6 new destinations for wine lovers - SilverKris

"This tooth-shaped Adriatic peninsula combines hot sun, rich soils and salty maritime influence to produce lively Mediterranean wines, with Malvasia Istarska the most widely planted local variety. Recent vineyard improvements have forced vines to concentrate fruit, rewarding visitors with scenic hilltop towns, pine-studded hills and olive groves, plus lively culinary festivals where citrus-tinged whites and local reds flow late into the night—making it an increasingly compelling, underrated wine-tour destination." - SilverKris

Such a beautiful piece of land! We discovered some places driving around for two days and got very satisfied and encouraged to come back. There is a lot of charming villages, interesting spots, roads are good and infrastructure well developed.

Beautiful, but overcrowded to unbearable levels during the months of July and August, not worth a visit at this time! Beaches are few and small in comparison to the amount of tourists in high season. I visited Croatia in summer since this was still Yugoslavia, such a disappointment and pity coming back this time, after missing for few years, and seeing this disaster happening on the coast.

Absolutely beautiful. Spent a few days driving around Istria last fall ... stayed in Pula and Groznjan.

Istria is a perfect place for getting away. It has a marvellous coastline and fine resorts. It is the chosen place for many Croatians along with other Europeans tourists. There are many national parks and unspoilt areas to enjoy and many offshore islands that can be stayed on. Interesting old towns and cities to visit with great food and a lively culture adds to its many other attractions.

Great holiday destination so much to do and see plus plenty of time to relax, hotel is super all round staff can't be more friendly or helpful so try Lagoona Molandrao for a super 4 star hotel.
