Overall a great nights stay.||We went to Montreux for the Christmas markets with a 6 yr old and a 1 yr old. We initially booked an Airbnb but got cold feet as the owner never responded to us - so we had to find a hotel and initially j5 didn’t have any availability due to 4 people being in the room.||However, they responded sensibly to the situation (recognising that small children could simply share our bed) so allowed us to book. Our room was perfect, they had been able to find a family room so we had a cot and separate, large, sofa bed for or 6 yr old. ||The room was furiously warm, their heating bill must be mega! However there was air con in the room so we quickly got it down to a comfortable temperature. ||The bed was comfy, the bathroom clean and overall we were very happy. It is a bit old fashioned but in most respects that added to the charm - I liked the old style key to a modern key card. There are 2 lifts. One is new and the other clearly an original with lots of character. ||The lounge area in reception was spacious and comfortable. We didn’t have chance to try the brasserie etc.||Location was great, a 5 min walk to the square and Christmas markets and a 10-15 min walk to the train station. ||We had a great stay and would visit again if in the area.

I found a beautiful old time hotel, well decorated, but the rooms were very small, you barely turn around at shower, rooms looked like divided in half, and 3 old lifts make you turn around a bit. The staff is very sympathetic but disorganized reception , yu can be billed twice. The Brasserie restaurant serves a very delicious food and is well frequented by locals. Prices a bit high, Young fresh glad youth ready to serve you!

Ideal location - bus stops right outside the door but 3 mins walk to the lake and all that beautiful Montreux has to offer. Lovely, helpful staff throughout the hotel. Rooms a little dated but spotlessly clean. Would not hesitate to recommend or return myself upon my next visit.

This is an incredible place! Everything - the rooms, service, location, staff courtesy, amenities, cleanliness, etc. all is just spot on. I was there for my birthday, stayed 2 nights. The room was truly spacious, large bathroom, very clean, no breakages or chip offs.. The location too is very nice, and convenient. The bus stop is just outside the hotel. The view is good too, one can see the lake from some rooms (mine was lake facing). The entrance with the red carpet is very welcoming. The staff is very courteous. They also provided us with a MRC - Montreux Riviera Card - that included free bus travel during our stay within the city (on public transport), 50% discounts to museums / activities, etc. It was a great experience. I will definitely visit again! Thank you.

Good~ Excellent location. Built in 1865. heritage. Bad~ Don't stay during winter. The heater is not helping in this weather of 0 degree. Super cold and have to wear thermal wear to sleep. There is no electric kettle to boil water!!! And the door key is old school physical key!!!

We had the room featured in some of the photos on here - dual aspect windows and balconies, beautiful! Slept well here. Some sheer curtains would help with privacy as one window overlooks the Deck - outdoor bar. A fan was provided which we needed. Reason for 4* is the bathroom is tiny and still has a shower curtain. All very clean though.

Great hotel in historic building. Convinience close to bus stop, walking distance to waterfront. Great service. Has a balcony and can sit outside. Beautiful view. Breakfast is great.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our Swiss Travel Company package.|Our room was amazing, very spacious, with a separate sitting area and a huge bathroom. It also had a cute little balcony where we had our pre-dinner drinks. We had a small fridge and a safe in our room but unfortunately no kettle. However that wasn't a problem as we could ask reception for a flask of hot water and they provided it with cups whenever we asked.|Continental breakfast was great with a variety of rolls & bread, meat and delicious cheese, croissants and other pastries and fresh fruit including beautiful peaches. The staff at breakfast were delightful.|We were also given a Riviera Card for free local transport and various attraction discounts and complimentary access to the beautiful outdoor Casino Pool, just a couple of minutes from the pool. Admittedly the building is a bit quirky but we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.
