Guy in the front desk unfriendly and grumpy. Owner of the guesthouse was friendly and let us leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out. But for the price we paid we got waaay better hostels (70€ for one night, but it was the cheapest I've found in Hiroshima, and I've booked it 3 months before going). We had to rent bath towels (a bargain - 100¥ per towel - but still inconvenient to go from 4th floor to the ground without elevator). I know that the guesthouse appreciates the environment and so on (I am myself a vegan), but the linen were with stains and were old, the same for the pillows. But it was still comfy to sleep. You have to tap the shower every 30 seconds to get water (for me it's not an issue, but for others it can be). They offer shampoo and shower gel in the shower. You have to do your own bed and after check-out you have to put your used linen in a laundry box in the corridor (also not an issue for me but can bother other possible guests). Just informing you before choosing here. I just think that for what they offer should be cheaper.

Fantastic budget stay! Great room with futons and tatami mats. AC worked well, bathrooms very clean. Only issue is we couldn’t find a cutting knife when we were cooking

I had a pleasant stay at J-Hoppers, the dorm was fairly spatious and very quiet, close to the center. The place was clean. There is a button in the showers that you have to press every three seconds to get water, which is rather irritating but I get why they implemented it.

Overall, as far as hostels go, this is a good one! Super close to lots of the main sights, and good amenities. I wouldn't have turned down an extra layer of padding for the bed though...

Amazing place! I met so many people in spite of staying in a private room. It’s very sociable. The neighborhood is quiet (I’m sensitive to noise and slept very well) and very close to the main sights and public transportation. Besides, the staff was amazing. I lost my wallet at a museum and they were so kind to help me get it back. Couldn’t recommend it more.

What a nice little hostel! Clean and comfortable, with friendly staff and clear signage and policies everywhere. We arrived very late and were still able to get in easily. No elevator, so keep that in mind. Nice little lounge and kitchen area. Perfectly located within walking distance of Peace Memorial Park. Will definitely stay here again!

This was a decent stay. I think the quality of your stay largely also depends on the type of room mates you have. while in general I have never had issues but some nights it did get a little noisy. Nothing that the hostel can be blamed for. It was a nice stay for the money paid.

This is a great hostel. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They speak good English and there are many other solo travelers that come here. I met some great people. There's a kitchen too that's well equipped. The bedrooms are also very spacious and comfy. My only downside is being woken up at 10am everyday as the staff come in to clean the rooms from guests that have checked out.
