Izuei Umekawa-tei

My parents visited this place 7 years ago and they always want to try it again. It’s on our last day visiting Tokyo, they choose to take me and my family here. If you want to experience real Japanese cuisine, come here. Great value. The way they cook eel is also less sweet than other Japanese eel restaurant. Good for people who don’t like too much sugar. Lol.

A peaceful spot for lunch with delicious, beautifully presented dishes at reasonable prices. The warm-hearted owner, an elderly gentleman, made the experience even better with a lovely chat at the counter after my meal.

It was a Saturday and it only served diners who had reserved tables in the afternoon. So, I made a reservation for dinner on the same day. I was so lucky that I could have dinner here. The dining experience was great! The service was excellent and the dishes, especially the eel, were scrumptious. I like this restaurant.

Ordered the Iki Set. The Sashimi was my favorite meal. The Unagi was very soft and tasty too. Went in 30 minutes early before opening, and there were no people. After I finished eating, I was shocked there was a queue outside. I think reservation is recommended, I just got lucky I was early. Staff was very nice!!

Very nice traditional japanese restaurant they serve all the traditional dishes and you sit on the ground . The decorations and rooms are wonderful. A real japanese style feeling

Instead of the restaurant's regular offering of bento box meals, I had the course menu. While it was one of the priciest meals I have had during my stay in the area, it was the most delightful and memorable. The food, especially the kanpachi sashimi and unagi box were amazing. It was overall a wonderful dining experience, and I would highly recommend visiting on the way to/from the Narita Airport

It’s a little bit expensive. But we liked everything. Service and food quality were excellent.

Unagi was delicious. No reservation needed on a Saturday at 11 am. Everyone very friendly. Will eat there again next time in Ueno Park.
