"Placencia, on the Caribbean coast of Belize, is almost comically blessed with travel-friendly attributes: with a perfect white sand beach on one side, and a mangrove-dotted bay and lagoon on the other, it’s ideally positioned for seaside lounging with a side of dolphin-watching and rainforest exploration. It’s got all kinds of hotels, from the merest shacks to impressive luxury boutique hotels like Itz’ana Resort & Residences." - Tablet Hotels

Our stay at Itz’ana Resort was absolutely amazing. The resort itself is stunning, with a beautiful beach area that feels like paradise and a wonderful pool that’s perfect for relaxing or enjoying a swim. The staff truly made the experience even better—they were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. You can really tell they care about their guests. We left feeling refreshed and taken care of, and there’s no doubt we’ll be back in the future. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Belize!

Beautiful large freshwater pool, lovely beachfront property, luxurious linens and comfortable beds, great service from a friendly staff, especially Carlos, Delfin, and Angelita. The lunch menu was very tasty and serving sizes were impressive (and served till 5!), a comparative value to the supper menu. Next door to Seine Bight village for amenities and local food. A true local Garifuna village, there are no real “touristy” options like in Placencia. Well kept grounds, the main house is beautiful and welcoming. The yoga class was well paced and most enjoyable. Bikes and concierge were appreciated.

Very comfortable room with great air conditioning. The grounds were lovely- beautiful pool and beach front. Restaurant was quiet but VERY good. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here before chartering a boat with the Moorings(very close) and we will stay again when we return from our sailing trip in 2 weeks.

We had pros and cons about this resort. One big con. The room had mold and made my entire family sick. I am still getting over it. My wife is better now. At checkin, they took us to the wrong room and had to figure out what was going on. It was a late checkin and night shift may not have been prepared for our arrival. Not a big deal, they got it figured out and moved us. We smelled mold after walking into the room. My wife opened the cabinet door and saw mold on the inside, particularly on the inside of the doors. The began cleaning everything. We could not get rid of the smell, and we began to cough. The next day, we thought we would open the doors to the patio and air it out. We didn’t want to run the air conditioning when the doors were open so we turned it off. The concrete floor and walls started sweating water, so much water and it was completely wet. We closed the patio door, turned on the air conditioning and set the dry function. All the water went away, as long as the air conditioning was running with the dry function on. Knowing this, I think that this room gets really wet when guests are not present, the air conditioning is turned off and the water returns. These would definitely cause mold. I don’t know how they are going to fix this, but it is a problem. We got sick from it. The next con was the complimentary breakfast menu. We had 1 option, and not the best option. The sister resort in San Ignacio was much better and I did give them 5 stars. We stayed 5 days, we should have had better options for complimentary breakfast. Restaurant staff were great. Hotel check-in was okay and staff were friendly. The hotel needs more active management. Some guess set dirty dishes and glasses outside their rooms and they literally sat there for 3 days because no managers were walking around, checking out the property and directing the staff. They need to improve this.|The pool was beautiful. Access to the beach was great, but the water was choppy during our stay, not their fault. We loved the cocoplum trees. We loved the iguanas and agoutis living on the property. We loved all the trees. We didn’t swim in the sea but had a great time chilling on the beach. |Improve the menu at the restaurant. Improve the choices for complimentary breakfast, this is a pricey resort. Managers should walk and check the property to make sure things are being maintained and remain clean. I am not sure how you can fix the mold problem in the rooms, but something needs to be done about that too. Guests are not going to be happy, if they walk away from their stay sick.

Wonderful property and suites. The staff were friendly staff. Lots to do on the beach including corn hole, kayaks and paddle boards. High quality pool bar drinks served by friendly staff. The dinner menu was limited but everything was delicious.

My sister and I loved staying at the resort. The staff took great care of us. We did not have a car and were able to get anywhere we needed for a small fee. The pool and rooms were clean. We had a breath taking view of the Caribbean Sea each morning at breakfast. The restaurant and bar were good. We were sad to leave and would definitely stay again.

We had our wedding at Itz'ana this January and it was the wedding of our dreams! Sarah and Deborah took all of our ideas and brought them to life! We trusted their suggestions for the florist, cake and DJ and they didn't disappoint! DJ Khris was the best DJ! He knows how to feel the crowd to make everyone have the best time! The resort had so many fun activities for our guests throughout the weekend like paddle boards, kayaks, corn hole, yoga and more to keep everyone entertained. I can't get over how great the food was!! Any meal you choose off the menu won't disappoint! The cleanliness and attention to detail at the resort really puts it a step above. We loved the friendliness of the staff. By the end of the week we didn't want to say bye. So excited to go back to Itz'ana!

Loved this resort! Probably the nicest in Placencia and they have a very cool sister resort Ka’ana in the jungle. Highly recommend staying here! Property is beautiful and the welcome drinks are delicious!
