Istar Restaurant & Banquet

Very disappointing experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the customer service at iStar Restaurant was extremely poor. Staff were unorganized, inattentive, and showed little interest in helping customers. Simple requests were ignored, and the overall attitude made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Good food means nothing if the service doesn’t match. I hope management takes this seriously and improves how customers are treated, because right now it’s far below acceptable standards.

What a surprise we had finding this gem! A Somalian food joint which was amazing in the variety they offered. All freshly cooked and great service too. A lot of people do take outs but many dine in too . Quiet a lot of seating in the restaurant . You order first and then find a table. Portion sizes were big. I did see some people doing communal eating on the big portions. Very friendly staff and they also have a small variety of desserts if one has a sweet tooth. Lots of parking as it's a small strip mall

Nice food selection with a wide menu. This was my first visit with friends, and I really enjoyed it. The beef and chicken wraps were flavorful, the fresh juices were excellent, and the special hot tea was a great touch. The atmosphere is fantastic, with plenty of seats and tables, making it a great place for groups to gather and enjoy the food. There is also a small fast-food bar with multiple choices of meats and sides, which I’m looking forward to trying on my next visit. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend it.

We had an excellent experience hosting our event here. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food was absolutely top notch all our guests loved it. The management was very accommodating and made sure everything ran smoothly. A special thanks to Faiza for her attention to detail and for ensuring everything was perfectly organized, making our evening truly memorable. Highly recommend this place for any special gathering or events.

The goat curry had very good flavor in it and the goat came off the bone. Even if you don’t get it, ask for the gravy on your rice. The chicken saquur was flavorful and juicy. The veggie sides were amazing too. Ordering is a little confusing, but ask the servers behind the counter for help if you’re confused.

I can’t recommend enough this place. Best value ever; food is great. We shared goat, pork and chicken options; meals include rice which for three people you can see how much that was. Service is also great; people are very friendly and helpful, when I asked for recommendations they actually gave us pretty good feedback on the different meals they offered. Mango juice tastes pretty good, very refreshing with this combination of flavors. Plus: they gave us three little wraps as a house gift. Everything for the best price we’ve found in Toronto. Definitely recommend to come here, I look forward to comeback.

We held our Walima(Wedding Dinner) here. It was my first time (husband) but my wife had been prior. The staff were phenomenal, they went above and beyond to make our night special and exceptionally memorable. The food was some of the finest I've ever had, the chicken and lamb were great — but the goat was hands down the best I've ever had. Our party of 10 all loved the food and drinks. The portions were massive, we ordered 2 platters - but it ended up being 3. This is my 2nd time coming to this place as I am an “out of towner” and love the service and hospitality this restaurant offers. You’ll always find the best food at places you would never think of venturing to. Thanks.
