"Copenhagen’s freshest smoothest ice-cream in the basement on Jægersborggade is snapped frozen with cold liquid nitrogen. This smoky cool scientific experiment only uses the freshest organic ingredients with no additives to fix that ice-cream hit. Head down while the sun is hot (March - October) and bite into their classic salty caramel icecream topped with caramelised almonds with a hint of rosemary and sea salt! or try their ever changing seasonal menu before the sun goes down." - Kaktus København

This ice cream is exceptional. Every flavor I have tried has been absolutely amazing. Regardless of where you are in the city this place is worth a special trip. You will not be disappointed. Very friendly and kind service.

10/10 everything was perfect. The waffle, toppings and of course the star of the show. The freshly made ice cream what a experience !! You have to try

Istid always has amazing icecream, on par with the amazing service! The picture here doesn't do the kimchi icecream justice, it was truly a delicious and unique experience! 😋

I have stopped sinning so that when I die, I will go to Istid. This is some of the best ice cream I have ever had--certainly some of the best in Copenhagen. They mix the ice cream fresh, right in front of you, with foggy nitrogen going everywhere, like a witch's cauldron. The flavor is fresh and natural, but still sweet, and the texture is velvety and creamy. They have a limited set of fresh flavors each day--about half a dozen--but you will find something you love. Do yourself a favor and splurge on a sundae. The waffles and crunchy toppings are phenomenal, and the cardamom waffles are inspired. We tried the mint chocolate chip, the salted caramel, the classic vanilla, and the mango coconut. Incredible. All other ice cream tastes like ash in my mouth now. I only want Istid.

Google
Loved the vanilla ice cream. Creamy and did not taste artificial. I didn’t really like the waffle that came with it - but that’s ok, the ice cream is the star. Liquid nitrogen is used to make the ice cream fresh in front of you. I like it so much that i am thinking of returning to try another flavour

We LOVED this place. They make everything in-house and the flavours are exquisite and super fresh. Also as someone who doesn’t like cones, their homemade cardamom waffle cones are beautiful 🤤. And we love, love the staff - such friendly, cool, helpful people

Small but delish ice cream shop in one of Copenhagen‘s coolest streets. Go for the classic flavors and enjoy instant frozen ice cream magic. Super friendly staff.

Google
Best best best best best best best ice cream. And amazing prices and sundae combos. I hope this place will forever be there, in my opinion there should be a line twice as long as any other ice cream store. Hidden gem for now :)

Yelp
Delicious ice cream made with nitrogen ice in front of you when you order. I am totally digging the salty caramel. I could only eat that every time I'm there. While there I tried the white balsamic strawberry flavour as well, which was also delicious but not my type of ice cream. The flavour of strawberry was really intense and just so natural. No additives and no artificial flavouring. Again, not my type of ice cream but very good. The nitrogen is giving the ice such a great, smooth and creamy texture. Just amazing.

Yelp
Maybe I'm a bit biased since I'm a huge fan of ice cream. In my opinion, ice cream can never be bad, but this place is definitely something. For a start, the ice cream is freshly made, right before your eyes. Granted they don't have much flavors to choose from, but those they have on the menu on the wall are all amazing. You order the flavor, the topping and the size and voila! She made it right in front of you with those Kitchen Aid in rows and added with nitrogen to freeze it instantly. A little chemistry trick that goes a long way for pleasure :) I got the creamy orange topped with valrhona chocolate and my only regret was that I only got it in mini size, should've gotten medium or even large! Anders A got coconut lime topped with sesame seeds that oddly tasted amazing (the seeds give saltiness) and Mina K got the salted caramel that it's salty and crunchy. Now that it's spring and the sun is out more and that my friends mostly live in Nørrebro, not far from this place, I might visit this place more!

Yelp
Don't see what the fuss is about. Ice cream chilled with liquid nitrogen is a fun concept in theory, but the flavor is killed by the extra cool temperature and all of the ice cream seemed to have a weird aftertaste. Outrageously pricey and the taste itself is not good enough for this. You're paying for the show of liquid nitrogen cooled ice cream, not the food itself. Save your money, there are plenty of small businesses with better ice cream nearby

Yelp
What a cool concept - nitrogen-made ice cream! AND the only one in Scandinavia?? How lucky (and dangerous) that Istid happens to be located not only in Copenhagen but right around the corner from my apartment :) Came here during Yelp Ice Cream Week and took advantage of the Yelp check-in deal that was 2-for-1 mini ice creams. We got one Stracciatella with the black current topping and one Salted Caramel with the Almond Rosemary Crunch. I thought I would need more than a mini ice cream to satisfy my sweet tooth but it turned out that it was the perfect before dinner snack size and much bigger than I anticipated. There was just the right amount of topping on each one so you got a little bit with every bite. Both flavors were so good, though I think I prefer the salted caramel out of the two because (1) it's one of my favorite flavors in general (2) the combination of ice cream + topping was perfection and (3) the consistency of the salted caramel was better than the stracciatella (it was a little watery towards the end). The concept of Istid is very cool - they have a few Kitchen Aid mixers set up behind the counter and make the ice cream right in front of you. Very fun process to watch them pour in the nitrogen and liquid ice cream and watch the magic unfold. The store itself is very small, only a few seats inside and a single bench outside. Very much a takeaway place in my opinion. Luckily Istid is located on Jægersborggade, the perfect street to walk on while having some ice cream. There is also a nice cemetery at the end of the road where you sit or walk around. For me the lack of seating isn't so bad when you think about these options. Overall - great great ice cream place that I will come back to many times in the future :)

Yelp
The experience and the quality was absolutely amazing!! She makes the ice cream fresh for you and the ingredients are fresh as well! I ordered the fresh mint chocolate chip with cookie crumbs and my sister got salted caramel with almond crunch

Yelp
Good service, a great show, and excellent ice cream! Though it is a little gimmicky I can't help but love the concept and the setup of the place. There are three beautiful KitchenAids in trendy colours and luckily we were three so we got to see all of them in action. The flavoured cream is already made so when you've ordered, the lovely girl working there immediately pours it into the mixer with liquid nitrogen. The result is an ice cream that is frozen so fast that ice crystals don't have much of a chance to form. I got the Salty Caramel (medium, 40 DKK) with the suggested Almond Crunch topping (+5 DKK) and it was so creamy and delicious! I also got to try a bite of Eva K's Creamy Orange with Valrhona chocolate and Anders A's Coconut Lime with Sesame Sprinkle. Although I enjoyed them all, I think the Coconut Lime with sesame balances sweet, sour, and salty the best. Plus it is vegan! Siciliansk Is was my favourite ice cream joint, but I think it is now a tie.

Yelp
Lovely small ice cream shop. They have a few choices of ice cream and different toppings. They make the ice cream on the spot and it's fun to watch. The ice cream itself is a bit expensive but soooo good!

Yelp
So delicious, they make it super quick and right in front of you. Also looks really cool when they pour in the liquid nitrogen. 30dkk for 2 scoops for the mini size, quite worth!

Yelp
Never have I ever eaten ice cream made with dry ice. Until last weekend. I didn't really know what to expect you guys. I mean, the interwebs told me what to expect, but it's sort of like when that really good movie comes out and everyone tells you it's AMAZING and then you go see it and you're like, MEH, it's was aight. ISTID is more than aight though, it's AWESOME. Talk about the instant gratification you feel by filling your tastebuds with freshly made ice cream that you didn't have to make yourself. Watching it get made is a big part of the experience, obviously, but the simplicity and the flavor is wonderful. I got salted caramel and it tasted just like salted caramel. :) Definitely a nice place to visit in the neighborhood, perfect for window shopping on Jægersborggade.
