24 Best Hotels in Dublin

"Since this hotel opened in 2018, its chic and stylish lobby has attracted many an Instagrammer. The nifty design is evenly distributed throughout, from the Art Deco wallpaper to the uplit library walls. Rooms nod to their setting—a classic Georgian building—but feature cool modern touches, like a golden geometric light that hangs from a coffered ceiling in one of the suites. Padded gray headboards offer a contemporary edge, and bursts of color come in the form of mustard and turquoise. Iveagh Garden isn't just all show and no substance—rather awesomely, it sources its energy from an underground river." - Nicola Brady

Iveagh Garden Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival?Since this hotel opened in 2018, its chic and stylish lobby has attracted many an Instagrammer. The nifty design is evenly distributed throughout, from the Art Deco wallpaper to the well-lit library walls. Thankfully, though, Iveagh Garden isn't just all show and no substance—rather awesomely, it sources its energy from an underground river. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Part iPhone-toting millennials, part businesspeople, part Irish travelers. Harcourt Street is home to Dublin’s biggest nightclubs, so things can get a little rowdy at night. Got it. Now, the good stuff: Tell us about your room.Rooms nod to their setting—a classic Georgian building—but feature cool modern touches, like a golden geometric light that hangs from a coffered ceiling in one of the suites. Padded gray headboards offer a contemporary edge, and bursts of color come in the form of mustard and turquoise. Try to book a room overlooking the gardens; the soon-to-be-completed Presidential Suite will have those killer views. How about the little things; anything extra of note? The Irish love their tea, so you’ll see Barry’s tea bags in every room. Room service and food: Worth it?The small menu hits the mark with dishes such as a marinated peri-peri chicken burger and a 21-day aged sirloin. Prices are fairly reasonable (€15/$17 and €28.50/$33, respectively) with an €8 ($9) tray charge, so there's no need to feel guilty about eating in your robe. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whatever stuck with you.The Botanical Bar stocks an impressive collection of gins and London Essence tonics, and Elle's Bar & Bistro has a short, hearty menu of comfort food. Bottom line: worth it, and why? It’s the new kid on the block, but it’s slowly working its way onto the scene as a solid new addition." - Nicola Brady

Such a lovely hotel and the young gals at the front desk are delightful. Although we only had one night here, we would definitely come back and stay here. The public spaces were very nice. The room was well appointed and little details like multiple hooks in the bathroom were so appreciated. There could have been a little more light (from fixtures) in the room as it was a little hard to see what we were packing but all in all, a lovely place to stay. We will be back!

I had a fine stay, the room was smallish but was bigger than other hotels in this area. Bathroom was large (I was given the accessibility room). Everything was clean and newish. The windows are locked - can't get any fresh air. Breakfast was basic. The room does not have a fridge but you can ask the reception to put your food there. Staff were friendly and helpful. The price is expensive but it's similar to all the hotels in the area. On my second night there was no hot water, reception said they were working on a fix, hopefully by the morning it'd be resolved. Unfortunately it wasn't the case and I showered with cold water. Not ideal but it could be worse if it's winter. I hope they will have a better procedure in place for the future. They have also offered a partial refund for the inconvenience which I am satisfied with the offer. Overall it was a good stay apart from the boiler problem, and would consider staying here again if the price is right.

The hotel itself is fine overall. I paid €595 for two nights and booked about a month in advance, but I was given a room designed for people with disabilities. The shower was awkward, and the sink was basically at my knees. When I asked reception why, they just said the room selection is random. The hotel was full of older tourists (mostly 60+), yet for some reason, I was the one who got this room — and I’m 30.||||Another thing that really surprised me was the umbrella situation. This is a 4-star hotel in Dublin, where it rains all the time, and they don’t provide umbrellas. The only option was to pay to rent one, which felt quite embarrassing for a hotel of this standard.||||The location is great, and breakfast was good overall. Only filter coffee is included though — if you want a latte or double espresso, there’s an extra charge. On the bright side, the breakfast service was excellent: the staff were attentive and always checked if I needed anything.||||The checkout experience was disappointing too. I was simply told “it’s fine, you can go.” Usually, hotels ask how the stay was or if there’s anything they can improve, but not here.||||Would I recommend this hotel or stay again on my next trip? Honestly, no.

Don’t be fooled by the cute pictures online — this hotel only looks good in photos. When I arrived, I was given a room in the cellar, dark and depressing, with a tiny window and very used furniture. I told the staff I wasn’t staying there, and they offered me an “upgrade” for 30 euros extra per night. That room wasn’t much better — the AC didn’t work, and the window couldn’t be closed, so it stayed open all the time. I could hear everything: people showering next door, moving furniture above me, cars and shouting on the street, even the trash truck in the middle of the night. It was impossible to sleep. To make things worse, you have to pay extra for everything — even a cappuccino at breakfast is charged additionally... so you'd better like your coffee black! Nothing is complimentary. For a supposed 4-star hotel, this place is worse than a 2-star. I complained multiple times, but no one fixed anything. The only response I got was, “Thank you for your feedback.” Totally unacceptable. Avoid this hotel. Never again.

Lovely hotel with premium service. Everything, from the check in to the check out is perfect. I stayed at the City Pod and it was an amazing room, beautifully decorated and 100% functional. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is very polite. If you’re staying in a city pod, know that it is very noisy (I don’t know why), but it doesn’t take from the experience. Great location!

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Had a miserable stay in August here. For a 4-star hotel it should be rated a 2 by the lack of amenities advertised. The location is great walking distance and the hotel is fairly clean, however the 4 days we were there it was over 80° IN the room the entire time, it was cooler outside during the days and sleeping at night was miserable. The A/C unit didn’t work and it wasn’t until day 3 the hotel tried to help after having to ask what options there were. They put in a window AC unit and it did not work, telling me that they only had 12 units for the over 140 hotel rooms they had. They couldn’t move us to another room because it was fully booked, which is understandable. But I had to repeatedly ask what other options there were. They offered a Dyson fan, it was broken, then ultimately had to find a cheap table fan to offer and it barely helped. The front desk offered nothing in compensation for the extreme heat we had to endure within the hotel and did not even bother to ask how my stay was when I checked out. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Stayed here for work. The room was beautiful! The shower incredible. Great location on a street parallel to a popular eating and going out place but quiet enough to not hear the noise. Trams right outside for easy access around the city. Beautiful park just down the road to go sit in
