Great little place. Came here with a large group of people for a quick beverage. The bartender was friendly and fast. They had multiple football games on their televisions. I didn't realize that they sold food until I saw the questions that Google Maps was asking me, so I cannot comment on their offerings. They even have a little stage set up for live music. I'll definitely come back one day and spend a little more time here.

This is a great hid-a-away seafood resturant. The work staff is personable. The food is fantastic. The crab legs are the biggest I have ever been served! Properly priced this is a "Diamond in the Rough" you do not want to miss!

This may have been a restaurant in the past, but it’s a pub now. They had some yummy seafood options, but only bar seating and a few high-tops. A “restaurant” denotes family-friendly, and this place was not. The pub distinction is an important one as our family has two kids and had to order “to go” once we walked inside. Later, we saw another small family do the same thing, eating in their car instead of going inside. The food was in smaller portions and without garnish, consistent with my assertion. It’s a five star pub, but a four star restaurant.

I ordered the Chilean swordfish and rice with the clam chowder and an Italian salad. This was absolutely delightful and the location of this place I was able to stay parked in the parking lot and go over to Sunset Beach to do some swimming in the ocean as the sun was setting the bartender Lance awesome thank you

2nd picture, I realized more than half way through, I hadn't taken a picture. And this picture doesn't do it justice. Sooo good!!! Peppercorn steak with mushroom gravy (on the side) & crab legs. I was told everything is good here & although it sounds like options are endless, I will still probably order these same items. Such a treat, to enjoy a delicious meal 😋

Food is so good here. They have a full restaurant and bar and we came once when the Apes played and it was packed! This is one of our favorite places!

I'm not a seafood person but I was with a large group and this place was reserved. It's a dive bar with some seating and very casual beach feel. Staff, in particular Chico, was awesome and friendly. Food is very expensive and the quality is just okay. Probably unwise to get pasta on my end. The portion was far too small for it being 27 bucks. I probably should have settled for a burger.

Just another amazing Friday night at King Neptune's! It's hot outside so this evenings menu was a bucket of Michelob Ultra. They were out of swordfish this evening so the backup plan was the soup/ green salad combo. It hit the spot. Perfect combination of refreshing and comforting warmth. The salads are very nice sized. And the beautiful thing is they're pre tossed so you don't spill 1/2 of it trying to get the dressing throughout. Dressings are home made and spectacular. The band tonight was spot on and had everyone dancing. Service was AMAZING! The younger gentleman said they were short staffed but with his hustle, you would never know. And THAT is why we keep coming back!

Lived in HB for 13 years, have driven by this place a thousand times! Marquis caught my eye led zep tribute band playing, so I finally stopped in. Place is very kool! Pretty small, band stage is barely big enough for a 4 person band. Seemed most people in there were regulars and knew each other. Had a great time, would def go back! Bar was understaffed, waited in line for 10 minutes to get some beers, finally just gave up and just enjoyed the music.

Went to a condo complex for vacation right next to King Neptunes, so we had to take our friends for dinner. For what looks like a dive bar from the restaurant, the restaurant had a pretty extensive menu. I gravitated right to the Chilean Sea Bass and I also got a cup of clam chowder with it. The Sea Bass was great, but the clam chowder was just so so. My girlfriend got crab stuffed mushrooms and fried Calamari. Crab stuffed mushrooms just ok but the Calamari was good. I would recommend staying with the fish dishes and steer clear of the clam chowder and crab stuffed mushrooms. Drinks were good and I would go there again for the fish.

I ordered a shrimp cocktail after reading best place to dine in and how good the seafood was but was very disappointed. I received 5 shrimp on a paper plate and a solo disposable plastic cup of cocktail sauce. Nothing else! It did have live music so it got a second star but not so much for good seafood.

We came here the day after New Year's Day and it was a very nice experience! It is located in Sunset beach, if you haven't been here before make sure to look out for it as it is a little hard to miss The drinks were very nice and helped set the mood for what was to come, I got a lobster tail and clam chowder, I am not a seafood person so I didn't want to add a $100 crab leg to the check and opted for the tail. The lobster tail was pretty good, maybe more seasoning but I wouldn't know since I'm not accustomed to seafood. Idid try the crab leg and can say that it is not my thing. Everyone else loved it though! I am sure they are some of the best legs around since everyone finished in no time! I also have not had clam chowder since I was a child but this one was pretty good!

We've turned into Led Zeppelin cover band groupies and found out Led Zeppelive was playing on a Saturday afternoon at this dive bar. They were also celebrating a bar fly's birthday so the regulars packed the old school bar. The stage is small but it was enough room for the band to perform. The beer bucket of 5 beers for 20 bucks is a great deal and the food was pretty good. My friend gave the clam chowder a thumbs up.

Definitely one of those "you can't judge a book by its cover" places. Yes, J King Neptune's is a dive bar that also serves delicious, premium quality food. They have several Neptune Fan Favorites designated on the menu and it doesn't make the decision any easier. Most of the entrees are served with choice of starter: salad with homemade dressing or award winning clam chowder; fresh steamed vegetables and choice of side: baked potato, rice or steak fries. We thoroughly enjoyed the Pepper Filet Mignon, with cracked pepper, mushroom, shallot and cognac cream sauce and Shrimp Scampi with fettuccine and garlic bread. Their starter green salad and homemade ranch dressing are what classic side salad dreams are made of. Prices were extremely reasonable for what we got. We also enjoyed chatting with our server, whose father opened the establishment over 50 years ago! This wasn't our first time here and definitely won't be our last. Grateful for this wonderful meal in a really cool, relaxed spot.

A great place for locals! It may seem a bit divey but we love it here! Really good food! Awesome drinks! Great friendly service! We like to stop in for a drink or two with some yummy appetizers. There is usually live music Friday and Saturday nights.

Came by to have an early dinner based on reviews and the food was surprisingly very good. Had the filet mignon and wife had the crab. Steak was on point, cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. King crab is always good so it's hard to mess that up. It's a local dive bar setting but locals seem friendly enough. It's a good choice if you're passing through.

You will be very surprised that this place has crab legs at the same price and quality of Captain Jacks which is up the street and not easy to get a table at. My order was take out due to some unique circumstances of the evening but I'm so glad I found this secret because it was surprisingly delicious and affordable. You want great crab legs then King Neptune's has you covered!

No ambience and the food was not good. I think at one time it had to been much better for people to still want to go there.

King crab legs. That's all you need to remember when you come here. You'd never guess that this hole-in-the-wall bar would have the biggest, most delicious king crab legs you could ever imagine! It's about $100 per leg (I believe it's about a pound), but so worth it! If you're ever in the area, you need to stop in this hidden gem. You'll be glad you did.

Great beach adjacent bar. Drinks were good and inexpensive. Chowder bread bowl was one of the better ones I've had in a while. Wanted dinner but we were too early. Will be back and try again as the menu looks fantastic.

Horrible service at this bar. Went to see a band with a bunch of friends to have dinner and drinks. Kitchen closed early so they said no food. Also, the owner Juan took me aside and said a waitress told him last time I was there that I ordered a filet minon and left before it was served. Never happened ....I actually would tell my friends to go there and support this restaurant/bar No more. Better places for food, drinks and music. Oh....the joke is Juan is up for "Bar Tender of the Year"......who is voting for him? Not me... Don't like people that accuse me of things I didnt do when I spend my $$$ at their busniess.. Would be zero star but had to add one to post..

The food was not good. Everything had zero flavor, no seasoning, and was most likely frozen items that were thrown into a fryer. Drinks and service were good, live band and bar are nice. Overall, come here to hang out at the bar and enjoy the music, but don't come for the food.

Fresh food but not very flavorful, and also very expensive. Great service but predominantly a bar ambience, though they do have dine in booths separated from the bar area. The garlic cheese bread was good but I would have preferred it to be more toasted and more garlic. For example put garlic spread on both sides, then toast both sides, and as a very last step melt cheese on top. The clam chowder was amazing and definitely homemade! The green salad was great with a sufficient amount of dressing on it. The King Crab legs were nice and fresh. The baked potato was great. The vegetables were cooked al dente with no seasoning, as though they were plainly steamed. The filet mignon unfortunately was a wide thin cut as though they gently pounded it out. I would have preferred a tall narrow cut as that is more conducive to cooking a nice medium rare. I suggest you order your steak slightly under how you'd really like it. Also the steak had no seasoning whatsoever. It would have been nice to have some seasoning seared into one side. The lobster was nice and fresh but could have benefited from a little more seasoning. The Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc by St Supery was wonderful.

Great atmosphere! Live music, great bar! Food is also delicious. Love this place! Such a cool vibe in a cute beach town.

1st time in this restaurant. Been wanting to try for a while. Ordered King Crab many times from a competitor a couple blocks down. When I first tasted the crab it was very salty, so I tried another area of the leg and it too was salty. When the waiter came back to see how things were and I mentioned how salty it was and his immediate answer was it's always going to taste a little salty" I said no not this salty and that I have ordered this dish many times before. He didn't say anything or offer any kind of apology or even a simple 10% discount, Nothing! WOW! Maybe it was just that one time but this waiter I believe could have offered a not so happy customer Something. First and last time for King Neptunes.

Stopped in on Sunday around 12:30pm. We were told all booths were closed until after 4pm. My family member is handicapped and can't sit up on stools. The hostess was rude to us when I tried to ask another question she just turned around and walked away. We left and we'll never come to this place again. It looks nothing like the photos on Yelp.

Me and the hubs have been here before for drinks, and came back to have some dinner. It was so nummy! We had a bowl of clam chowder, jumbo shrimp cocktail and fish and chips with a salad and their house blue cheese! Everything was sooo good! Pricing and service was excellent! We will be back again!! Olympics were on ambience was mellow. Cool place to have a great meal and some drinks!! I give it a 10/10!!

Everything here is SO good! Plus they have live music often! I love the Buffalo wings - they're huge, juicy and very tasty! They also give you a lot for the cost. I order these almost every time I visit!

Great spot! Good live music! One thing that sets this place apart from other similar establishments is that they have some high-end burbon. You need to know what to ask for, because Juan prefers to serve the premium stuff to customers that can appreciate it.

If you like Mahé down the street the owner of Mahé, Toby use to work at King Neptunes for YEARS and learned a lot here. This place is a local favorite, that goes generations deep of family. Easy breezy, laid back, no frills. A straight shooting place that is family owned and you are treated like family too, The nicest people that genuinely care about you. The food is great. The portions are good. A good pour. Easy to be at and you will usually find cool customers all around. Dad bands have played here, as well as their sons and daughters too. It's just the best! If you need someone to kiss your ass, you won't get that here, just like family. Haha My personal favorites are the clam chowder, the chowder fries. Fettuccine with jumbo prawns, the garlic bread, and the blackened chicken fettuccine ( it's good if you add shrimp to it too) the bacon burger and the baked potato. Go grab a bite and support a local family spot that is well loved by the community and people that actually grew up at the beach. The beach is right in the back and there is also a playground right by if you bring the kids. Parking is easy. Without a doubt, the best tasting king crab legs we have ever had. They are pricey, but crab legs are pricey everywhere. Service is remarkably awesome in this dive bar. Even when it is packed and it often is. Don't dress up, just show up.

Was craving king crab legs so we decided to try King Neptunes. I ordered 1lb of crab legs with green salad and rice pilaf, my husband ordered fish & chips with green salad & clam chowder. We each had a glass of wine which was a generous pour. Each of our meals came also came with steamed carrots, broccoli & zucchini. My meal came out with French fries but our server quickly brought a plate of rice pilaf when I mentioned I had ordered the rice, my meal was excellent. My husband said his fish was okay but tasted frozen not fresh. Our servers were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is old but clean and most of it is a bar with sports playing on multiple TV screens.

Great food! Great service! My mom and I walk in and we're greeted and sat anywhere. The bartender took our drink and appetizer order. The food came out quickly and was delicious! I highly recommend this place! Great food! Great services! Thank you Juan!!!

By far THE BEST FILET AND LOBSTER I have had in decades!!! The lobster was incredibly light and fluffy. Dipped in drawn butter, was sublime!! My filet was cooked medium rare to perfection!!! Veggies were steamed nicely, and the baked potato with all the fixin's, really hit the spot! Had the clam chowder first, and that was equally delectable!!! Will definitely be back!!!! Service and flavors are a 10/10!!!!

I'm not sure why this place is classified as a dive bar because it didn't seem dive-barish to me at all. We stopped in for a weekday lunch and sat at the bar where a couple of locals were sitting having their lunch. The bartender was cleaning and stocking, but made us feel acknowledged when we sat down. She finished what she was doing and got our drinks. They have decent wine and cold beer. Hubby and I looked over the menu and, even though we aren't fans of fried food, we decided on fish and chips since King Neptune's is known for their seafood. We were pleasantly surprised. The order came with four medium sized pieces of fish in a nice batter. It was cooked well so that the fish was not dry and the batter was not greasy. The fries were hot. They served the meal with vinegar - a must for me. We both enjoyed it very much. We also had a side salad which was much bigger than we expected and very fresh. The bar has TV's and lots of quirky things to look at while waiting for your food to come. Spend some time wandering around because you might find something interesting and unexpected. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch at King Neptune's and think it would be fun to go back for dinner.

Best 5-Star Dive bar ever. Great food, Family owned and keeps the place hopping with Music. Vinyl seating in the dining room and TV monitors all round. The Cheeseburger is BIG and DELICIOUS! Amust place to eat during the week and a great place to party on the weekend. It's Sunday and the Music is a going. Oh. Yea. Ask for the Juan special.

Was a busy night but Lupe and Juan were complete pros in getting me and my family a seat. Heard good things so was excited to try and didn't disappoint! Seafood appetizer was fresh and delicious, chowder is the bomb, all of the fish was fresh & perfectly cooked.

Best clam chowder I've ever had (and I have eaten A LOT of clam chowder in my life!). Super friendly server and loved being able to bring the dog since we couldn't leave him alone. I also had the clam linguine and it was full of clams and the red sauce was so good! Casual, quick and good food!

I've been coming here for years off and on usually on Sundays to George Fryer play. Well now I'm coming here for the food and to support our local business. Sunday I came here and ordered a cheese burger and the thing was huge along with cheese fries yum. Then last night I had the fish and chips, a beer while I waited and cocktail to go. Everything was good and tasty. Yes this place is a small bar, but they actually have good food with decent size portions. Give then a try.

You want a dive bar?? You got a dive bar! You want fine dining? You got a dive bar, with fine dining food. The crab legs and the steaks are great. I'll tell you what's better ,the people here. You won't find better food, drinks, or people anywhere. Oh and don't forget the good music!!

Cool little dive bar. Music was good, staff was super friendly. Me and my husband hung out one night while in vacation in Long Beach. We were gonna go again the next night but it was Easter Sunday and they were closed . Will check it out again next time!

I've been coming here for years. The food and service has always been great, even before the pandemic. But when I came back to town after being away for five years...not only were they open and serving up to prior standards, they went way the eff out of their way to make sure I would never stop coming. Family owned and run. Clean and honest. Covid safe. Friendly and welcoming. No drop in food or beverage quality. And when I got drunk and started to stagger home without my iPad, Lance came out into the street to catch me and refused to take any reward. This is a place worth supporting, not only for the quality of the food and drinks and the location, but most especially for the kind of people who work there... seriously.Alaskan King Crab the size of my arm.

LOVE LOVE LOVE king Neptune's! Hubby & I drove out from Palm Springs on St Paddy's day just to hang out here for nostalgia reasons LOL It's the coolest dive bar on the beach & they have stiff drinks! We were even "Lucky" enough to meet the owner & his grandson this time, who was our bartender. They were slinging drinks the place was rocking! The place was packed! Standing room only. The band even had a horn player bc it was St Paddy's day. They were playing lots of fun music, everyone was singing along. People were dressed up in green, funny hats & there was a birthday party going on with a bunch of very drunk ladies dancing, one which was showing everyone her new boob job. It was indeed very nice lol The thing to get here is the crab of course, but the fried zucchini is the bomb! Lol Burgers are also very yummy :)' There is a big aquarium in the dining room that the kids love & I have a thing for all things aquatic, so I dig the beachside decor. If you LOVE crab, all things aquatic, beach side dive bars, you will LOVE this place! Check their website for the live music lineup. It's dope. Highly recommend!

Stay away from this place. Bad food, lousy service, they even slash your tires and will pants you. Um, oh wait, I think they are closed, yea closed. Then they tore it down and built a museum for boy bands. (more leggs and white claws for me! Ha Ha !!!!!!!) Seriously, I have been several times. it's one of those 4 star restaurants operating undercover as just another place. Everything is always fresh, portions are fine, leg portions are ridiculous, and the place is very covid-19 aware and safe. If you are fat like me you can even get a plate of swordfish and veggies. Wait, what am I saying? Get the 3 legs platter. Don't cheap out. You will never forget it. Tip hard, these dudes do a righteous job. I will be fair and mention the fish and chips are weak, (sorry jk), but hey, who goes to the king for F&C's? Other than that, roll hard !!

Lance, Lupe & Juan are the best !!! Absolutely is ian amazing time at Neptunes. We came In for Sunday football , floored Lance put the screen for me on the Eagles game no problem where I was sitting w/ breakfasts burritos to die for .. Then we came in for dinner tonight Surf & Turf amazing Crab stuffed mushrooms OFF THE HOOK.. So awesome to be in a family owned restaurant again and see the pride in the family name carrying out the generation after next ... My girlfriend has a bit of an annoyance w/ her requests in how she needs her items Cooked . Lance said no problem , did it w/ a no problem & smile on his face...

At first glance it doesn't look like much but don't let that fool you. It's small but warm and friendly with a staff that is very attentive and happy. The food came quickly and was insanely delicious and cooked to perfection. The food was also very fresh.

Love this place, everyone is so friendly and the service is wonderful. Juan the owner is so welcoming and a great bartender. He has won many awards with his creative cocktails. Friendly local crowd and great seafood, steaks and burgers. Most nights they have live music. The Sunday crowd for George Fryer, who had played there Sundays for 18+ years is really fun.

My wife and I have been coming here for a couple of years. The food is fantastic! The clam chowder is BY FAR the best I've ever had. Everything my wife and I have had here is absolutely delicious. The drinks are great and we love the dive bar ambiance. It's is family owed and only family works here. They all take great pride in the business and their father is the chef. They are all very friendly and personable. He's been around the Sunset Beach restaurant business for a long time and his recipes are the best. The George Fryer Band has been playing Sunday's here for like 25 years +! We highly recommend you stop in for a cocktail and dinner. Their fresh fish is to die for!
