The Best Burgers in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Manuel and Cheryl Ramirez’s new Metreon restaurant pairs Filipino flavors such as banana ketchup and longganisa with Nashville-style fried chicken and poutine. The smash burger is a major win for the newcomer, debuting its perfectly composed Oklahoma-style sandwich in early April 2024. If you’re the kind of burger lover to fawn over a shatteringly thin lacy edge, this smash burger shouldn’t be overlooked." - Dianne de Guzman

Here Are the Hottest New Restaurants in San Francisco, July 2024

"Make this counter service Metreon spot your next weekday lunch destination. The menu gives Filipino dishes and ingredients like longanisa and adobo the fusion treatment with the result being a tamarind hot chicken sandwich made with a citrusy calamansi and soy marinade. The lumpia are tightly rolled and shatteringly crisp, and absolutely do not overlook the smashburger, which delivers only the gentlest whisper of truffle flavor but comes with an incredibly thin lacy edge." - Dianne de Guzman, Lauren Saria

The Best Filipino Restaurants in San Francisco and the East Bay | Eater SF

"It’s not Filipino food in the strictest sense, and some liberties are being taken with the menu, but Filipino flavors shine in unexpected ways that warrant a stop at Metreon restaurant Izzy & Wooks. Place an order for lumpia then dig into one of the many sandwiches on the menu — the tamarind hot chicken sandwich is a good place to start, featuring chicken thighs brined in soy sauce and calamansi, then dipped in a tamarind hot oil that’s inspired by sinigang." - Dianne de Guzman

The crispy mochiko chicken sandwich was unique. It was filipino style. Inside had purple cabbage. The chicken’s breading was unique , like a skin like wrap on the outside of the chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy. The chicken they used was a chicken thigh, which provided more flavor . The bun was well toasted. I liked the interesting take on their sauces, it was acidic and sweet but not overwhelming. Not bad. The smash burger was pretty good. The sauce was very well balanced. The pickles paired nicely with the burger. The beef patties very moist and flavorful, the patties still has that “beef taste/flavor”.

We stopped by this new spot after reading the review of it online, and it was totally worth the hype! I had the mochi fried chicken sandwich and the breading was crispy and perfect. The one thing that surprised me was the bread and butter pickle, I think I would have preferred a regular pickle. We got the furikake fries, which were delicious! It's surprising how a little seasoning can go a long way. The lumpia were crispy and great bites to share as an appetizer - the portion size was much bigger than I expected. Their desserts weren't available yet when we were there but I'll be back to try the ube milkshake!!

Hidden in the back of the food court, by Charley's. This place is delicious! Tried the mini onion burger and it had a good flavor and was cooked well. 4 lumpia for $4 is a good deal - these are some of my favorite takeout lumpia I have ever had; fresh, crispy and good filling.

Google
This places makes a pretty tasty chicken sandwich. While it’s not my favorite in the city, or the cheapest, it’s a solid option if you’re near Metreon. I’ll likely be back. They close at 7pm, but still let me eat-in at 6:40, which was appreciated.

Google
The fries were crispy, the lumpia flavorful and the smashburgers were cheesy and crispy. Will definitely be back and I recommend it for anyone in the area. The food came out quickly. This place should be more packed.

I’m so glad I had a chance to try this fabulous locally owned restaurant! The tamarind hot chicken sandwich was perfectly balanced, and contained the juiciest marinated chicken enrobed in a crunchy mochiko coated breading, which was then topped with this lovely tangy tamarind sauce which had a spicy kick. The lumpias were uniformly crisp and comforting, with the most comforting and pleasant filling. For a restaurant in its infancy, Izzy & Wooks rivals even the most established hot chicken shops in SF. Will definitely be back to sample the rest of the imaginative yet familiar menu!

Google
Food is pretty good. Interesting take on some classics (I had their version of a Chicago beef). The service is relatively slow so be prepared to wait 15-30 mins for your order. They did have one shady business practice that I want to call out. When you order food to go they charge $.30 for a bag in the fees section but they won’t give you a bag unless you also add it as an add on for an additional $.30 That being said, I’ll still probably go back to try some other dishes (lumpia, chicken, fries all looked good) It is a bit pricey (beef sandwich was ~$18 after fees and taxes), but not out of the norm for SF food

Google
The service here is horrible, I was attending a conference at the conference center across the street and came here for lunch. I ordered the Adobo Portobello bowl. My order took over an hour to be ready, after I waited and they kept fulfilling the orders that arrived well after mine. After waiting over an hour I was told there was an issue with my order and that they would refund me and give me the food. I did not make any trouble and accepted. At this point I had already missed most of the event I was going to attend at the conference center. I took my lunch and attempted to catch whatever was left of my event. When I inspected my order there was meat in my bowl. I am Vegetarian. I returned and pointed out to the guy behind the counter that there was meat in my order and the item description when I ordered did not include meat (See photo). He then tried to argue that the item had meat in it until I showed him the photo from the order kiosk. He said the order had meat in it and did not try to rectify the mistake after I told him I was vegetarian and can't eat this. I left the food and walked out. What a horrible experience. Please save yourself the waste of money and time and get food somewhere else. Freshroll next door is a lot better.

Yelp
As a pinoy myself, I had to show support and try the new spot. Had the izzy burger and woah its gooood! I love that theres loads of flavor and the fries were seasoned well and crunchy. Service was very good as it came out pretty quick. The actual spot in the westfield mall is very visible so people wont have a hard time finding it. MUST TRY! A+++ on the burger. Gonna try their breakfast longalog next time

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by here because he wanted to try their Filipino burger. This place is inside SF Central/ Westfield (for the OG's) food court. We got the Izzy Truff Smash Burger as well as an order of lumpia. We also decided to toast? the cheese. I found the burger to be too greasy unfortunately. I'm not sure what made it Filipino exactly, I'm assuming the banana ketchup but it honestly tasted just like a regular burger with some sweetness added. The lumpia was also just ok, nothing to write home about. I would probably not come back here for that particular burger but maybe open to trying whatever else they have on the menu. The food court was overall clean, a bit empty sadly since I remember how poppin' this place used to be :(

Yelp
Wow, I was blown away by the burger here...so good! I had the Izzy Truff Smash, which was such a unique and clever burger. I ordered this with 3 patties and it had yummy cheese with a nice crust by purposefully crisping the cheese on the grill! The bone marrow and juicy beef made this so decadent! Every once in a while, you come across something unique and interesting and my experience with their burger was definitely that...I will be visiting again for sure!

Yelp
This place is the new restaurant since the owners moved out of the Sony Metreon a while back. Nice decorations and it was featured my eater. There's a kiosk for ordering on a touch screen. The wait was super long but worth it. I was starving the whole day, but had the most delicious chicken sandwich with tamarind flavored sauce (Tamarind hot chicken sando). Yum! The fried were so-so. I had to ask for ketchup which they gave just about enough. The staff asked to open the Jaritos orange drink, they should have opened the hand more, I tried to get and cut my hand on accident. Would have been good if they open it all the way or put it in a cup or not opened it at all. I would come here again to try other dishes. A bit pricey but worth supporting a Filipino American owned business, they just need to speed up the service a bit.

Yelp
Izzy & wooks location changed to the food court inside the mall. With almost all the same selection you can't beat their unique asian American fusion flavors! I tried their new mango graham milkshake and was impressed with the sweetness and slight crunch the graham crackers added to the milkshake. I came on a weekend and service seemed fine! I would say it did feel a little longer to get your food however it's because they make it for you right then and there while most other traditional food stalls have it already to order. Plenty of seating in the mall. It's a self order tablets (2) and you can either scan your QR code and receive text message alerts when food is ready.

Yelp
Got the mochiko chicken sandwich and the lumpia from the Stonestown Farmers. Best thing we got from the market for lunch. The sandwich was tender and juicy but not crispy by the time I drove it home for hubby's lunch but the flavors were great. Toddlers loved the lumpia too. I'll be back to try other items.
google avatar

Yelp
One of THE best smashed burgers I've ever had! The meat was cooked to perfection and the condiments were so fresh. It took a while for the food to come out, likely a good sign that all food is made to order, but it would be nice if they were able to serve food a big faster. Definitely recommend Izzy & Wooks if you're in the San Francisco Emporium food court.

Yelp
I believe this place recently moved locations to the mall. My boyfriend and I recently shared the Izzy Trust Smash Burger here and ordered it 'Manny's Way,' which came with an amazing cheese skirt that added a crispy, savory touch to the burger. The patty was juicy and packed with flavor, and the cheese skirt really made it feel like a unique experience. It's fantastic to see this local spot doing so well--there's a lot of pride in seeing flavors like this represented and thriving in the community!

Yelp
Chef Manny makes a bomb chicken sandwich! Perfect texture and flavors. It's the Fil-Am competition to a Popeyes chicken sando. Their lumpia was also crispy and flavorful. Ambiance is fast casual. Definitely a place to visit when you need your Filipino fix in a pinch. Service was super quick.

Yelp
Solid sandwiches but nothing mind blowing. We had the mochiko crispy chicken and a truffle smash burger. Sadly, neither tasted exceptionally different from a regular chicken sandwich or burger. The furikake fries were tasty, as was the popcorn chicken, but again not particularly mind blowing. Don't get us wrong, it's solid food - but it sounds like it's going to be a lot more exciting than it actually is.

Yelp
I've been here 2 times in 2-3 weeks. Each time I tried something new. We came here the first time specifically for the Truff Smash. I love smash burgers in general but I never had a Filipino influenced burger before. The use of banana ketchup for the grilled onions and calamansi to flavor the burger was so intriguing to me that I just had to give them a shot. The Filipino flavors I admittedly didn't notice AT FIRST, but once I took my time to really savor each bite I began realize the flavors were ever to subtly present. The calamansi added an interesting flavor profile that I honestly didn't expect to have such an impact. We also got an order of lumpia and the tuyo-mansi chicken. Those who didn't really do it for me. It was so delicious that I ended up coming back a week or 2 later with my cousin since we were in the city already. The second time around, however, I ordered the tamarind hot chicken. Now this is where they really dropped the ball. It's advertised as a spicy tamarind flavored chicken sandwich. It had ZERO heat and ZERO tamarind flavor. As for the cook itself, the chicken was relatively juicy and crunchy. We also ordered the longanisa poutine. Now that one I'm honestly not sure how I felt about it. The flavor was a tad dull and I would have hoped the fries would have been a little more crispy. On another note, i'm really disappointed that they had things on their menu that they don't actually serve yet. Namely their shakes, like how are you gonna have an Ube shake on the menu when you are nowhere near ready to actually serve it. So I would say from a service standpoint, that's one way they drop the ball. The interior is fairly clean and I enjoyed the pictures of the dogs and their logo . One thing I did notice, though was that they had a bunch of those super tiny flies, I hope they can find something they can use to keep them out or something. Combining both visits into one review, I would consider this a very high 3 or a low 4 on average. I think being that my focus for this place was the burger, I lean a little bit more towards giving them a 4/5.

Yelp
Izzy & Wooks menu had me shook. As a guy who randomly has an appreciation for Filipino food, this got me really excited. On paper we're talking about a big time spot here. In reality it was still really good. I built up a lot hype in my head that was unfair. The smash burger was very good. You can get a crispy cheese crown on it. Like come on, I'm doing that. The Longanisa muffin was my favorite. Straight money. Chicken sandwich needed to kick up the flavor. Back to the drawing board on that one. Beignets were incredible. Fried dough with a bunch of cinnamon sugar and this awesome dipping sauce. That was obviously going to be good. The calmanansi juice needed more sugar for me. It was not busy when I was in there and it still took quite a while. They are just getting started I think. Once they get humming this could be a special place. The offerings are spectacular and I will be back. (4.3 Stars)

Yelp
Order ahead on Snackpass to skip the lines and pick up for a cute date at the theatre or park. Got the Tamarind hot chicken bowl - mild spicy fried chicken and extremely flavorful veggies packed conveniently in a bowl. Half salad half rice is the way to go Homemade lumpia - it's super thin and crunchy. Very authentic. though there was a piece with some cartilage in it (rest were fine) Chicken Sisig fries - these were good, but not a standout, wish they had more green peppers to give it a refreshing crunch Can't wait to try out more of their menus!

Yelp
If you are a person of color don't go here they had bad customer service. I stood at the counter for 10minutes and no one took my order 2 men walked up after me (not of color) and instantly received service. I left without purchasing anything.

Yelp
Tried the place out with it being new - overall a decent pick for burgers in the area. Not the craziest prices ($13-14 for most burgers) and they have some interesting fries. Pretty cozy indoor seating for the area, but -1 star for me as I didn't taste the uniqueness of this being a Filipino inspired burger joint. It wasn't too different from other burger places, though the decent pricing in the area would lead me to come back They have $5 furikake fries on Friday which are pretty good!

Yelp
Had a day in SF at the SFMOMA and noticed that Yerba Buena had a food court! So we went in to see what they had. We saw Izzy and Wooks on the list of restaurants and decided to try it out. One thing to mention that it's not exactly inside the food court. You actually have to wall outside and the entrance is on the outside. They have so many different food options! Burgers, sandwiches, sides, and bowls. We ordered the Adobo Portobello Mushroom Burger, the Izzy burger, Longalog Muffin, 4 piece lumpia, and fries. Izzy burger was just okay. I believe it was just a small smach burger. The portobello mushroom burger seemed like it was missing something. I feel like it was missing garlic aoli maybe? Longalog Muffin was good! I liked the sauce inside. Lumpia was also really good, I can tell it was fresh and not frozen. The fries were also really good! Our total was $47 and for the amount of food we got, I think that's a good price especially in SF! There were some other things I wanted to try but I was just too full haha

Yelp
Finally a new restaurant at the Metreon! Kinda like a burger & fries joint, with some Filipino touches. Love all the bulldog drawings, apparently of the co-owner Wooks. Can be slow at lunch, unless there's a conference nearby, then it's overrun! House-Made Lumpia: Definitely better than the frozen stuff at grocery stores (which some restaurants try to pass off as their own). You could tell this was made in-house since the skin was thin and flaky, not a dense shell. Nice meaty mince in the middle. Surprisingly light for a deep fried meat stick. Izzy Truff Smash Burger (Manny's Way): At this point I feel like I can't go back to non-smash burgers. Something so delicious and umami about all the crispy browned sides. And it's amazingly moist, despite the crisp. Liked the "Manny's Way" add-on of getting a crispy cheese round on top in addition to the melt cheese. So many great flavors. Very rich. Though perhaps a tad high in sodium, since I was quite thirsty in the next few hours after. Tamarind Hot Chicken Sandwich: Even though it's fried chicken, it feels lighter than the smash burger. Lots of crispy batter around some tender thigh meat. I was really feeling the sauce which has a mild chili tang and lots of great sour tamarind taste. Pairs nicely with the fluffy brioche slaw. Shiitake Italian Beef w/ Smoked Fresh Mozzarella: So I've never had an Italian Beef sandwich before, but I've heard so much about it. Was excited to finally give it a go. It was kinda like slow cooker beef, shredded and fall apart tender, with grilled peppers and pickled peppers. Their variant also has some squeaky shiitake mushroom slices in the mix. The meat and soft bun had a great texture, especially when dipping in the tiny sauce container. It felt like the bell peppers were a bit overwhelming though and the pickled spicier peppers were a bit skimpy. Though maybe that's just my preference. I also had some mozzarella added, but it wasn't a huge portion so I didn't notice it that much. Fries: Slightly spiced. Mildly crispy. It was fine, but the highlight was clearly the burger. Zesto Dalandan: It's exciting that they're importing sodas you don't normally find in the U.S.. This one seemed calamansi-adjacent, with a slightly different floral taste. Very refreshing against the rich burgers.

Yelp
Been meaning to check out Izzy & Wooks for a while now since they have such a unique menu! I got the tamarind hot chicken and it was very crispy and juicy. A solid fried chicken sandwich but I wouldn't say it's hot or spicy at all. The flavors were really delicious though and if you take out the "hot" part, it's still a good sandwich. Also got the lumpia which was so flavorful and freshly made too! It comes out piping hot which is great, but just don't bite into it right away. Overall would come back to try their other items!

Yelp
I ran into this place by accident . Usually the Metreon has some okay places to eat but this is my new favorite place. I tried their Longanisa Poutine and let me tell you this Canadian/ Filipino dish was delicious. Having traveled to Canada over dozens of times for work and to visit friends and family , I make it my mission to try the various types of poutine in the different Canadian Provinces. I am considered by many Canadians an honorary Canuck. I must say the Longanisa Poutine is my great new find in San Francisco. The Izzy Truff Smash Burger was tasty. So if you want to break away from the regular food routine, go to Izzy & Wooks and try their Longanisa Poutine.

Yelp
Previous owners of 3 Inay Filipino Kitchens, they opened Izzy & Wooks right outside of the Metreon with parking across the way at the Yurba Buena garage. Indoor seating only. Soft opening phase so not all items are available yet such as the specialty shakes that we're waiting for (approximately 2 more weeks). *~Our order 5/2/24~* Tamarind hot chicken: ($13.50) take on the Nashville Hot Chicken. Whole chicken thighs brined in soy and calamansi, twice-fried in mochiko batter and dipped in Tamarind Hot Oil- (inspired by sinigang soup). Served on a brioche bun, topped w/ red cabbage elote slaw, and pickles. Mochiko Crispy chicken: ($13.50) Chicken thighs brined in soy and calamansi, twice-fried in mochiko batter. Served on a brioche bun, w/ kimchee comeback and katsu sauces- topped with red cabbage elote slaw, and pickles. Longanisa shiitake poutine: ($13) battered fries topped with a house-made longanisa shiitake gravy, shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese, chopped shishito peppers and black sesame. Fries: $4.50 Crispy cauliflower: ($6.50) Battered, pickled cauliflower served w/ a side of Kimchee Comeback Sauce Lumpia: ($4.70) 4 pcs. *~Our order 4/25/24~* Adobo burger: $13.50 + combo (+$5) includes drink & fries. Two smashed 3 oz ground beef chuck and pork belly patties, marinated in house adobo sauce. Topped with one slice of white American cheese, adobo-sauteed mushroom medley, pickles, arugula. Served on a brioche bun Mini Izzy Truffle Smash: ($12.99) 1 6oz smashed house-ground Short Rib and Beef Chuck patty, w/ grilled banana ketchup onions on a brioche bun, topped w/ cheese (American/white), Izzy Sauce and pickles. Furikake fries: ($6.99) Seasoned with Japanese 7-Spice (togarashi) and Furikake, served with a side of Kimchee Comeback Sauce Note: there's a hefty paper bag charge of $0.30 for a medium sized bag. For to-go, they only have open top boxes with nothing covering so bring a sturdy bag if you want to bring your own The mochiko chicken sando was nice and crispy but didn't beat out how juicy their burgers are. My co-worker also said she preferred the smash burger she had the 1st time over the tamarind burger. I had the adobo burger and do wish there was more of the adobo flavor but it was a solid burger and was very satisfying. We were disappointed with how little seasoning there was for the furikake fries but I absolutely loved that they have such crispy battered fries. The longanisa poutine was a big disappointment as it didn't have any flavor with soggy fries. The fried cauliflower was interesting w/ the pickling and crispy but not as good as the fries. The co-workers I went with are both Filipino so of course the lumpia wasn't "as good as mom's" but it did have a nice crisp. I also thought the flavor was fairly muted. Manny (one of the owners) and later a female (maybe his wife?) stopped by while we were eating during our 1st visit and asked how we liked the food andif there was anything they could improve (which I appreciate that they're open to feedback). We did mention that the furikake fries barely had any seasoning so maybe that will improve. We will return to try the shakes once they're ready. Ube cookie butter shake and a Ghirardelli Champorado topped w/ a toasted marshmallow sounds so good.

Yelp
Chicken mochiko sandwich was great, would go back just for that, 5 stars The house calamansi drink had mint and pineapple, very tasty, 5 stars The egg and pork belly sandwich was good, but not amazing, 4 stars Service was minimal, you order at the front and pick up your own tray. 4 stars Ambiance was what you'd expect for something like a fast food/boba joint, though the place was surprisingly empty on a Saturday at lunch time. 4 stars for being quiet

Yelp
I dropped by a couple days before their grand opening and got a chance to chat with Izzy a bit about the menu. She gave a couple recommendations, but I ultimately opted for the Tamarind hot chicken sandwich to try first. It had some spice, a little tangy and actually really well balanced with the slaw in the sandwich. I had hoped to be back for the grand opening, but circumstances prevented me from it. I really want to try the sisig fries and longanisa poutine because they sound amazing! There are a bunch of items that I hope to go back and try soon! They're located on the outside part of Metreon and there's a good amount of seating inside. You can order from the register or at 2 of the kiosks inside. The portions and sizes seem to be on the larger side while still paying standard Downtown SF prices. Hoping this introduces people to some of the flavors of the Philippines while appearing more approachable!

Yelp
Nice spot, clean, friendly staff. Ordered the Izzy burger, mochiko chicken sando and the furikake fries (discounted on Fridays). Overall both sandwiches were great. Good size, nice taste profiles, the kimchi pickled cucumber on the Izzy burger had a nice tang to cut through the beef. Chicken sando was crunchy and huge. Slaw was a nice texture addition.

Yelp
Just happened to be hungry for lunch and walking by on the way to the Metreon on 4th street. My kids actually found this spot...because if the sidewalk sign. My teenager loves chicken sandwiches so it caught his eye lol. So they are having a Grand Opening on 4/10. Currently on their soft opening. We decided to try out the soft opening menu even if it was limited. Ordered the Sisig Chicken Fries, Tamarind Hot Chicken Sandwich (Mild Spice Level) and the Adobo Portobello Sandwich. It was all so delicious and tasty! My favorite was the Adobo portobello because it reminded me of a mushroom burger, which is my usual choice when I order a burger. It has pork adobo meat and portobello mushrooms, I enjoyed it. The Tamarind Hot Chicken is their Mild level chicken sandwich, if you like spicy you might want to consider their "scorpion" it's indicated as a level 7 spice. The chicken sisig fries is super tasty, served with a fried egg on top. We eat every single bite and everything was enjoyable. I would love to try more of the menu items, including the signature drinks that are unique drinks.

Yelp
They're moving but not far! Filipino fusion works at Izzy & Wooks. The flavors are spot on and you'll be back to try the whole menu. Traditional Filipino dishes packaged in a burger or bowl just works! Yes try the lumpia! Recommend and we'll be back...at their new location.

Yelp
mochiko chicken sandos were crispy outside and juicy inside so not bad. buns were soft too, and portion was hefty in a good way

Yelp
I heard about the grand opening through the Yelp app when I saw the ad. I saw the buy 1 get 1 free deal on the grand opening day during lunch time, so I came to check in out. I was really curious about what is Filipino burgers and wanted to check it out since there isn't much Filipino food in SF. The food here is fusion with American food that's added with some Filipino flavors. I found the crispy mochiko chicken burger being very crispy and yummy. I'm glad I asked the staff what is the adobo portobello burger. The name made it sound vegetarian, but it has a pork pattie in addition to the mushroom, which is awesome. You can add $5 more for fries and a drink to make it a meal too.
google avatar

Gerard Y.

Yelp
Looks like it's a Filipino-American fusion fast food place. I ordered the mochiko fried chicken sandwich since it seemed interesting that they used mochiko for the batter on the fried chicken. I love it. It wasn't spicy and it had the other usual stuff like slaw and pickles for toppings. I think I'd definitely try the adobo burger when I check this place out again. Ordering was fairly easy with the walkup kiosks and I appreciate that the food was made after being ordered.

Yelp
My first time here and the food was real good! I think they messed up gave me an extra burger patty in my mini burger, loved the sweetness from the banana ketchup onions. Those lumpias were so crispy and delicious!! one of the best I've had. Not the fault of the restaurant, they tried kicking out a homeless person, then that guy tried coming to me to harass me while I was waiting for my food! But one big issue, the ink from their stamp on the burger wrapper started bleeding onto my burger bun and my hands! That's pretty gross, I don't want to eat ink! Cute logo but it's not needed on the wrapper

Yelp
Run don't walk to get this delicious food! Can't believe it's been open around the corner from my office for a few months now! I got the mini truff smash with the Mannys crusty cheese and savored every bite. Fries were perfect. Can't wait to try more stuff on the menu! Ordering online was easy and pick up was smooth. Inside was cute but I had to take it to go today. Go get some!

Overall - Surprisingly great for Union Square, glad to have you guys here! Cozy space, accessible service, great food for the 'hood. Rating: 5 of 5 Ambiance - cute little fast casual, counter ordering spot. Based on it's location, I could see this spot getting packed depending on what's happening. Luckily, wasn't the case for us! Rating: 5 of 5 Service - it was 100% counter service, but I didn't feel like the staff was unapproachable. Someone was always at the front counter expediting and available for questions. Good for what it was. Rating: 5 of 5 Food - the sandwiches were wonderful and the fries were also great! Entirely serviceable, especially for the touristy, cookie-cutter vibe of the businesses around it. Rating: 5 of 5 Scoring modifiers: - Price: a little high, but look at where they are. +/-0 - Additional Fees: none of note. +/-0 - Drinks Ordered: I ordered a soda, it was soda. +/-0 Rating Modification Adjustment Total: +/-0 Notes: - Ordering tips: order at the kiosk, take a buzzer, when it buzzes, go collect your food. EZPZ. - Wait times: the food took a little longer than I was expecting for a relatively straight forward experience, but nothing to really scoff at. - What to Get: the Tamarind Hot Chicken sandwich if you've got the palette for it.

Yelp
Ordered quickly for pickup via an app on the way to work. Was greeted with delicious, best fried chicken sandwich vibes, an awesome smash burger and some well spiced fries. Perfect place pre or post movie, as it's right under the Metreon. Definitely delicious

Yelp
Pretty average, and WAY OVER-RATED on Yelp. The flavors were good, not particularly amazing though. Maybe a unique concept, but really nothing to brag about. They have decent sandwiches. The portions were certainly average, if not a little on the smaller side. The service was average, perhaps below average. It took forever to get the food - about 20-25mins from ordering to get two sandwiches and a lumpia. They also mixed up orders/almost gave me someone else's at the 15-20min mark. There was no line at the time, and maybe one or two other orders total, that I visibly saw in my 30+ mins there (no other delivery or other people walk up in that time). The ambiance is a food court. Not great for anything other than a quick "fast casual" bite. But it wasn't fast, and it wasn't very casual bc it smelled funny in the food court/emporium.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is okay. I ordered food at the kiosk for to go. After I was texted that my food was ready, I went up and noticed my items in an open face tray. I politely asked for a bag and lady behind the counter (who was nice) said 25 cents. I didn't realize there was a buy a bag option through the kiosk and she said sorry. After spend $18 for a sandwich and $4 for lumpia plus tip I would have thought she would give me the bag. Nope! Would not budge. She did give me another tray to put on top, but it wouldn't close as the sandwich was tall'ish. Good food, but a lackluster experience.

Yelp
I went to order a Chicken sandwich for my lunch hoping it would be tasty as to the pictures on the website can be very deceiving! Upon receiving my food the chicken sandwich was not your normal chicken sandwich. There was absolutely no crunch at crispness about this sandwich. The flavor was ok. And the fries were doable. overall I give it a 4/10

Yelp
Yummy fried chicken sandwich. I ordered the Tamarind Hot Chicken Sandwich and enjoyed it. Good flavor and spice on the tamarind fried chicken sandwich. I would get it again but I also want to try their other unique sandwiches on their menu plus they have salad bowls where you can be healthier, if preferred. Great to see a new spot and the owners are super nice. Support your local businesses and check it out. I'm looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Came for the grand opening and the deal was quite nice, but the food is unremarkable. Was able to get most of the things on the menu and nothing was amazing. Everything I got was acceptable with a slight Filipino twist, and in typical burger fashion do not look as appealing as the photos would suggest. The smash burger was a smash burger with a very "slight" Filipino twist, the chicken sandwich the same. The adobo portabello was more unique and probably my favorite of all of them. Overall while tasty, it's not really anything incredible and barely differentiates itself from the Super Duper burger around the corner besides being $3 more expensive. I wanted to love it, something with a stronger Filipino influence, but came out feeling just... whelmed at best.

Yelp
Love the fries, so crispy and good portion. The burgers are not oily, and the beef patty and the other ingredients are fresh. Friendly services.

Yelp
The hamburger was FANTASTIC - excellent flavors! The customer service is nonexistent. You order from a kiosk, no one looks at you, talks to you or greets you - at all. Very impersonal and then checking out you are guided to leave a tip, sorry - for what?

Yelp
I got the mochiko chicken sandwich with furikake fries. Using the kiosk was simple and allowed you to take items on or off whatever you ordered but I wish there was an option to put items like sauces on the side. When placing the order on the kiosk you're given a number and can scan a QR code for your receipt. The lobby was cleaned immediately when tables left. I counted 10 tables with two seats and 2 tables with 4 seats. There was only one other table of three when I was there but the employee had a little voice so when she called out my order of food the other table almost took it- maybe they should have a mic so people can hear their order. The sandwich was good, not the type of chicken I prefer but the flavor was great. The furikake fries were spicier than I thought they would be so I was unable to finish them. There's free lemon water next to ketchup and mustard by the front register. Bathrooms were located around the back down the hallway. One of two was out of order. The bathroom was clean though.

Yelp
I was excited to see another place with hot chicken and the idea of a Filipino twist on it was too much for me to pass up, so I had to go and try the scorpion tamarind hot chicken sando as a combo. The price was roughly what would be expected for the area, service was good enough, and the feel of the place is pleasant. Also, fries were great. Then there was the sandwich. I wanted to like it. I really did. But first of all, the heat level. This was the HOTTER version? It was a step down from a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich for heat. As for the flavors, it never seemed to make a coherent whole. There were flavors there but it was impossible to make sense of it. It's honestly the most disappointing hot chicken I've gotten in a long time. The thing is it feels like I just got the wrong thing here. There are things that look and sound spectacular on the menu- things like the chicken sisig fries, longanisa poutine, shiitake Italian beef, of course the lumpia- but the hot chicken missed the mark entirely.
