A historical hotel named after Empress Tahiti, who was the wife of Emperor Menelik, ruler of Ethiopia in the 19th Century! I spent a night in the hotel but the conditions was very poor. That said, the vegan restaurant in the hotel lobby, serves delicious salads snd injera wot. It’s a buffet so you can eat as much as you like, in a leisurely manner. Staff are friendly and professional in the restaurant! Low priced buffet, hood for large groups!

Fitting to come for lunch to the oldest hotel in Ethiopia still standing (despite being damaged by fire) on Ethiopian New Year’s Day 2015. Food is exceptional and we had the mixed meat dish - a good way to sample all of the different dishes in one go. Plenty of food and generous portions - beware when ordering. The hotel does look very tired but expect it is hard to renovate or maintain such an old hotel easily and to a standard we have all come to expect.

A historical visit to the first hotel in Addis. Highly recommend the buffet. Price is unbelievably low. They serve the dark colored injera which is not common. The food was great. Customer service was great. And staff were so helpful to allow me to charge my phone.

I am vegetarian and hence the idea of vegan lunch buffet at the oldest hotel in Addis Ababa sounded like such a treat. But Tiatu hotel is probably past its glory days and these day its a place where things might have been great sometime in the past. The lunch biggest was cold and dishes tasted average at best. Addis definitely offers mush better places for great Ethiopian food

Oldest hotel in Addis, as old and uncomfortable are the cheapest rooms. It's convenient to pay a little bit more for a better room, cheapest are not worth it. Great terrace to have a beer or drink a coffee. One of the few places where you can have Internet access in case of restrictions, however you must pay for it. Good food and great fasting buffet.

First hotel. Cheap vegan buffet. Food was decent. Bathrooms are a mess. All in all if you have a limited time in Addis, you could skip here. If you have a lot of time in Addis then it’s worth at least one meal.

The hotel in itself is charming, it’s and old colonial building frozen in time. You walk into its reception area with its booth and it’s wooden stairs and it’s like you were in a Humphrey Bogart movie. The dining area and piano cafe are beautiful, it’s better to come here for the popular vegan buffet than to stay in as the rooms in the old building are dusty, old and dirty.

This a wonderfully atmospheric old building (mansion) in a conveniently central area. I'd give the restaurant 5 stars for the beautiful atmosphere (see photos) and delicious lunch buffet. However, I'd give the Hotel 3 stars. The service at reception was very mediocre and I was cold in my room. Try and get a room in the front building. It is older but the rooms and bathrooms are cleaner. I think the rear building (although newer) has smaller rooms and less bathrooms (shared). However, I enjoyed the experience, particularly because I would probably not have gone to the restaurant if I hadn't stayed at the Hotel.
