The park is a charming and well designed green space located right in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District. Surrounded by major streets, the park offers a peaceful contrast to the city’s fast pace. Positioned in front of the Presidential Residence, the Istana, the park spans 13,000 square metres and serves as the gateway to the Civic District Trail an initiative that highlights Singapore’s historical and cultural heritage. The main attraction is the 26 metre high Festival Arch, a striking stainless steel and concrete structure set in a reflecting pool. Inspired by the Istana’s gateposts, the arch stands as a symbolic entrance to Orchard Road. The nighttime lighting adds a tranquil and elegant atmosphere to the space. The addition of the Istana Heritage Gallery in 2017 adds an educational layer to the visit. While the park is relatively small, it is beautifully landscaped and ideal for a short, reflective walk or a quiet break in the city.

Istana Park is a beautifully landscaped escape from the bustling city, featuring the impressive Festival Arch and a tranquil reflecting pool. The park is well-maintained and perfect for leisurely strolls, picnics, or simply relaxing amidst vibrant flora. Its central location makes it easily accessible, and it’s a great spot to unwind after shopping on Orchard Road. The park also hosts cultural events, adding to its charm. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful moment in Singapore!

A park located right across the Istana and Plaza Singapura that most people may not know or visit even if they past by frequently. It is not big but well maintained and pleasant. The greenery provides a good respite from the malls and hotels along Orchard Road

Istana Park is bounded by Orchard Road, Penang Road, Penang Lane and Buyong Road. Easy access with SMRT or Bus at Dhoby Ghaut station. The size of the park is quiet huge 1.3 hectares. It is lighted daily from 7 pm-7 am. Very nice and peaceful place.

Nice little piece of green heaven in the middle of a well-known shopping district. While it is not good for picnics, it is a good place to clear the clutter up in your mind by walking among the kept lush. There are seats if you fancy eating lunch there. And it does provide some shade from the sun and heat.

Yelp
Istana Park is a charming LITTLE city park. Although TINY, it's quite popular for locals to take a break in. It has (1) a large, beautiful reflection pool, with the nice, 2-storied, "My Art Space Café" on one end, and a covered pavilion with picnic tables on the other (see pic); (2) A tiny charming pond with lotus flowers and, yes, turtles, that would come to the edge of pond to wait for food! (- see video); (3) Short trails which are stone-paved, mostly shaded, lined with flowers, matured trees, and many stone benches all around the park. Amidst the sounds of traffic, one can still hear birds chirping. There is also a beautiful covered, scenic corridor, running parallel to the street, lined with flowers and shrubs. Istana Park is located across the Istana and Plaza Singapura, next to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. There is a crossover tunnel between Plaza Singapura and the park, as well as the MRT. - Despite its name, this park is NOT inside the Istana complex, where the Presidential Residence and the Office of the Prime Minister are located. Go enjoy! Apr 2015

Yelp
Right by the train station, a tiny green space with lush plants and flowers amid the concrete jungle. Benches available to sit at while listening to birds chirping.

Yelp
A wonderful little park 100 m away from the Doby Ghaut metro station, tucked away between the beginning of Orchard Street and other busy streets. A mini-lake and floating waterlilies, marble benches and rustling trees. A delight to hide from the hassle and bustle of Orchard Road.
