İzmir Deniz Restaurant

I have searched for the best fish restaurants in Izmir and this restaurant kept showing on top list so i gave it a try. To be honest the food in Izmir is more expensive than Istanbul we paid almost 150$ for 2 adults 2 kids and we left hungry. They only had 3-4 types of fish to choose from for a fish restaurant. Many varieties on the menu we asked for they said they did not have. A common thing among restaurants in Izmir is that they charge for couvre ( which is basically the use of utensils and plates) such a weird concept in my opinion and never seen it before. Would not recommend it for sure.

This restaurant appears to be quite fancy, large, and very busy, specializing in fish dishes. However, it seems to cater primarily to tourists, which may explain some of its shortcomings. The service was inconsistent—our server seemed more focused on attending to a larger table than on us, leaving us feeling neglected. The fish we ordered was underwhelming, lacking in flavor and nothing particularly memorable. While the ambiance was lively, with a lot of activity and people bustling around, it didn’t match the level of service and quality you’d expect from such an expensive restaurant. It lacked that welcoming or special feeling you’d hope for in a place like this. Overall, it’s a restaurant you could try, but I believe there are better options in the area that offer not only good food but also a more enjoyable atmosphere. In comparison, the food here felt average for a seafood restaurant, without anything to make it stand out.

I got the fiery atom dip, a refreshing arugula tomato mix, and a pair of crisply fried red mullets. The atom was a delightful kick of spice balanced with rich yogurt. The salad had a fresh snap to it. Those mullets? Fresh and crispy. Service? Top-notch. One of the standout dining experiences I've had. A must-visit!

Best seafood place in Izmir. 🐟🍽️ Classy restaurant. 👠👞👩🏻👨🏻 Seaside location offers an amazing ambiance especially in the afternoon. 🌊 Fresh meals taste excellent. 👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳 Opt for vegetable appetizers. 🥬🌿 Salads are at a different level. 🥗 🧅 🍋 Shrimp and octopus among the musts. 🍤 🦐 🐙 All fish selections will satisfy. 🐠🐋🦈 Staff very friendly and highly professional. 😃🌟👌🏻

I have been at Deniz Restaurant a view times during business trips and i always enjoyed it a lot. The fish is fresh, tasty and served in a simplistic way to highlight the fish itself. Most of the times the service was excellent, with a very attentive and consultitive waiter. One visit did not match my expectations in that regard. The location on the shore adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Full recommendation.

Very very delicious and fresh fish. Friendly staff , We booked a table then we call to delay the reservation, The waiter said to me No worries, keep smiling, the table will wait Stay happy 😁.. All the appetizers where really tasty. We ordered dennis fish and Salomon, plus mix appetizers and green salad, Also we tried the soflei and it was fantastic 👍🏻 Highly recommended and good job.

Most of the food is good but still not enough for the high prices. The waiters come very late. You may need to remind your order twice as some of the food come very late and you think they are forgotten. Impatient waiters rudely ask you to order quickly, which makes you feel very uncomfortable.

Service was fast at first , we sat down and one waiter asked us to choose the fish , however it was late afternoon and we just wanted to order something light to sit down and relax. We ordered cheese cake, coffee and fish soup . We later asked for WiFi and the first waiter said ok please wait and we were waiting for 15 minutes without hearing back , we asked another waitress for it and finally got it . Cake was ok , coffee ok but fish soup is tasteless. You can find fish meat but they have no taste . Bill came and they charged 10 tl more for Compulsory olive, bread and water which I think was ok , but the environment and the staff just made us feel uncomfy sitting there .... maybe it’s just a place for having fish but not for accepting small bills...
