Fantastic story which is well told by the exhibition. The volunteers are all really friendly, knowledgable and great for chatting all things modernist architecture. We’ve visited a couple of times and it’s such a beautiful building.

A British Modernist masterpiece; home to Agatha Christie, spies and centre of an intellectual circle. Isokon Flats, also known as Lawn Road Flats and the Isokon building, on Lawn Road in the Belsize Park district of the London Borough of Camden, is a reinforced-concrete block of 36 flats (originally 32), designed by Canadian engineer Wells Coates for Molly and Jack Pritchard. Celebrated residents included: Bauhaus émigrés Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer, and László Moholy-Nagy; architects Egon Riss and Arthur Korn; writer Agatha Christie (between 1941 and 1947) and her husband Max Mallowan, art historian Adrian Stokes, the author Nicholas Monsarrat, the archaeologist V. Gordon Childe, modernist architect Jacques Groag and his wife, textile designer Jacqueline Groag.

It is an interesting and iconic large modernist building built in the 1930s. A small museum and shop give a useful background history. Recommended.

Really great small museum on Isokon. If you’re lucky one of the volunteers who live there will let you see their flat. Even if you don’t it’s still worth the visit for the striking architecture.

Beautiful building with an interesting history. The small exhibition on the history of the building and the people who lived there is very interesting. Volunteers are very helpful and lovely. It is a bit sad that it isn't possible to see one of the flats on normal days.

Small museum talking about the history of this amazing modernist building. Mainly open at weekends but well worth visiting if you are interested in modern architecture or the amazing mixture of people who lived here in the 1930s and 40s.
