"Ito Izayaka, South Pigalle by 4uatre. This blissful oasis of a restaurant offers you 10 fabulous seasonal Japanese dishes. And the best thing is: you can try them all. To whet the appetite? Go for the tasty Yuzu house cocktail."

We read a good review from Le Figaro and was excitedly to try it. What a disappointment. The food was okay but way too salty, and too simple for the prices they asked for. The tables were so close that it’s impossible not to hear conversations from both sides, and the space was too tight and very uncomfortable. Sake selection is okay, but nothing extraordinary. The service was questionable, we made reservation and even received confirmation, yet upon arrival the hostess said our reservation was not registered. Overall, I suppose it is still okay for people who haven’t experienced good authentic Japanese food and Izakaya culture in Japan. To be fair, after comparing with previous reviews and photos posted online, I doubt that they may have changed the chefs because the food they served tonight were not the same.

The food was ok as well as the service. BUT, although the flavours were all really good, they came in too strong. With half of the dishes, I really needed a bowl of rice to dim the flavours. So yes I think the flavours were good, but not balanced out to serve as shared plates without a bowl of rice. The drinks were good and the cocktail was delicious :)

Good ramen, not spicy enough for me, but really tasty and pleasant service. Good place to recharge batteries

We had the tasting menu to get a feel about all the dishes. We liked everything, although if we came back wed definitely go for only a few, including the delicious risotto. The place is a bit pricey for what you're getting though.

Worth to try. Delicate food, service slight trash-posh...

Authentic Japanese dishes with a fushion touch. The Porc is incredible, will melt in your mouth like butter. The Poulet yuzu is really yummy and light. Also good the aubergine with soy sauce. Have it with a beer + sake.

Shocking from the start, sat so close to 4 people at the bar, ordered apertifs they arrived with the start of the meal, I was elbowed in the head twice, had my champagnee knocked over, choose the 10course degustation menu, only got 9 plates, and all brought out in less than an hour, when I complained was ignored they knocked €9 off. Not acceptable, very uncomfortable rushed food and the food was not upto the standard I would expect, go elsewhere as this was far from worth the€135 we spent on two adults and one child. I eat all over France as have a business here, and this was the worst meal, setting, service and food, paris is full of restaurants and a little sushi takeaway would have been better.

Very delicious small plates made by Victor Magsaysay, former chef at Sake Bar Paris. My favourites are the mushrooms cooked in sake, cod in a delicious teriyaki-like sauce, grilled eggplant, hijiki seitan. Good selection of sake. The restaurant is tiny so you must reserve in advance. Prices: 3 plates 19 EUR; 4 plates 25 EUR; 10 plates 67 EUR.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were in Paris for three days, and ate at some truly remarkable restaurants. Still, I would have to say this was the most memorable meal we had, and we only found it because we over-napped and most dinner places were closed as we began to look at 10:30 PM. Inside, the restaurant is cozy and cute with, I believe, another dining area outside of the main room. We sat right by the main window. Our waiters (one spoke english fluently, the other, less-so, hence the need for two) were extremely helpful and friendly. I don't eat any meat, and my girlfriend only eats fish, so the waiter explained that he would put together a meal of 5 vegetarian tapas for us with two soups. Everything we ate was so amazing, that 3 weeks later we are still thinking about it. The miso soup is the best I've ever had, and the risotto was very unique, and subtle -- absolute comfort foods. A dish with mushroom and nuts was a particular stand-out as well, and the eggplant was very yummy, even to my girlfriend who usually dislikes eggplant. We had hot Sake with the meal, so I regrettably can't speak to wine pairings, but the Sake was a great accompaniment. Highly, highly recommended. We're already discussing coming back to Paris and Ito's food is high on our reasons why!

Yelp
This was One of our best meals in France. The tasting menu is a crazy value (€35 for 10 large dishes) considering the quality of the dishes. I especially loved the first course: tomato no miso. The staff was super knowledgeable and very delightful. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Extremely little food for the price. We ordered 3 degustation menus for 35 euros each. The waitress told us that we could not have different menus (that was already an okay...) so we shared all three in ONE PLATE for each course. Pease see attached photos for the portion size. We were pretty sure that they had given us portions for one or two people, which is fine if they had made a mistake. But when we brought it up, they refused to admit. None of us were full while we had paid 40 euros each. Extremely disappointing experience.

Yelp
Really cute and inviting atmosphere with a changing menu. Came here on a weekday with a friend for lunch and easily found a seat. The food is very well done, but the portions are small. The ice cream that we had for dessert was very authentic and delicious. I left feeling satisfied, but not full unfortunately. I would eat here again if I wanted a light and yummy meal.

Yelp
I was looking for a place in the neighborhood this weekend and a friend suggested Ito saying it was "little plates of japanese tapas-like food" I wasnt super sold and thought "how exciting can little japanese plates really be." I was very wrong and happy to be so once I tried it. The place is tiny with maybe twelve or so seats. It's busy, buzzing, packed and slightly noisy with a lot of lively conversation. We called to reserve during the day when they were closed and sent an email. They not only replied by email but also called. When we arrived our table wasn't yet ready so we had a glass of wine on the terrace across the street. They called us again as soon as a table was ready and one of the servers took the time to walk across the street also to tell us that the table was ready but that we could take our time and finish our drinks first. They were very apologetic that the table wasn't ready right at the reservation time - that is the kind of service you just don't see often in france: fast, friendly, with what seemed to be a genuine concern about your satisfaction level. On the menu there are about 10 choices of small plate choices. We tried everything with the cauliflower and veal being my favorites. i don't really know how they prepare the cauliflower but its finely chopped and mixed with other ingredients like ginger, sesame, etc so it looks more some kind of small fried rice - I think this little plate would turn the anti-veggie eaters into a cauliflower fan! The pork tenderloin and sushi bites were also a fav of the table. Each item was really well seasoned to highlight the flavor of the main ingredient rather than masking it. The presentation is pretty without being too precious. The japanese chef came out to our table as well during the meal to make sure everything was to our liking. Throughout the night both servers were very accomodating and friendly. They had good adivce both our menu choices and wine. Our server took the time to go through each menu item with us to explain exactly what it was - also nice service when it's a hopping busy night. We finished, having ordered 12 small plates and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and paying about 30/pp. I'm a bit fan of this little joint and will definitely go back!

Yelp
Best restaurant in Paris. The service is great and the food always insanely fresh. The owners are sooooooooo nice! The ambiance is super cozy and in a vibrant neighborhood. The food is unlike any other. My personal favorites are the Veau Tataki, The Aubergine Dengaku, and The Yuzu Lemon Tart.

Yelp
Great food. The risotto is absolutely wonderful. The staff is super friendly. Major down is that you go out of there smelling of food form head to toe.

Yelp
petit, buzzy, hip, japanese-y. just opened in cool, edgy Pigalle by earnest and friendly blokes. brief menu featuring 3-4-10 course pan asian tapas, sake and cocktail of the day. magret, porc lollipop, cabillaud were highlights. get the full menu, share. Go.
