We stayed at iStay Cottages on the evening of August 6, 2025. We chose to stay here due to its proximity to the Keflavik Airport and we had to be at the airport for 4:30am. The stay did begin with us not having our check-in information which we were partly to blame because I didn’t notice that it was never sent amongst all the other confirmations, etc. for this particular vacation. Unfortunately, when I tried to call, my travel SIM would not put the call through and my emails which I sent the day of our reservation went unanswered ( I later found out that the host only checks emails once a day). Thankfully the staff at Happy Camper near the airport let me use their phone and I was able to speak to the host and get everything sorted out. Apparently there is an ongoing issue with Expedia and their email messaging system. The host gave us the code for the key box and information about the use of the common space. Our cottage had a queen bed and a fold-down couch for our son, blackout blinds and a spacious bathroom with all the toiletries one would need. The common space had coffee, tea and a lot of items left by past guests which were made available for our use. There was every kitchen utensil, pot, device one could need to make a meal. There was a toaster, microwave, kettle, large fridge and stove. The beds were clean and comfortable. Although the cottages are near the airport, we rarely heard air traffic during our stay and had a great night's sleep. Check out was easy. All we needed to do was lock our door and drop the key in the drop box at the main building. We would definitely stay at this location again.
