We came to enjoy a date night on Saturday. After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes for the server to acknowledge us, which was a little offsetting, but Lilly did fine in the end.
Started with an appetizer and side salads. Caesar dressing was on top. The crawfish pies' dough felt hard, like it was previously frozen. It didn't taste fresh. There was lots of rice, almost like a gumbo inside of a pastry.
The seared duck, ordered medium rare, tasted good, but the zucchini and squash on the side were the best part of the dish. The rice had too many uncooked grains, so my boyfriend eventually stopped eating it to avoid hurting his teeth.
The catfish entree was amazing, despite an overpowering and salty sauce that was poured all over the perfectly crisp and crunchy fried fish and made most of it too soggy. I would definitely order the sauce on the side next time.
All things considered, we had an okay experience. The ambiance suggested that the service and quality would be a little better, but we weren’t too disappointed. The place has potential, and there are a few small improvements to be made. I would give it another try in the future.
