Itz'ana Belize Resort & Residences

Visiting Belize in August means slow tourist season and we shared this beautiful Itz'ana resort with only a few others, which we loved. The entire property was very clean, well manicured, and continually maintained during our stay. We had a beautiful villa overlooking the Caribbean Sea with the beach in front of us. The service and amenities were excellent and accommodating, with the perfect personal touch. All the staff asked our names (and remembered them) and made sure to pamper us. The food was excellent, and the menu was sophisticated with something for all, maintaining a traditional Belizian cuisine. The beautiful pool deck is one of our favourite places ever. Excellent yoga instruction M/W/F above the Great Room. The property is close to Placencia for all the amenities but away from the bustle. During our stay we visited several other resorts for meals, etc (including a noted one owned by a celebrity), but Itz'ana is where we will return, no question. A true luxury experience. Highly recommend this beautiful resort. The villas and lofts are so spacious and modern, there is room for the whole family to relax. The food is great and the staff is so kind and hospitable. My daughter had the best time and also can’t wait to return. We visit Belize each year and this was one of our favorite trips because Itzana was truly a dream. The private plunge pools are beautiful and you don’t even have to leave your room to get the full experience.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Itz'ana. This is one of the nicest hotels in Placencia, which is a great laid back destination for families. We rented a 3 bedroom villa on the beach, which was beautiful and right outside our villa. The inside of the villa was very comfortable. We asked for housekeeping each day, which the staff provided. One of the 3 pools in between the villa rooms was a bit green, the staff said it had been sitting unused for an extended period, as we came during the slower rainy season. They cleaned it and did some maintenance on the equipment, restoring it to swimmable condition. We had some ants in the main kitchen area and pointed it out to management, saying they would tell the staff about it, but this never got attended to. I think this is one of the realities of being in Belize. The pool area and restaurant were very comfortable and enjoyable. The staff definitely operate on "island time," nothing is rushed. The only negatives, being the slower rainy season, staffing was low, some things were closed or had limited hours. Despite that, all of the staff were accommodating. It was difficult sometimes to get someone at the hotel on the phone, Whatsapp or email are the preferred method of communication. They went out of their way to reschedule our domestic flight from Belize City after our incoming international flight was delayed and we missed our connection. All things being said, we would have no hesitation to return to Itz'ana!

We stumbled upon Itz’ana Resort during a spontaneous day trip to Placencia, and it turned out to be the best part of our getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the resort’s elegance, ambience, and luxurious privacy. It was the perfect setting for both a romantic escape and/or family-vacay, effortlessly blending comfort with style.||||What made the experience exceptional was the warmth of the staff, who made us feel genuinely welcomed. We stumbled on it by chance but plan to return by choice. What a happy accident!

If you're staying in Placencia, I highly recommend this resort. Before we even got to Itz'ana, the staff was so helpful and accommodating. We forgot to schedule a shuttle pick up from Placencia airport to the resort. When we called, they had staff there within 10 minutes to pick us up. Our driver (I'm sad I didn't get his name) was friendly and gave us great tips to enjoy our stay. All of the shuttle drivers (Jamal is the only name I got unfortunately) were fantastic. They got us to our destinations quickly and safely and provided excellent recommendations along the way. ||The front desk staff was amazing. Eric and Evelyn are so sweet and attended to everything we needed. They provided fast, friendly service and made us feel welcomed from beginning to end. ||Staff at the Limilia restaurant was also superb. Angie (Angelita), Amir, and Mark are the best in the service industry. I can't say enough about how amazing they were. This trip was for my birthday and they did everything to make it extra special. From the amazing food to a surprise birthday cake! They greeted us by name every time and made us feel like family. I highly recommend the restaurant and asking for any one of these amazing people to be your servers. You will not be disappointed. ||The resort itself - WOW. Our room was more than expected. Huge bed and bathroom, beautiful balcony with seats and a lounge bed. Staff brought our luggage up for us which was super helpful. The pool was incredible! Huge and the beach was right behind it. The swings on the beach were my favorite part. Such a beautiful way to watch the sunrise. The Biblio Bar was perfect for a book nerd like me. I cant say enough about the resort. Such a beautiful location with beautiful people. I truly recommend staying here. You will love it, I promise.

A Dream Birthday Getaway at Naïa Resort – Pure Paradise I booked our stay at Naïa Resort in Placencia for my husband’s birthday in July, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of incredible. We stayed in a beachfront villa with a private pool, and it truly exceeded all of our expectations. Every day felt like a dream – we spent our time swimming in the ocean, lounging on the pristine beach, sipping cocktails with breathtaking views, or enjoying the privacy of our own pool. The resort offers the perfect balance of relaxation and luxury, and waking up each morning to such beauty felt surreal. Breakfast quickly became one of our favorite parts of the day. The fried jacks paired with local fresh jam were absolutely delicious, and the locally sourced cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant on property consistently impressed us with its breakfast and lunch offerings. The staff at Naïa went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They were warm, accommodating, and always ready to assist. Whenever we needed a ride into town, their shuttle service was so convenient and affordable – far better than catching a cab. We typically enjoyed breakfast and lunch at our villa and ventured into Placencia village for dinner. It gave us the best of both worlds: the privacy and peace of the resort and the chance to explore the vibrant, welcoming community nearby. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to expand the dinner options or offer more variety for room service in the evenings. However, with Placencia’s charming restaurants just a short ride away, it was easy to enjoy different cuisines and immerse ourselves in local culture. By the end of our stay, I had fallen completely in love with Belize – the stunning landscapes, the culture, and most of all, the people. The staff at Naïa embody the warmth and hospitality Belize is known for. They made us feel truly welcome, and their kindness left a lasting impression. This was one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever taken, and I can’t recommend Naïa Resort highly enough. We’re already looking forward to returning to this little slice of paradise.

Beautiful property with friendly staff and good food. The pool is beyond amazing and great access to the beach. Nice bar inside and at the pool! Had great conversation with Delfin and Mark poolside and they suggested local area activities.

My sister and I loved staying at the resort. The staff took great care of us. We did not have a car and were able to get anywhere we needed for a small fee. The pool and rooms were clean. We had a breath taking view of the Caribbean Sea each morning at breakfast. The restaurant and bar were good. We were sad to leave and would definitely stay again.
