Ítaca Hostel

A cozy place with extremely nice staff and respectful guests at a remarkable location. They have a 24/7 reception and the staff lets you store your luggage for free and use their bathrooms even before/after checking out. The 6-bed rooms, a cozy kitchen and common room truly made it not even feel like a hostel and gave it an apartment-like intimate atmosphere.

One of the best Hostels I've been to thus far. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is perfect in the Gothic Quarter. Amenities are clean and nice. The activities run by the hostel are fun. Great place to meet new people and explore Barcelona.

I have spent one night and the staff were super lovely and they gave me cool recommendations. Rooms and toilets look clean. Really little cozy hostel with small balconies around the kitchen area.

The best hostel I have been ever, in 50 countries that I have visited. Great vibes, family, and cozy atmosphere, clean in a great location and above all great hospitality and service from everyone that works there ! We came to attend a concert at Palau de la Musica. What a perfect location…basically just across the street!! We will stay in this same location if we return to Barcelona. This was our 1st hostel experience. So clean. So comfy. Dorm style w 4 bunks but everyone was considerate, while doing their own thing. Kind of like my early college days. Kitchen, balconies, showers, livingroom etc. are marvelous with magnificent breezes blowing thru out. We are senior citizens and there are quite a few steps, no elevator, BUT we considered the steps as part of our daily exercise😎 Loved the Staff. BARCELONA IS SOMETHING WONDERFUL TO SEE!!!

I stayed at Itaca hostel for 5 nights with my partner! Incredible location just minutes away from attractions and restaurants in the gothic quarter. Staff was always super helpful with our questions and they host daily events which was fun to get involved in! Extremely clean room and common areas. I felt very safe with the 24 hour reception which only allowed guests staying at the hostel to enter. The secure lockers with a key was a nice addition as well. On our last day, we borrowed beach towels and umbrellas which was SO lovely to have access to! The only downsides were the temperature at night. It would get extremely hot since there was no air conditioning. Also, some nights I’d be woken up since our room was right next to the recycle bins but not the hostels fault! We had our laundry done twice during our staff(done by Itaca staff) however it quite expensive for 10 euros. Overall, I would recommend staying here! :)

Itaca is a wonderful hostel! Honestly, I've never stayed in a more welcoming place. There are homely vibes all around and the place has a lot of charm. Many thanks Itaca staff, you're doing a brilliant job.

Very cozy hostel in the heart of the gothic quarter. Very easy to meet people and make friends in the common areas. They host free or very cheap fun events every day, + a nightly pub crawl which was combined with a few other hostels. Definitely not a party hostel but the option is there. Free drinks at reception (just ask), and cheap snacks. Staff are extremely friendly and willing to help. Everywhere was clean too. The one thing, which wasn’t a big deal and is at no fault of the hostel, its right next to recycle bins, so around 6-8am you might hear glass breaking. But overnight it’s very quiet. I also recommend skipping the walking tour, it was more of walk 2 minutes, and then get lectured for 20 minutes, and the guide was rude when guests didnt tip enough (they used a third party so this does not reflect at all on the hostel itself, just thought i’d warn people). - I felt very much at home here, if you’re looking for a place to stay in Barcelona, look no further :)

Yuk, I did not like this hostel. The hostel and not the Apartment rentals were only one floor with 3-4 rooms of about 8 people each. Definitely a smaller hostel itself. Location: located right next to the cathedral and walking distant to las rambas and the aero bus. Central location and fairly closed to the downtown area. Hostel-Rooms were decent sizes. A female and male bathroom (which I didn't know because when I came it was late and I didn't see the picture of a guy on the guys bathroom and used the guys bathroom during my whole stay there! And finally saw it on the last day...was wondering why I saw no girls using this one...) hahaha. There was no curfew so you get drunk people walking in a 3am! The doors were weird and nobody ever locked it. Wifi only works in dining and lounging area. Breakfast was your typical cereal and bread thing. They lock up the lounging area after a certain time. I had a towel that was smaller than most and it looked like a hand towel, they took it by mistake and took them he next day to find it when it was just in their dirty laundry basket! I was mad! They didn't even offer me another towel to shower or anything. I hung the towel in the room and try just took it. I finally got it back all wet still and she was like we can wash it for it, it was effing late and I was leaving the next day! Had to pack. But when they were looking for it they kept saying oh were washing it right now, turned out to be in their dirty laundry basket. So irritated. I did not like this hostel. It was okay, small, and iono something about it...

Itaca is a great hostel in the middle of everything in Barcelona. It is literally a 30 second walk from the Catedral and some great restaurants and shopping, and a 5 minute walk to the main street by the water and a really cool shot bar! The staff was really friendly and helpful in telling us places to eat and watch futball. We stayed in a 8 person dorm room which felt comfortable and cozy. There's no curfew or lock out time or anything, so we were able to nap during the day and stay out at night! I've heard about a few bigger party hostels like Kabul, which might have been more fun and conducive to meeting other young people, but I had no problems with Itaca in terms of a place to stay. The bathrooms weren't the best, but they weren't the worst either. The only real problem was that the showers were operated by a button that you had to press every thirty seconds, or the water went off. I would absolutely stay here again if I were coming to Barcelona and recommend it to others.
