We had an excellent stay at this resort. It’s paradise on earth and very friendly staff.|The manager helped us translating in Bahasa when there was an issue we had with Garuda airlines, also we were allowed to use there phone. Her help really saved us from big trouble and a lot of stress! |Also we are very grateful for the extra work Rose (the cook) making a kwee lapis as birthday cake for my husbands birthday. It was the best kwee lapis we’ve ever tasted.|The manager also arranged fishing gear for a boattrip at the river for us at a very short notice as a birthday surprise for my husband, which was really appreciated a lot.|Also we are very grateful for all the help to arrange the transport etc. When two members of our family had suddenly had to leave earlier because of an emergency at home.|We highly recommend to stay at this beautiful place with very good service and everything taking care of very well.

An Absolute Hidden Gem in Watu Karung, Pacitan This place is an absolute treasure tucked away in the heart of Watu Karung. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations—making it a truly complete and satisfying stay. The accommodation was spotless, the view breathtaking, and the food? Wonderfully delicious with exceptionally generous portions! Whether you’re a solo traveler, coming with friends, or enjoying a family getaway, this spot is a perfect fit for all. One of the standout features is its unbeatable location for surfing, plus a private path that leads directly to the beach—peaceful and exclusive. They also offer complimentary bikes, making it easy to explore the charming village and coastline at your own pace. Although the weather wasn’t on our side this time, it didn’t dampen the experience. We’re already excited to return under clearer skies. A special shoutout to Mbak Dewi, whose warm hospitality made us feel truly at home. Don’t hesitate to connect with her—she’ll be more than happy to assist with anything you need.

They say: hard to find, harder to leave. I would say : possible to find, impossible to leave. We stayed a few nights in this paradise where everything is so beautiful and people so nice. High level of confort and still the feeling that you are so far away from everything !

We spent six unforgettable days at Istana Ombak Eco resort and we highly recommend it. Everything exceeded our expectations – from the immaculate cleanliness to the beautiful and tasteful interior design. The villa is ideally located right on the beach, offering breathtaking views and the soothing sound of the ocean just steps away. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, always available to help or simply have a pleasant conversation. The staff is exceptionally helpful, professional, and warm-hearted, making us feel completely at home. One of the highlights was the stunning swimming pool – clean, elegant, and perfect for relaxing at any time of the day. The entire place offers absolute privacy and tranquility, making it an ideal spot for unwinding and disconnecting from the outside world. Whether you’re looking for peaceful relaxation or wish to explore the surroundings, Istana Ombak is a perfect base. The owners are happy to arrange excursions and give great recommendations for nearby attractions. The food was outstanding – everything fresh and full of flavor. Breakfasts were generous, including fresh tropical fruit and delicious fresh juices every morning. Istana Ombak truly is a hidden gem – a place where you can recharge your body and soul. Cannot rate highly enough ! Huge shout out to Rod, Dewi and the crew. Just completed a 10 night surf trip at IstanaOmbak Eco resort, booked through World Surfaris, and from day 1 they impressed. We had an airport issue that delayed our boards for a day but Rod from IstanaOmbak had our backs and lent us surfboards and gear to get us into the surf. In the meantime Dewi worked in the background sorting the issue out. From that point on we knew we were in good hands ! With Rod's knowledge of the area, he always had us in the water at the best times. Always giving us great advise on the left and right out the front to get us into the waves the easiest and to keep us safe to surf again. Though we still managed to get some great wipeouts 😂 As well as the surf directly out the front we got to travel and surf some other local spots in Rod's book of waves and also check out the amazing Javanese culture. Food.... well the easiest way to describe this is 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Mouthwatering and amazing !!! We never went hungry and was always trying to cram in that one last mouthful. In fact we could never finish our dinner (no matter how hard we tried) as there was such an array of delicious local dishes. All made with the freshest ingredients sourced locally. The accommodation was awesome, clean and spacious, especially our villa which was literally on the beach. It sounded like the waves were breaking on the doorstep at night, a great way to fall asleep. All in all it was an amazing surf trip and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lots of laughs, banter, surf and a couple of Javan reef tattoos to remember the place by. Great facilities, excellent team hosting, beach front with beautiful beach and water, outstanding waves, excellent experience, recommend very highly, probably my first choice for accommodation and surfing Java.

Spent two days in this resort. The staff and the owner are very welcome and helpfull. The room is clean and the hotel is very clean and comfy. You can enjoy the beach from the restaurant and the food tested amazing.

We had the best holiday experience here. Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Excellent service. The most caring and knowledgeable owners. Our two sons had an amazing time and my husband couldn’t have been happier with the access to the surf and quality of it. The local children were so friendly and made my youngest son feel so welcome.
