This store is so beautiful and everybody is so helpful and nice there! I just got my favorite new owl pillow that I put on our sectional! Hopefully the puppy does not claim it!

J Seitz is an outstanding shop. The collections of womens clothing, furniture and home goods are both unique and stylish. I have been shopping at this store since it opened. The staff are always so helpful and attentive in all transactions. They know the merchandise and are great in problem solving and presenting options to complete a purchase or place an order. Every visit feels like coming to a friend’s home.

Highly recommend this fantastically curated, family run, welcoming store! My first visit and I ended up finding some treasures! Definitely a great spot for quality clothes/hats/boots as well as great gifts and home goods. Definitely worth a visit. I'll be back!

On of my most favorite shops in Washington and a must visit when guests are in town. There’s always an inspired assortment of products from quality basics (think hunter boots), to dreamy bedding and the furniture and design space down stairs is not to be missed. Extra helpful owners/staff and brownie points for the stunning gift wrap.

Such a wonderfully curated shop which takes the work out of searching around for special gifts. I love everything they carry and it's my go-to place for gifts for my husband (or for myself!) Setting is beautiful with a waterfall off the back of the store and there are other lovely shops around it. Staff members have always been attentive and kind!

Upstairs is clothes, jewelry, cosmetics and linens while the entire downstairs is furniture and home decor. You can also hire them to decorate your country place.

I have been familiar with J Seitz and Co since it opened and have always found great treasures there, everything from home goods to wonderful clothing. The sales staff have always been friendly and helpful. It is so lovely to shop at a store of this caliber. I highly recommend this unique store.

The vibe of this store is so unique it is an experience in itself!! It's my go-to place for eclectic curated items to give as gifts or just treat myself. I have known the staff for years and have always found them to be kind and courteous while helping me to find just the right thing! This is a MUST VISIT if you get anywhere close to them!

This is such a cute shop!! It's so fun to walk around and see all the different selections of furniture, clothing, fun accessories, herbal teas, etc. A visit to New Preston wouldn't be complete without stopping in to check out J Seitz.

SO SNOTTY! What is wrong with the staff? The shop is beautiful and filled with lovely items. But the overall consumer experience was ruined by the unwelcoming vibe given off by the employees. This store is expensive, which is totally understandable, however if I'm going to be shelling out $50 for a pair of socks for example, I expect excellent customer service. I look forward to returning once all the egos and attitudes are gone.

Beautiful store, the staff seemed kind enough upon entry but soon I would find myself pursued as if I was about to steal the Crown Jewels. I'm pretty sure I've never been tailed before, but in an instant I felt like double agent in a John Le Carré novel. I spent a few minutes looking at onesies for my son while an employee stood no less than 4 feet away from me, as a cold sweat grew, a leaped over a display of fern and ivy, and low crawled into the men's department. Thinking I had escaped my pursuer, I picked up a indigo blue khaki short that had caught my eye. They were beautiful, a size 34, perfect. Price was a bit high, but the shade was phenomenal and display on point. As I picked up my soon to be purchase and turned I was met by a KN-95 masked woman ready to snatch my bounty and refold to a perfect display. At that moment I heard a crash, my wife repelling down from the ceiling from a rope dressed in all black had crashed through the glass skylight for a quick escape... In all seriousness, not once was I asked if I needed help, and was followed THE ENTIRE TIME. It's a shame because it's a nice store, and was more than likely about to drop $150 on children's clothing. They may have been around for years but the snootiness is relatively new, when the money came so did the attitudes.

As a local, I have been coming here for years. The owners curate each item with such attention to detail, beauty, health. I just love to stop in there even if it's just to purchase a natural deodorant from the apothecary section or a beautiful new crystal or a mushroom mocha milk drink mix that is to die for! And of course there are the gorgeous clothing, shoes, a cute little children's section and furniture / homeware goods if that's what you're looking for. Really a 1-stop-shop for any gift giving event... luxurious and gorgeous! I highly recommend!

Every time I go into j Seitz I want to buy everything!! They have the most impeccable taste and beautifully curated merchandise whether you are shopping for yourself, your home or for gifts. The owners and staff could not be more lovely and helpful, they are incredibly knowledgeable about every single special item in the store.

The owners' of the store invest an enormous amount of energy and time to choose quality and interestingly amazing items for their clientele and newcomers. I love New Preston and drive up once or twice a year to do some shopping and have dinner. I always stop into this store and typically purchase something for myself or my husband while I'm there. On our last visit, it was probably about 15 minutes before closing time. We were actually followed through the store, downstairs and upstairs by a staff member who loomed, but never asked if we needed any help. I can only assume that they a) wanted to go home and were trying to let us know very unsubtly or b) thought we were trying to steal some of their knick knacks (meanwhile we're nicely dressed white collar professionals and my BMW is parked outside). If it was the former, a simple, "We're going to be closing up soon." would have been more than appropriate and we would have hastened our purchase and left. If it was the latter, seriously? I don't need to pilfer your socks or crystals. My husband did make a purchase and we were treated with a dismissive, distinctly unfriendly vibe at the counter as well. You can keep your sheepskin rugs, J Seitz, (though they are lovely); I'll skip this place on my next trip through town.

A beautiful and eclectic mix of clothing, furniture, jewelry and unique gifts, this store is well worth a trip to New Preston for. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the store very charming and artfully displayed. I have found many fun and beautiful items for both myself and others. There are so many great things in this store it is hard not to get something for yourself! Great place for anyone - there are items for men, women and children alike. You can tell that everything in this store has been chosen with distinct care and great taste!

cute store, but I am usually the only customer in there and the salesperson just stares at me the whole time so it's really uncomfortable. They should really at least try to look busy so customers don't feel pressured or scrutinized while they are trying to leisurely shop.

I have spent countless hours at J SEITZ over the years...always a special treat when visiting my mother in CT from Manhattan, where I certainly have access to the best in retail! This family-owned business is a magical clothing and home decor mecca. Always on trend, never pretentious...I usually want to scoop up every spectacular item showcased. Although Amanda has consistently outfitted me in numerous gorgeous pieces over time, it should be known I've done the most damage with regard to their cool and stunning jewelry collection. Easy to splurge on oneself, on others, and easy to be inspired! Aside from the chic merchandise, this is one lovely family who clearly adore what they do, each other, and their clientele.
