We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our Swiss Travel Company package.|Our room was amazing, very spacious, with a separate sitting area and a huge bathroom. It also had a cute little balcony where we had our pre-dinner drinks. We had a small fridge and a safe in our room but unfortunately no kettle. However that wasn't a problem as we could ask reception for a flask of hot water and they provided it with cups whenever we asked.|Continental breakfast was great with a variety of rolls & bread, meat and delicious cheese, croissants and other pastries and fresh fruit including beautiful peaches. The staff at breakfast were delightful.|We were also given a Riviera Card for free local transport and various attraction discounts and complimentary access to the beautiful outdoor Casino Pool, just a couple of minutes from the pool. Admittedly the building is a bit quirky but we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

We had the room featured in some of the photos on here - dual aspect windows and balconies, beautiful! Slept well here. Some sheer curtains would help with privacy as one window overlooks the Deck - outdoor bar. A fan was provided which we needed. Reason for 4* is the bathroom is tiny and still has a shower curtain. All very clean though.

My room, 115, appeared recently renovated. Bathroom was great and shower room for two! Was nice not to have to deal with a bath and shower in 1. Room also had a balcony which was great to chill and enjoy a beer. Location is perfect t for shopping, dinning or exploring the lake shores and easy 10 minutes from the station. Breakfast was included in my stay and the buffet was adequate for my liking. I'd stay here again.

I never give bad reviews as I understand everyone is trying to do their best. So context. Jazz festival dates. Expect the place is over priced. You see the lake from the room. The people are nice and look after you. It’s in the middle of everything. That said it’s been woefully under invested and could be a brilliant place. But it isn’t. Felt like a student again. Sad times. It’s just a real shame. Someone is making a load of money and I won’t be back. Your probably shouldn’t be either.

I was travelling alone to the Freddie mercury bday party, and this hotel was absolutely perfect! A leisurely 10 min stroll from the train station. I know it’s a little older than some hotels, but I adored the quirkiness of it! It was clean, well appointed and overall exactly what I needed. I had taken my own kettle to make the essential tea I require which enriched my trip no end! The fridge was very helpful! There’s a supermarket over the road for your bits and pieces. It’s super close to the casino (where the Freddie party is based) and only a minute to the pier, a great location. Breakfast was simple, but plenty. Staff were very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and if I could book my trip for 2026 now, I would! Can’t wait to go back. 🥰

We’ve traveled across continents and stayed in everything from budget hotels to luxury resorts — but J5 Hotels Helvetie Montreux is hands down the worst experience we’ve ever had. If you’re considering booking here, don’t. Just don’t.| 1. Air conditioning deception – Some rooms have AC, most don’t. But guess what? No booking site tells you which is which. So you could end up paying over $400 per night for a hot, stuffy room with nothing but a weak fan — in humid Swiss summer. We live in Arizona and can handle heat, but this was unbearable.| 2. Zero empathy or help – When we raised the issue, staff told us we could pay $120 extra per night for different rooms — that’s on top of the already outrageous $410/night we had paid. No room switch, no extra fan, no solutions. Just a shrug and upsell.| 3. Outdated and inconvenient – Still using one old-school metal key per room. Not even a keycard. So if your family is out and someone wants to come back early, good luck.| 4. Overpriced for what you get – The location is central, sure. But none of it is worth the price or pain. Montreux has excellent public transport — stay a little further out at a hotel that actually meets basic standards.||This place is a tourist trap. It looks charming from the outside and might show decent pictures online — but it is a completely misleading, overpriced, and outdated hotel with no regard for guest comfort.||Avoid this hotel at all costs. You’ll thank yourself later.

Was traveling solo and stayed at this hotel in Montreux. My room was serviced daily and the front desk (Jamie) was very helpful in providing local sightseeing information such as to the Chillon Castle, Suisse Boat Ride and Gilon. Lake Geneva is within walking distance. Lots of nearby shops and grocery stores. The bus stop is in front of the hotel which is nice.

The hotel's best feature is its location. The room was small, the bathroom extractor fan was very noisy, and there was poor sound insulation from the street. At check-in, the receptionist did not provide me with any information (transport card, breakfast location and time, etc.). The check-out staff was more kind.
