid for 2 nights we were being denied access to the room for the first night. It was only when we pushed the point that the receptionist agreed that we could have our room - the whole decision took 15 minutes and we were opening our bags in reception to change out of our clothes before he conceded the point so it was a bad start.||||2. As is normal, we needed to provide a credit card at check in to cover any incidentals. I gave my card and thought nothing more about it. On check out a different receptionist apologised and explained that instead of taking a retention I had actually been charged $150. He was super apologetic and assured me that the refund would be processed on the next working day. 4 weeks later and I have not received the refund. The hotel tells me I need to contact my credit card company but my credit card company tells me that it is the hotel’s obligation to issue the refund. The only way my credit card company can help is if I report the transaction as fraudulent - hence the subject of this review.||||Those points aside the hotel was as described - small but comfortable rooms and a decent location and nice breakfast. However, the two incidents at check in suggests that at least one of the reception staff is not acting honestly and therefore I would advise against booking with this hotel. ||||||We stayed at the W Hotel on our next visit and that was fantastic and no one scammed us.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very attentive. The view from our room looking over the park with the mountains in the background was gorgeous. Within walking distance to some very nice restaurants/bars as well as the Funicular at Cerro San Cristóbal. Overall a great experience.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. |The rooms are comfortable and the hotel has a great location: quiet, across from the park, yet centrally located in the Lastarria, Santiago's most charming neighborhood. Everything is perfect for a family stay!

Clean and beautifully decorated rooms, excellent location (near subway stations, museums and great restaurants) and a delicious breakfast. Also, the staff is friendly and very helpful. If you plan on going to any of those snow parks and ski areas, like Farellones and Valle Nevado, they’ll give you an assistance, including breakfast for the road and tips on where to purchase your tickets for these attractions.

Yelp
Hotel Ismael Is much better than being home!! We stayed here for a second time while attending the International Bee Convention in Santiago... First of all the staff makes me feel ...okay I have to say it....at home. Seriously. everything is quiet. It helps that we are on the Park side of the hotel. But I doubt it's too different on the street side, and the neighborhood is not crazy loud. Ismael is near the Bella's Artes, subways, theaters....It is near GAM...a great entertainment and musuem center. It is in a neighborhood that is lively, full of artists and great restaurants. Museums. And the park is full of families and well behaved dogs..(and remember, they're dogs!). The staff, (the staff!!!) and in particular, Diego, is over the top in skill and support for whatever you request. each of them are attentive, and pleasant.... They are also fun and lively without being Solicitous. If that's the right word. The room service, laundry service...is efficient ....and the overall ambiance is quiet and beautiful. I should add that I spent 25 years as a professional Interior Designer. I pay attention to detail. Like sound attenuation, simple, neutral color, and great materials. I could add more...but simply put, it's the most relaxed, well tuned environment one could ask for on a vacation, as well as work related visit. Bravo, Ismael. I salute your staff, and your environment!

Yelp
This place is like the definition of "charming but affordable boutique hotel." The neighborhood is lively with plenty of outdoor seating at cafes and restaurants a few blocks away landing an exciting buzz, while leaving the actual hotel quiet and calm, with a park just across the street. The staff are warm, friendly, and exceedingly helpful. The interior is beautiful, with books of art displayed on shelves in the lobby, and a mural on a wall spanning eight floors, and a spacious breakfast area, accompanying roomy rooms with beautiful views.

Yelp
This hotel is VERY conveniently located in Santiago. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly (even tho my Spanish is terrible). Our room had a small balcony overlooking one of the parks. The hotel is at a walking distance from many of the parks and sightseeing spots in Santiago. Also, it was very easy to commute to from the airport. Our stay included breakfast which was a variety of baked goods, cold cut meats, eggs cooked to order and coffee (espresso and drip). They also put out snacks (cookies and fruit) in the afternoon in the back lobby along with coffee and tea, which is a great amenity.

Yelp
New hotel located on Ismael Valdez and also facing Parque Forestal. Designed with an urban touch, Hotel Ismael offers a little more than your average skyrise hotel. Walk inside and you're in a cute little coffee shop where you can enjoy an artisanal coffee. The coffee shop and downstairs restaurant are open to both the hotel guests and the public. Everything from the drawings on the wall to the modern lights have an urban sophisticated look. The rooms are spacious however not the most impressive I have seen they are comfortable but not luxurious. The hotel seems marketed for someone traveling on business rather than a couple on a romantic getaway. In fact the hotel has everything a busy traveler needs, cafe, restaurant and lounge. Their rooftop pool is charming and designed for a quick afternoon dip to cool off. They have a multilingual staff that cater to their guests in a professional and kind manner.

Yelp
Great location and fabulous Customer Service. Guiseppe, Renaldo, Lucas, Diego, Joaquin, Andres and Leonardo are AWESOME. My wife and I have enjoyed the Park Views, the friendly smiles, the comfortable room, 9th floor pool, etc make this a great choice...but being situated near Bella Vista and Bella Lastarria with neighborhood walking, people watching, shops and outdoor dining make it a perfect location to explore Santiago.
