Itz'ana Belize Resort & Residences

This hotel has so much potential. Their main building, called the Great House is beautiful - styled in Caribbean colonial vibes. My room was much more basic and showed some signs of aging. Their beachfront suites seemed much nicer from the outside though I never got a chance to take a look inside. The property is really nice, complete with a huge infinity pool, well maintained sandy beach, and plenty of nice touches - bonfires, corn hole, standup paddle boards, kayaks, etc. Service was mixed. Some of the staff was really friendly. Some seemed completely indifferent. That was disappointing. The resort is a 15 min drive from Placencia Village. My biggest complaint was that I had construction in front of my room the whole time. Extremely loud sawing, drilling, and hammering began at 8am in the morning and went through the entire day. Hopefully if you come, you won't have to deal with this unpleasant disturbance.

Visiting Belize in August means slow tourist season and we shared this beautiful Itz'ana resort with only a few others, which we loved. The entire property was very clean, well manicured, and continually maintained during our stay. We had a beautiful villa overlooking the Caribbean Sea with the beach in front of us. The service and amenities were excellent and accommodating, with the perfect personal touch. All the staff asked our names (and remembered them) and made sure to pamper us. The food was excellent, and the menu was sophisticated with something for all, maintaining a traditional Belizian cuisine. The beautiful pool deck is one of our favourite places ever. Excellent yoga instruction M/W/F above the Great Room. The property is close to Placencia for all the amenities but away from the bustle. During our stay we visited several other resorts for meals, etc (including a noted one owned by a celebrity), but Itz'ana is where we will return, no question. A true luxury experience. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. The seemed to be looking for ways to help us with anything we might need. The even helped me setup a special birthday arrangement at the restaurant for my wife, in advance of our stay. Many people at the hotel assisted in making this a memorable experience for her. And we thoroughly loved all the vegetation on the property and their plant labels. We felt very safe here and very much enjoyed the experience.

Itz-’Ana - Take Two - this is our second visit to Itz’Ana and we so look forward to getting back here. The staff is tremendously, friendly and helpful. The great house makes you feel like you’re visiting friends alongside the beach. Their infinity pool is remarkable and the best that we have seen in Placencia or any other place. The surroundings are so peaceful despite being just off the main road. The beachfront is remarkably well kept. October is a good time to come as The waters and beach were clear of sargassum. Thanks to Janelle, Felipe, Yancey, Eden and all the others for making our stay and weekend warm and relaxing.

Highly recommend this beautiful resort. The villas and lofts are so spacious and modern, there is room for the whole family to relax. The food is great and the staff is so kind and hospitable. My daughter had the best time and also can’t wait to return. We visit Belize each year and this was one of our favorite trips because Itzana was truly a dream. The private plunge pools are beautiful and you don’t even have to leave your room to get the full experience.

I walked into the gates of Belizean heaven and was greeted by the warmest and friendliest staff I have ever met. Dreams come true here and divine wishes are granted. Janelle and Thaddeus were so wonderful, they are my favorite humans on this Earth and every day I am not spending time with them at Itz'ana is a gloomier day in my life and a waste of my existence. Also the infinity pools are v cute.

Never book the tours from the hotel. They charged us double the price (they will include tax and services fee.) They will not mention about taxes and services fee until the day you check out. They have scorpion in the towel. Their food is expensive. Local restaurants are delicious and reasonable.

Wonderful Stay at Itz’ana!||Our stay at Itz’ana was absolutely amazing! The views, food, and atmosphere were all perfect. Huge thanks to Janelle and Angelica for their warm hospitality , they made us feel right at home and went above and beyond in every way. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
