Izcalli Antojeria gets a 5 star from me. Not everything is perfect but the food, drinks and good vibes from the chef make it a great experience. It's a clear recommendation from me and a place to return soon. Some of the highlights of our dinner: - The margarita.. a little bit sweet but certainly one of the bests I've ever drank - A small menu, plus specials, but with a good range in terms of food and flavors - The food was just so good. Each dish was better than the one before with the seafood cocktail and the turkey tacos being dishes that even the next day I'm thinking about them - The wine was a suggestion of the chef and it paired so well with the food - The Chef's vibes always with a smile, explaining the menu, the food and also his vision of the restaurant. Some of the downsides of the dinner: - The service is kind of slow so do not go here if you want a quick dinner. The time between plates was not consistent but that is something to be expected from a restaurant that is still technically on soft opening. - The space is sober and in my opinion something is missing to give it 5 star on that department. Also, the open kitchen concept is great for you to see how everything is done but there's always some strong food smell during dinner (that sticks with you on the drive home). Go to this restaurant if you want to taste great food and have a good time. Bring a couple of friends and you can talk and drink during dishes and time will just fly.

There are some 5* places around... And then, there's Izcalli. I have no idea what took me so long to write this review. Perhaps the first time was too good, surely an accident? After half a year and more than 5 visits, it is the gift that just keeps on giving. Every visit, a new flavour, a new unforgettable moment, a renewed urge to come back. With your loved ones, with your friends, with your family, they'll all thank you after! Besides the amazing food, what else is a constant across all those visits? Chef Ivo. To him, a big and heartfelt thanks for all the amazing gastronomical treasures and humorous moments at your counter. It's the best Mexican you can find, at the same time being far from a typical European Mexican restaurant. Just, for your sake, go there. While it lasts. The photos are a mix of all those memories since its reopening last summer. I wish you could just savour them all, I would definitely love to!

The margarita is seriously the best one I’ve ever had. Food is very lovingly made and tastes amazing. Will come back for sure to test the rest of the menu!

Insane Mexican experience in Lisbon. The food is innovative but authentic, and the service is intimate. Not a flour tortilla in sight, thank God.

Awesome intimate restaurant. The meal we had was amazing! The owner was super friendly and explained a lot about the dishes. His wife makes a great margarita. This was a 5* meal!!

Izcalli is without a doubt one of the best ‘secret spots’ of Lisbon. The service was extraordinary by all members of the staff, and the food please believe me that I’m still thinking of how great the flavours and ingredients that Chef Ivo did while introducing each one of the moments by explaining all of the ingredients background in the Mexican cuisine. Please note that they have an extraordinary wines list with some of the finest wines. I will recommend this experience to all of my friends for sure. PS- All of you lover should take the chance to do a surprise to your partners as I did. (It’s worthy! 😁 )

This is actually my first rating as I could not, not rate it as it was an amazing experience of new flavors for me, compaired to any other Mexican restaurant in and around Lisbon. This defenitely worth more than one visit.

A quite unique Mexican experience. A well kept secret in one of Lisbon's most lovely neighborhoods
