24 Best Hotels in Dublin

"Since this hotel opened in 2018, its chic and stylish lobby has attracted many an Instagrammer. The nifty design is evenly distributed throughout, from the Art Deco wallpaper to the uplit library walls. Rooms nod to their setting—a classic Georgian building—but feature cool modern touches, like a golden geometric light that hangs from a coffered ceiling in one of the suites. Padded gray headboards offer a contemporary edge, and bursts of color come in the form of mustard and turquoise. Iveagh Garden isn't just all show and no substance—rather awesomely, it sources its energy from an underground river." - Nicola Brady

Iveagh Garden Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival?Since this hotel opened in 2018, its chic and stylish lobby has attracted many an Instagrammer. The nifty design is evenly distributed throughout, from the Art Deco wallpaper to the well-lit library walls. Thankfully, though, Iveagh Garden isn't just all show and no substance—rather awesomely, it sources its energy from an underground river. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Part iPhone-toting millennials, part businesspeople, part Irish travelers. Harcourt Street is home to Dublin’s biggest nightclubs, so things can get a little rowdy at night. Got it. Now, the good stuff: Tell us about your room.Rooms nod to their setting—a classic Georgian building—but feature cool modern touches, like a golden geometric light that hangs from a coffered ceiling in one of the suites. Padded gray headboards offer a contemporary edge, and bursts of color come in the form of mustard and turquoise. Try to book a room overlooking the gardens; the soon-to-be-completed Presidential Suite will have those killer views. How about the little things; anything extra of note? The Irish love their tea, so you’ll see Barry’s tea bags in every room. Room service and food: Worth it?The small menu hits the mark with dishes such as a marinated peri-peri chicken burger and a 21-day aged sirloin. Prices are fairly reasonable (€15/$17 and €28.50/$33, respectively) with an €8 ($9) tray charge, so there's no need to feel guilty about eating in your robe. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whatever stuck with you.The Botanical Bar stocks an impressive collection of gins and London Essence tonics, and Elle's Bar & Bistro has a short, hearty menu of comfort food. Bottom line: worth it, and why? It’s the new kid on the block, but it’s slowly working its way onto the scene as a solid new addition." - Nicola Brady

This was the worst experience in a hotel I've ever had. I have never, ever left a negative review of anywhere I've stayed before but this was so bad I feel like I need to warn people not to waste their money here in a cost of living crisis. ||We had booked a night here to celebrate our engagement and my fiancé's pregnancy. There were many issues with the room. The "Smart TV" is not a Smart TV at all. Could only get 3 channels and none of the Smart features work. Of course, this generally wouldn't be an issue but seeing as we're from Dublin and just wanted a luxurious night in a hotel where my pregnant partner could have a big bed and watch a movie on the TV, it actually caused a significant problem for our plans. We were told afterwards that this is the case with all the TVs in all of the rooms. Secondly, the toilet in our room was completely broken so we couldn't use it. Thirdly, only one of the room keys didn't work which meant I got locked out while my partner was in the shower. Fourth, we called down to reception to ask for help with one of the issues in the room and they said they'd send someone up immediately. We waited for an hour and still nobody came. The experience was so bad we checked out within 2 hours of arrival as they had no other rooms left and my pregnant partner cannot stay in a room without a working toilet! ||To make matters worse, I was using the toilet in the hotel lobby when a male manager came down to ask me to leave as he thought I was a man. I am a lesbian who has short hair. Not only did I feel completely disrespected, but to further compound this, he tried to explain the situation by saying a guest had made a complaint about a "man" being in the bathroom, which made me feel incredibly embarrassed and hurt. ||So, not only does this hotel charge upwards of €400 for a room which you can use for less than 24 hours, the basic room facilities were broken, they inaccurately advertise in-room facilities, the customer service was really low quality and they also both misgendered and humiliated me. Had it not been for the fact I could go across the road and get a room in the Dean hotel, our weekend celebrating our engagement and pregnancy would have been ruined. Still haven't received the refund, haven't received an apology email or anything from management. Just to be clear, one night (20 hours) in this hotel costs the same as our rent for a week in Dublin. Absolutely zero consideration given to this. Disgraceful.

Stayed here for work. The room was beautiful! The shower incredible. Great location on a street parallel to a popular eating and going out place but quiet enough to not hear the noise. Trams right outside for easy access around the city. Beautiful park just down the road to go sit in

Hotel was in a great quiet location just a block south of the main tourist areas. Breakfast and dinner were great, and there are also a number of restaurants located around the hotel and a coffee shop for a quick morning tea/coffee/pastry. Hotel was clean and had a classic design. Be aware that the hotel has steps up to the entrance and many of the rooms are located down hallways with a few steps. Not all rooms have air conditioning and can get quite uncomfortable in a heat wave even with provided fans. Not an issue in the cooler months.

Beautiful place! Top notch. My only complaint was we stayed Fri/Sat night and the music from the gardens was so loud it sounded like the concert was in our room. I'm cool with Damien Dempsey but listening to his music live for basically 48 hours straight was nuts. And when he was done the bar band played and good god, please buy soundproof windows. At least warn people when they book a room that there will be constant noise. Again, Iveagh was awesome. Staff went above and beyond. If you have kids, probably stay somewhere else.

My overall experience was very good there is room for improvement ||My friends initial experience was not satisfactory and had to request for a room change closer to mine. The front service manager was proactive and made up for the check in experience. ||The location is great and the breakfast staff were friendly.||||My other guests (family members)who came for my birthday came in from the UK to surprise me and stayed in the main hotel had a better experience so on my next booking I would insist to stay in the main hotel and not the annex to have a richer experience.

Great city center location, a short walk from the National Concert Hall or the Gaiety Theatre makes it an ideal spot for an early dinner or pre-show drinks. We were very well looked after by the staff. Unfortunately we were nightmare customers as we arrived late so we were in a rush to make a show. The staff were very accommodating and mentioned it to the kitchen. Our food was cooked to perfection & came out very quickly, service was exceptional.

Stayed here in May with two friends in a "Triple" room. The hotel and room were very nice and updated. We booked the breakfast included plan which was a huge benefit! Iveagh Garden was having a great sale when I booked. I paid less to stay here for three nights then I paid for a chain motel in the states. The hotel is centrally located but far enough from Templ Bar so you don't get disturbed.
